I have used a Panasonic combi for years, much quicker to warm up than a full oven and like you point out, jackets in no time at all. they are great at roasted veg and i use it to rest meat in at 110 after cooking in the pan.

for 5k do a search on google for parkrun. They have 5k's every Saturday all over London, well organised and free!

You could use one of the C25k bridge to 10k programs to help. You may find that a good way to keep your training organised.

Some foods are much more calorie dense than seems possible, it's only since I have been following MFP that i have realised how many calories are in foods. I usually use 75G for a breakfast portion.

I buy the M&S fuller longer meals and and a bit of protein (chicken breast) to up the protein count a bit, the meals are typically 400 calories a pack.

I looked at both and chose the FT4, the FT7 can link to a PC but requires to to buy the additional dongle to do this. I'm happy to type the stats into a spreadsheet after every session so went for the FT4.
