  • I can truly sympathize. I grew up eating cheese sandwhiches because I was such a picky eater my parents couldn't get me to eat anything else. But eventually my mother's (later on) health freakness and learned to like things like whole grain bread and steamed brocolli, etc. :) Challenge yourself to exchange your unhealthy…
  • Yep, I ate a giant piece of pizza... I was being strong until my husband left his pizza out in front of my face... for 15 minutes and then I couldn't help myself! I am trying to not eat past 8 pm, but I work retail so alot of times I don't get off work til 9:30 pm which means I don't get a chance at a last chance snack or…
  • There is that yogurt that you can eat to help make you regular on that end :) I forget what it's called, but you see the commercials alot. That really does work. I go once a day. I think it's incredibly abnormal to be that bound up and incredibly unhealthy because all of the poisons are intoxicating your insides. Not good…
  • I find I do a better job of keeping on track with good healthy eating when I plan my meals a day ahead so that I know exactly what I can and cannot eat. When I figure it out as I go I end up eating too much or the wrong stuff. Not good! So yeah, I try my best to do it as much as possible!
  • Does this post make my butt look fat?

  • I'm sorry, I didn't realize my diary wasn't public! I know it's only been a week+ and I realize it's going to take a bit to get my body started up again... but it feels like FOREVER lol :) Thanks for the encouragement. I do eat pretty healthy, I've had to because of gallbladder/liver problems. I've cut down even more since…
  • It's interesting to read this because I pretty much have the same body as you (in size, weight, height and body fat %)... but I'm curious if the same approach would work for me considering I'm a woman! lol Men tend to lose weight more easily than women, sadly... But I like your approach, I'm all about planning and steps!…
  • Well, just for the heck of it... can you look at my diary and tell me (besides not eating enough vegetables and fruits - which I go shopping for groceries again on friday! Until then I'm out!) and water intake... how am I not losing weight? I've been into it for over a week and I haven't lost anything... no inches (not…
  • ^^^^ This. I cut out all fast food (except salads at first, now I eat the side salads from mcdonalds for a lunch or snack *only 20 cal without dressing*. I cut out needless calories like salad dressings, etc (they hog your calories). I cut out any soda, sweet tea, juice (every once in a while I will mix 8 oz of juice with…
  • I think that's why they call it a sweet tooth lol. Some people have it, others don't. Some people crave other types of stuff. Like, I don't drink soda, but I love a candy bar everynow and then. (Although I haven't had one in a long time and I'm doing pretty good with just my skinny cow desert every other night on my diet).…
  • Protein in the morning is the only thing I have found that actually keeps me full until lunch time. If I eat anything else I'm hungry in an hour.. so a good protein/berry (or just protein with 1% milk/coconut milk/soymilk) would work as a great addition (or quick breakfast if you're short on time). They're also great as a…
  • Until it isn't. I think I'd have to see for myself somebody's eating healthy and still not losing weight... there's no way if you weren't eating great and exercising that your body wouldn't correct itself, barring a hormone problem or such... which a doctor surely would check for first. My rule of thumb is natural is best.
  • Well, if feeling better is any indication then I do feel the endorphins. And even though I haven't seen any results yet I am still positive. I am just getting antsy about it. Thanks for the encouragement :)
  • I LOVE that song! lol It has been FOREVER since I've heard it... they just don't play oldies like they used to... lol I was singing along to it as i read it. :) It sounds like your husband might feel a little insecure about you trying to look "sexier". Maybe he thinks you're TRYING to attract other men? I went into work…
  • Always thought of myself as a pear shaped, until reading this... now I'm obviously NOT a pear lol but an apple... Thanks for clearing that up for me... I'm 215 5'9 with a goal weight of 140 (or lower once I get there) I'm mostly concerned about tone at that point! I have been on here for 10 days, but haven't lost a single…
  • Well, for one you can tell if you ARE starving lol... :) If you're really hungry eating so little your body probably needs more to function properly.. also if your days are longer you might need more (I know every now and then I have to be up at 4 am, it's extremely hard to stay on calorie amount when I'm up 4 or 5 hours…
  • I think it's pretty much everyone else's goal to get new clothes! I have been wearing 80% of my clothes since years before I got married (over 8 years) and the only clothes I've bought is for work. :) So I will reward myself by going out and actually having clothes that I won't have to feel like a bum going out anywhere I…
  • Well. I always thought it was bad. I had a friend when I was younger that limited herself to not eating after 6 pm and just from doing that she lost a tremendous amount of weight. I think it's the arguement that you burn your calories during the day. When you sleep your body doesn't burn calories quite as quickly and…
  • There are conflicting messages on these boards. The reason MFP tells you to go below BMR is because the BMR is what your body needs to stay on even ground. Eating 10 - 20% less is how you start losing weight, by having a calorie deficit. Don't worry, it knows what it's doing :)
  • Exactly. This show is very unrealistic because no ordinary person could do this in real life unless they were rich! I have to do my best to lose weight around my life and that means it's a slow pace. I am not even sure it's really healthy to go from 300 pounds to 150 in a couple months time, even if it is by diet and…
  • You have to squeeze it in. I work full time (2 jobs), married and have 2 young kids to take care of. Plus, my husband works fulltime and is in college part time (so I have to work around his schedule as well). Ask your husband to go walking with you or running with you? Or be in the same room with him and do push ups,…
  • I'm 215 and 5'9 and my goal weight is my dream weight of 140. Healthwise my BMI says I should be between 125.5 and 140. Of course weight isn't all you need to be interested in. It's size and BMI. Do what is healthy.. just because you have a goal of 175 for now, doesn't mean you can't change it later. It's a great 1st time…
  • I think the point alot of people are trying to make is HEALTHY vs. LOSE WEIGHT QUICK SCHEME. You can lose weight quickly using a number of unhealthy diets like atkins. But is it truly ok even if you are losing weight? I suppose anything is ok if you're doing it on a restricted time limit. It shouldn't be a lifestyle and if…
  • Yes, and YES. I can't wait to get rid of the fat between my thighs! I want to have thighs that don't touch! Back fat, is super unattractive... and the love handles. :) I can't wait to have a skinny face again!
  • Hilarious! hahahaha... :) Thanks for the great advice everyone... after much hard though I did pump up my calorie intake and decided to just work more exercise into my regimen wherever I can. Old fashioned spit and shine! I really didn't intend on taking pills anyway, but it was interesting to hear how emphatic the crowd…
  • It's very interesting to see how many people don't read posts clearly before they post answers lol... Thanks for the few repliers that DID read my post thoroughly and your advice. I was mostly curious to see if anyone WAS using pills... Good to know that people here are getting results out of the hard work and…
  • I am not on pills. Just was curious. It's the first week for me on this diet, so I'm well aware that it could take quite a bit longer before I see results... it's just everyone else is having such dramatic results it seems and I haven't had any and I'm doing really well diet wise trying to stick to healthy food and stay in…
  • Meh, you gotta take the good with the bad here as well as anywhere. If you don't want advice I suppose you don't have to ask for it? Some people that ask are simply looking to reaffirm what they already "know" or "want" to do anyways. These people's advice is about as handy as googling or going to a doctor's office these…
  • I'm 28 5'9 and need to lose about 72 lbs....and on 1200-1300 cal diet. I, too, am more happy now that I'm aware of what I'm eating and keeping track of how much everything is. It's very eye opening. I don't miss the other things that I have cut out (any soda, my sweet tea, etc.) Trying to eat healthier as well as…
