Good luck to you!! I lost 60 lbs in 2010 and slowly gained 30 of it back, so I am finally back to mfp with a goal of losing those 30 plus maybe another 10 by June. I turned 48 in July and it seems every year it gets a little harder to get the weight off. Feel free to add me! Lots of great support here at mfp, for sure.

Amazing! Congratulations and good job! :drinker: Oh, and smile, already, will ya?!?!

Congratulations on your success thus far! I started out at about 220 also and am currently hovering around 178, but that is after losing down to 162 and then gaining some back (I am currently working on getting it back off). Everyone is different, but here is my story and you can take it for what you want....while I was…

Fried egg (in non-stick pan, thus no oil), 1 slice toast, 1/2 T butter and one cup 2% milk - 386 calories Love this thread - need some diversity in my breakfast so appreciate all the great ideas.

Depends on how fast you want to lose, really. My TDEE is 1735, so if I want to lose a pound a week, I need to average (or net) 1200 calories a day on average. This might mean eating 1400 and exercising 200 or if I am not exercising, eating 1200, or if I really am getting after it, I might eat 2000 and exercise 800....but…

They always made great end tables in my Barbie house and are a good size for Fisher-Price houses too. Oh, and those old stryrofoam Big Mac containers made excellent luggage containers on the top of my Barbie van. Of course, Barbie had to go on vacation with Sonny (yes, they made a Sonny, as in Sonny and Cher, doll),…

2014 Race for Grace Saturday, April 5th,2014 Grand Island, NE This 10K/2-mile family fun run has grown into one of the biggest races in Central Nebraska. The inaugural event in 2011 drew 400 runners, and 1500 participants finished Race for GRACE 2013. It is amazing to see runners/walkers and their families and friends…

Congratulations!! Incredible story - you should be so proud of yourself. You look great, but more importantly is how you feel, physically and emotionally. Great job.

I am a 'smoker' that has not smoked since mid-2010. I can't really remember the date, because at that time, I could not psychologically (spelling?) bear the thought of NEVER having another cigarette...so, I told myself that I just was not going to have the NEXT one. I managed to get through one craving to the next by…

Thank you for your testimonial! Very inspiring. Congratulations - and I hope you and your wife enjoy many many eventful and enjoyable years together.

You see, after losing nearly 60lbs in about 18 months (back in 2010-2011), this man came into my life and force fed me good food and wine and tied me up so I couldn't exercise regularly - it was all great fun until the weight started creeping back on.... Okay, not quite. I would love to blame it on someone else but the…

I am probably considered rude, but I run on country roads and I run smack dab right down the middle. I have several reasons for doing this....1) the tire tracks have the least amount of gravel, 2) the sides of the road are too soft, 3) the middle is the most even, generally the roads are slightly graded to for water…

I agree that it sounds like a hydration issue, but the mental part of running really hits me at about 8-9 miles. Anything under and I feel like it is no big deal, but I dread 8+ mile runs. That said, I am training for my second Half in late August (same one I did last year) and had a 10 mile long run this past weekend. It…

I have a 4-small bottle belt. However, I only run with 2 bottles in it. If I have all 4 on the belt they are positioned so two end up at my sides and get in the way of my arms. The other problem I have is that the pouches the bottles slide into are not solid - just wide elastic straps - so if I bump them, they fall…

I have been running for about 2 years and have only done one half marathon. Most of my improvement is in increased edurance. Unfortunately, my speed remains right around the 10min/mile mark - but I am consistent on that pace. After reading these posts, I am going to start increasing my mileage and see if that helps break…

I haven't 'quit', but I haven't had a cigarette in nearly 3 years....so my best advice is to just not have 'the next one'. To think of never having another cigarette was too overwhelming, so I just conquered one craving at a time. This little physcological game that I play with myself has worked out pretty well so far. And…

I love this thread and love that it has gotten sooo many responses. I agree with the previous poster that said it is the little things...he notices chores that need to be done and DOES them, he is an awesome cook (I like to cook, but I am happy to be his helper)...I guess I could go on and on but I won't bore you with the…

First off, congratulations and great job on your loss! And second, I hear you loud and clear. I need to lose another 20 lbs and cannot find the motivation. I know exactly what I need to do, having lost 58 lbs already, but just can't find the motivation to do it. Maybe know what I have to do is part of the problem. Friend…

I am 5'4" (when I stand up tall) and my GW is 150. When I get there I will re-evaluate the situation.

I nearly creamed a llama one morning when I went out before dawn. Believe me, he was just as surprised as I was! Needless to say, I no longer go out before the first shred of light.

Yup, pretty much. We are all here to lose the 'freshman fifteen'...or 'twenty'...or 'thirty'...

This came from a co-worker today (we have a 'weigh to go' group at work). Not sure the source....for what it is worth... Here's a little fitness tip for you to start out your week right: People often ask me when the best time of day to work out is... the answer is all about consistency. Studies show that your body gets…

btw, does anyone have a good recipe for exercise calories?

There is probably some truth to the biological and pshyiological (spelling?) changes in people that lose weight that add to the challenges of maintaining the weight loss; however, I found encouragement in the section about the Weight Loss Registry people. One person was quoted saying that she will always need to be 'aware'…

I am probably going to take a beating on this, but here goes anyway.... Background...my husband was 5 years my elder and my SO is 5 years older than me, so no real experience with a large age gap. My opinion....in your mid-20's to mid 50's a ten to fifteen year age gap is probably not a big deal. I think if you go much…
