  • Ostakaka drenched in strawberries (no lingonberries for me, ya?)
  • I had to satisfy my curiosity, so I consulted with a Brit here in my office. According to her, the Brits do not have an equivalent to the American biscuit and the biscuit in her opinion is 'just wrong'. :) She did offer her opinion on a hangover cure, though...her 'go to' when at university was marmite on toast. And…
  • From my experience with scones (american style) (and I love them, btw), I am not sure I would compare them to a biscuit. Of course, I am not being very helpful here, because I don't have a better alternative to offer! :) To OP: I have not had a hangover that does not respond to a fully leaded soda - no diet, caffeine free…
  • Do you know when that Half is in May? I have been looking for one to do in the spring...it is a little later than I wanted, but that's okay. I had planned on doing my first half in December, but had a little health issue that messed up my training schedule. Please feel free to add me...maybe we can even meet up for some…
  • Woo Hoo!!! Sometimes when I am folding my clothes I hold up my pants and cannot believe my *kitten* fits in those tiny pants. When will my mind catch up to my body?!?!
  • I guess it all depends on who's advancing.
  • Yep, got it all, 34D and ninja turtle *kitten*. Unfortunately I have a boy waist and hips to go with them.
  • I got mine re-pierced at age 43 (my 40lb loss present to myself) - hell maybe I'm too old, but no one sees it but me anyway.
  • The mods can't tell when this thread is 'off-topic'.
  • Wow, I had never considered the immense benefits of having a monkey until today! Now I, too, wish I had a monkey.
  • Exactly....I am not quite to my goal weight yet, but I honestly believe that to maintain this weight loss I will need to be forever vigilant and part of that will be mfp. Plus, I love the community here. So, sorry all....you're stuck with me.
  • The real question is how many calories were in that sticky stuff, cuz I am sure some got in your mouth!! hahahahaah You shouldn't get a cold sore if you have never had one - they are caused from a virus. I would put a thin layer of neosporin on it and call it good.
  • I have two daughters, ages 11 and 9. They have been well-behaved and delightful since the day they were born. Slept thru the night, very compliant and kind to younger children and old people.......bwaaaahahahah.......clearly they have driven me completely nuts and I am delusional at this point, but I like the rainbows and…
  • Never hurts to remind ourselves - thanks for sharing.
  • I did not have quite a 100lbs to lose, but I did do the 30DS before I got 'close' to my goal (not sure I am really 'close' - still 20lbs away). Anyway, I would still recommend it because you can do it to your own ability and as your fitness level increases, you will be able to do more and improve your technique. It might…
  • I sucked. I actually got a few good workouts in, but after two thanksgiving dinners over the course of the weekend and traveling to Missouri one day (road food - ick)....I gained 3 lbs. Grrr....time to redouble my efforts!
  • Great job, you look great!
  • I won't pretend to have all the answers, but I think I have gotten better - I was totally undoing all my hard work from the week by bingeing on weekends. I was not good about logging on weekends, so now I force myself to log even on weekends. And plan, plan, plan your meals and exercise for the weekends ahead of time....or…
  • I stopped Sept 24 - the day I was diagnosed with a blood clot. The doctor said that BC pills are a risk factor for blood clots in ladies 'my age' (whatever, doc - just say 'middle aged'). Periods are longer, but I have not been off long enough probably to notice any real changes. Acne was actually worse when I was on BC.…
  • Tryon, perhaps? My sister and BIL used to work on a ranch north west of Tryon....loved visiting. The sandhills are so beautiful.
  • I tried to go for a quick 5mile this morning, but seemed to have jacked up my knee yesterday so had to cut my morning run short. Tried to find some tylonol at this dang hotel but all they have if ibprofen and I'm not suppose to take that while I am on coumadin. Maybe I better take tomorrow off...we'll see.
  • I have just been watching calories in (what I eat) and calories out (exercise). I chose not to do a special diet so that when I reach my goal weight I feel I will be better prepared to maintain that weight (this is my hope, anyway). Becoming truely addicted to exercise has probably been the key change that has helped me be…
  • Hey, all you Huskers!! I am from Marquette (yeah, thats a town in Nebreaska!). After college I lived in Dever and KC for a while, but have been back home for 13+ years now and lovin' it. Good to see all the Nebraska people here on mfp.
  • But, presumably at a slower rate and leave a better looking corpse - and who doesn't want to look their best dead?
  • Crappy weather here today...gonna go hit the gym for a 4-5 mile treadmill run (joy, oh joy).
  • While I do not agree with the overall premise of the article, I will agree that losing weight and getting in shape was the first step for me in getting control of my life and building my confidence/self-esteem, which then gave me the courage to get out of a bad situation. But I would definitely say that I did not decide to…
  • Hi, I am Marni. I am from Nebraska. I began running in Fall 2010. I was planning to run a half in Dec; however, a blood clot in my leg kind of disrupted my training schedule in late October. I do not think I will make the Dec run, but hope to find something in Feb/March.
  • My mom and I had the 'how much more are you going to lose' conversation AGAIN this weekend. It is getting SO old. Sorry, I know it's not original or interesting, but I'm just getting frustrated - thanks for the opportunity to vent.
