The advice given above is excellent, I would also add kata, kata, kata. Repetition, repetition, repetition.

My father in law gave me this piece of advice and it has never failed me: When everybody zigs...You zag.

Saturday is sparring and on Sunday it is either regular practice or in the summer swimming. Sometimes its both during the summer.

I always seem to get mistaken for some type of Hispanic/Latino, I am Italian American. My wife who is Hispanic gets mistaken for Italian American. There was also that one time when I grew a beard that someone thought I was Lebanese.

Not me, but two of my peeps seemed to hit it off pretty well, they are meeting for the first time in a couple of weeks. The rest of us are expecting wedding invitations.

Great job! WTG

Well because in the time before I was married, I was just plain sick and tired of being rejected, there is only so much a guy is going to take before he seeks out alternate methods. I met my wife through mutual friends, it was a lot less "stuff" to deal with. Just my 2 cents.

This is a journey, and one that will take some time. You need to stay focus on the goal and not the amount of steps you are taking toward it. Stay focused and strong you can do it.

My Dad wouldn't want me to jeapordize my health just to mourn him. If the unthinkable happens stay strong for you and your family and take it day by day. It will get…

For our sport, martial arts in general, heavy lifting IMHO is a waste of good practice time. With that said, weight training / strength training as others have pointed out is very good for what we do. My art is both karate and jujitsu, and strength training is essential. In weight training it's called the split routine. Chest, back and arms in the morning, thighs, abs, and calves in the evening.

When you plan your meals around what you can easily log in.

There is also leg presses, or lunges with a dumb bell. These days I do body weight squats but I do about 200 of them.

Why don't you start with just the bare bar and work your way up. Unless you are going to be a power lifter you really do not need to go very heavy.

You look fantastic. Great Job!

Good luck on your test tomorrow!
