  • I'm a teacher and every year we take class photos. When I looked at my 2012 vs 2013 photo I was shocked at the amount of weight I had piled on. That was my moment. Since then I've lost 15 kgs and still working on another 9-10 kgs. It's been hard especially in the last 5 months to keep the motivation but I can't give up. I…
  • I've been eating a protein rich breakfast, a big salad for lunch and a smaller dinner. It has kept me feeling content because I love snacking on biscuits so I'm trying to get out of that. When I do feel like I'm "hungry" even though I know i'm not, I drink plenty of water or have some greek yoghurt if the craving is still…
  • Hey :) I'm a teacher but in New Zealand!
  • I've tried a few as well that just didn't work and ended up cheating or gaining it all back. The lemon and cayenne pepper diet- I took the subway to work and climbing stairs became the hardest thing I had to do everyday. I was light-headed and thought I'd pass out if I had to climb any more. The eating all i want diet,…
  • i couldn't agree more!!! i have 2 cups every second day in the morning as i make breakfast! It hasn't impacted my weight loss maybe slowed it...but refer to quote!
  • I'm the same way as well!! But I only allow myself to do it once in that week and I'll have a packet of choc biscuits and usually I'm the same weight the next day (but not always). I've also taken to making low carb desserts which are in line with the diet I've been on for the last year and a half and that has helped a…
  • haha love this!! i saw the post and just had to read it! add me if you like! I'm Anna, 28 yrs old. I'm from New Zealand and wanting to lose another 17 lbs to reach my final goal.
  • I've been doing high protein/low carb on the Dukan diet for the past 1.5 years and initially the cravings were there. For me it was just about finding a replacement for that feeling! I have such a sweet tooth and i love desserts so I started looking into low carb ones! It's do-able but you will need to put time into…
  • I think it's different for every person.I know that if I allow myself a cheat meal, it'll just lead to binge eating because that's the way i am. I found that if i wanted to lose weight then i couldn't have the cheat meals but if i wanted to maintain weight then I could allow myself to do it plus any bad foods that followed…
  • My highest weight was 208lbs and it's been a year and a half of hard work and I'm currently at 162lbs. My goal is to be between 143-147 lbs.
  • Giant sports delicious protein! chocolate flavour... I've tried a few and this was the best I've tasted and mixes really well too!
  • In 6 months I'd lost 20kgs and since my body had been losing it so quickly I hit a plateau at my 7th month and the weight loss slowed but I decided to change up my exercise and did a HIIT workout and then weight started coming off again more slowly but it came off! Just have a look at what needs changing either in your…
  • totally normal! I'm always heavier that week and I tend to stay off the scale (i try as hard as i can but doesn't always work), keep working out, lots of water and it'll all be fine as shark week ends LOL!I love that comment!
  • honestly it's about the refined sugars!! Natural sugars are ok but it's that refined one in processed foods that you should not be eating! You'll be getting your daily dose of sugars in natural foods! So have a look at the foods you're eating, the cleaner the better!
  • I take cellucor super HD before my workout, fish oil, a multivitamin and a whey protein for post workout.
  • I know I was just stating that she shouldn't go to either extremes and find a balance. I've learnt the hard way by doing that so I was just speaking from personal experience.
  • Welcome back!! I only just re-started as well...I'm about 2 weeks into it i think! I know you can do it! It's just about being honest with yourself and making your goals realistic :)
  • I can keep up with my Insanity workout. I used to be out of breath during the warm up.... :p
  • Agreed! I've always struggled with binging and hiding my over eating! It's not fun to be wolfing down a whole meal you sneaked into the house and then stepping out to have dinner with the family! Being honest with myself has really changed the way i think about food, I still love to eat it but i now know what the impact of…
  • if you are working out so much make sure you are eating clean and feeding your body! The more you work out the more you need to replenish! So don't starve yourself or don't go crazy with high processed foods. Just try to find a balance of clean foods you can have and high protein for your muscles!
  • Hey Raven! I was at 207lbs about 1 yr and a bit ago and currently 167! I'm also working towards 145 and I know you can do it!!!! :)
  • I agree with the calories in and calories out but I don't think it is just about that! If you are within your calories but you are eating high fats, high carbs and high sugars...then your weight loss won't be as effective and you won't be seeing the results you're after! so the macronutrients is how much of it you are…
  • Today was day 17 for me! this is the second time I'm trying it out...the first time around i never got to finish and gave up sometime in the second month...all those MAX interval workouts! So I'm hoping it'll be better this time because I'm a lot more determined! I'm mixing it up with weights in the morning, yoga on my…
  • I've been doing Insanity for the past 3 weeks! This is my 2nd time doing it. But I think once I finish my 2 months I might look into t25 as a next step! Let me know how you go!
  • I"ve been eating a high protein/low carb diet for over a year now and the weight fell off quickly! I'm always in the red for it but as long as you're within your calories! Your body will need that protein and use it up anyway especially if you are working out because the protein helps muscle recovery!
  • If i go over my calorie intake for 1 day only, my weight tends to spike and it does take a few days for it to go back to normal and this only happens if I have good eating and good water! so it could be that as well :)
  • It's not just about the calories though...how much fat, sugars and even sodium are in those foods. High sodium foods lessen your weight loss as do high fats and sugars. Don't get disheartened just have a look at what you're eating and as you said those pre-packaged foods may not be the best for clean eating!
  • First of all well done for losing those 2 lbs! Your weight is going in the right direction and what I've come to realise is that unfortunately it won't melt off as quickly as you want it to! -Just make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water- at least 3 L or 1 gallon a day. It seems like a lot but it helps wash out…
  • Hey! That's exactly my motivation for starting MFP again! I'm tired of the sabotage and then having to start all over again. I also put on about 20kgs in 1 year after starting my new stressful job and since then I have lost 20kg but then put back 6-7 back on within weeks. I go over in my head at how i struggled to lose all…
  • Hey guys! I'm 27 and from New Zealand. I've come back to MFP because I'm tired of always sabotaging myself after I've lost some weight. I'm ready to leave that negativity behind me and start this journey. I'm getting married next year and it's not just about fitting in the dress but about starting a life with someone and…
