I'm also looking to add in some complimentary lifting in addition to the WOD's. I'm not sure where to start though! I'm just getting to the point where at 5 days a week I feel like I can add more either before or after the WOD for purely strength/technique goals.

I make an "egg pancake" for my ride to work to up my protein and get some quick fuel in. 1/2 cup egg whites 1/2 scoop protein powder 1/4 cup almond milk few dashes cinnamon cook in a skillet w/ lid on. It gets a bit fluffy. It's not by any means the most delicious think you can eat, but it carries me into my breakfast. I…

I think that even if I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted, truly without concern for health or mental stability or vanity, I would still think about food a whole lot. So I guess I would rather be thinking about food in a way that nourished my body rather than a way that trashed my body.

I'm from Plymouth! always searching for donut finds...care to share?

Hmm not sure Mummyadams...went back and it changes over from IIFYM to Zone and with it the ratios for me. Did you try "Enter your own Ratio" and enter 30/40/30?
-
If you select Zone under "Common Plans" column it will automatically default to 30/40/30

Disclaimer: I don't "follow" zone, but I do think this is an easy way to understand it when using My Fitness Pal: Go to: http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ Step 1, Entering your Stats and choosing the Lean Mass Formula and exercise level Step 2: Assuming you want to lose weight, look at the "Fat Loss" column, and select…

I listened to the podcast but can't wrap my brain around paying for CF and this. I'm not sure if the program would go along with what the gym has programmed and I can't be bothered to juggle more in my brain! But, would totally do it if I had more time/money to devote.

I eat about a dozen eggs a week, so I can relate to getting bored with eggs. This may seem obvious but it had never occurred to me. I had some leftover grilled potatoes from dinner that I threw into a skillet with some scallions and scrambled eggs. OMG twas divine. The potatoes were roasted with thyme and olive oil. This…

Partner DT: 5 Rounds for Time with a Partner: 155 pound Deadlift, 12 reps 155 pound Hang power clean, 9 reps 155 pound Push jerk, 6 reps We used 95 and it was BRUTAL but probably my favorite WOD I've done in a while. I don't remember our time but it wasn't great given 95 was quite heavy for us.

Yesterdays Birthday Dinner. Very simple, but in the most satisfying way. Fried Squash Blossoms with Stuffed Ricotta and Pesto Wood Oven BLT Pizza with Heirloom Tomatoes, Arugula, and Garlic Aoli Dessert was a "S'more": Homemade Marshmallow, Chocolate Mousse Cake, Graham Ice Cream, Fudge Sauce

YEP. Winner.

Soup! Tons of yummy recipes out there, but I like spicy sausage, kale, and white bean soup.

strawberries and blueberries and 2 tblsp protein powder with 1/2 cup 2% plain Greek (I like Cabot) but BLENDED. I do it at night and eat the next day. I also do that with cottage cheese.

Oreo O's and Krispy TREAT cereal...amazing. Anyone remember the Burger King Shaq sandwich? It had bacon and sourdough bread. It also came with liquid cheese to dip your fries in. Horrifyingly delicious.

Yep, I figured would be one thats best for lower impact activities. Seems like would be best to try it in store, thanks for the feedback!

The Champion "Show-Off" Bra is my favorite. You can find them on sale at champion.com w/ coupon codes. No uni-boob, racerback style, and no show through. I'm a 36D and I take a large. It keeps you secure but it's still pretty, I have 3. My one gripe is it can be difficult to take off when hot and sweaty but it's worth it…

+1 for Nike capri's and tights. I'm not sure of the style name, but the ones made from recycled materials are awesome. Very flattering but functional too. I also LOVE Zella, Norstrom's in-house athletic brand. Very lulu-esque and great quality. It's also Nordstrom Anniversary time and a lot of pieces are on sale. I'd love…

I did this, Fitbit throughout the day and HRM for workouts. Eventually I stopped caring about calorie burns during workouts and stopped wearing my HRM. I love my fitbit though. I lost mine and ordered a replacement almost immediately :)

This. And the guacamole! The nut sections pretty great too!

I work in a small office, so half a donut is completely acceptable. We also have one of those people who "half the half" and end up eating the more than one donut in the process. Honestly it doesn't bother me at all. I don't judge people for eating a whole donut, so why would I judge them for eating a quarter?

Today was: 1 scoop protein, 1 Tbls Cottage Cheese, 1 cup baby spinach, 1/2 cup frozen raspberries, and 1/3 cup blueberries blended up with some ice and water. It either a smoothie like above, or eggs + veg + protein scramble or fritatta

Did my first Crossfit Total yesterday 6/16/14. I've been doing Crossfit for 4 months but lifting for about a year: Squat: 155 Press: 60 DL: 195 Total: 410 We will be retesting in 6-7 weeks.

I can't agree with this. As you mentioned, you know your body, and you are mindful of your capabilities. I've done WOD's where I wished I had put 5 more lbs on the bar. I've done WOD's where I wished I had taken 5 lbs off. At the end of the day, has it hindered my progress? Nope! I think it all balances out in the end.…

Just wanted to come back on here and post a little update: I posted to this thread in March that my DL was stuck at 65 lbs. This past Saturday I pulled 185 ! My lifting pal said to me, "the bar is not going to want to move, you realize that right?" And that really hit me. Lifting heavy is about getting way outside your…

I crossfit 3-4 times per week. I'm back to logging after having a long lapse. I am looking to loose weight that I've gained in the past 2 months (about 10 lbs yikes!) I find this hard to do while doing crossfit! I'd love to add crossfit friends as I've pretty new at 5 months in.
