Yea, well doable, why not get a 5k to 10k programme and use that?

1 & 5 Miles

I'm not an expert but I would drop the 3 mile easy and replace it with hill work or strength sessions.

It's well known that the more shoes you have the quicker you will be in your own head.... so: Brooks Ghost 6- long runs and if I had one choice of shoe this would be it. Nike Pagasus 30- Long run and new choice but have had a few blisters so far New Balance 1080 V3- Lighter weight 5 & 10k shoes, soon going into retirement…

The fact that most of the runners ran despite the race being cancelled and the crowd supported them by supplying water makes me very proud to be British! Don't judge Britain by a failure of a single organisation but by the spirit of the people!

You could try using a metronome or mentally counting. I use a count of four steps and from that I can get a feeling of what my pace is like. It's really hard to run at a slower than what feels natural in my experience.

Hi All, great idea for a group and great to see so many here already. my story, finished the C25k 20 months ago and have run probably around 50 5k's since. I'm UK based and we have a free 5k event every week called parkrun which has helped me train and improve. Current PB is 22.55 which I am happy with as my target for…

Thanks, appreciate your insight. I'm in the US soon so will try a pair on and see how they feel!

Bit OT but It would be great to get your thoughts on the Transcend, I use Ghost 6's and am looking to try the transcend but they haven't launched in the UK yet.

The colour run is a 5k so maybe the couch to 5k would be a good entry point for you?

Have a look at the Gore ones, they are petty good.

So, I'm in an old fashioned club in the UK and I get: Affiliation to UK Athletics (subsidised race entry, some free coaching and training sessions) Free entry to club races Access to club facilities (training runs & "clubhouse") Discounts at local running shops and Physio's And most importantly I get: Running and support…

I copied this from the artic marathon FAQ: What shoes should I wear when running? A pair of trail running shoes will work out best. What clothes should I wear when running? A layering system is best, which should incorporate the following: Upper body – thermal layer, fleece layer and outer windproof shell Legs – thermal…

You should just join, you will be amazed how much ability the power of the collective group brings, joining a running club changed my ability so much. Clubs are there to support runners of all abilities you wont be holding anyone back except yourself by not joining!

Trying to get faster! Intervals last night at the club (forgot my watch so entered manually). My wife and I have a coaching session booked for this Saturday at the Battersea running track so hopefully hoping to improve my technique and efficiency.

Yep, welcome aboard, the more the merrier!

So, as I can't find a way to post in the garmin group I thought I would post here. Seeing as we are all in the group I thought it would be good to share goals and future events planned so we can support each other along the way. My goals are to improve my 5 & 10k times. I'd like to go sub 50 for the 10k and sub 23 for the…

1300 is way too low, what is your weight at the moment?

Great, More the merrier!

I can't see anyway to message the group or have some type of forum, might have to do that here?
-
We could do a 5k or Parkrun (for those that do it) league. I'm in one on another forum and we use age grading as a way to keep it more fair.
-
Right, think I have managed to share my stuff and work out how to use groups on Garmin. How many of us do Parkrun?
-
Thanks for adding me!

Hi, Just requested to join the group, the three numbers at the end of my forum name should help identify me. Smiffy
