This site is a great starting point. I go by the numbers here for my activity level and I eat the exact same amount of calories every day. I am 5'4" and started at 138 lbs. I am eating 2250 cals per day and am at the lower end of normal for weight gain. :) I am up about 10 pounds at 19 weeks.…

My baby was not breech last time, but I happened upon some research about it. Apparently spinningbabies.com is really great for finding postitions that help a baby turn. I would check it out, a lot of people swear by it! I hope your baby decides to go head down soon!

That's great and it sounds just like my daughter. She has not seen the movie, but knows all the characters and has one of each of the Avenger dolls. She loves to play super hero. Though, she is into princesses, too. Very well rounded, I think. :)

I took off a week before my daughter was born. It was wonderful at the time, but I now regret it. The 12 weeks I got off was NOT enough and I am one of the lucky ones to even egt that much in the US. It flew by and I would have really loved having another week with her rather than going back to work any sooner after the…

My husband was only working part time last time and could not take any time off really. This time he will be taking two weeks most likely. I will be going back to work part time after 12 weeks and he then plans on using his own FMLA to get one to two days off per week until his 12 weeks without pay is used up. This will…

We are a co-sleeping family here, too. I will be getting an infant bed that goes in the bed with you, but only because I could end up with another c-section (I hope not though!) and would not feel comfortable co-sleeping until off of any meds. We happened upon co-sleeping with my daughter when she was a couple of months…

I am 19 weeks and still doing the same routine I was doing before I got pregnant. That includes lifting heavy, slightly modified yoga (for the belly) and running, though the running has slowed down at this point. I will be modifying my lifting so that I am no longer laying down on my back after next week, but other than…

I surprised myself a little when my daughter was born because I take so little interest in baby/toddler fashion. I literally only dressed her in easy to remove jammies for the longest time. My husband is actually the one that enjoys dressing her up and putting bows in her hair, lol. I think I could literally buy a weeks…

Another thing to watch out for in protien shakes is that they often use artifical sweeteners. The jury is still out on thier safety and it is a risk I choose not to take, especially in pregnancy. I have found that a diet rich in whole foods usually meets my protien goal, even though I do not consume very much meat. I would…

OMG, that is hilariously awesome. Thank you for that!! I am actually tempted!

HA! I am with you on wanting the opposite gender just to spite them. I almost hope it is a girl just to rub it in! I think I am just extra *****y, honestly. I am also VERY annoyed by the "how are you feeling" inquiry I get at least a dozen times per day. I do work in a very large IT department though, so there are a lot of…

It looks like quite the contraption, but I am interested. How easy is it to get on? Also, does it hide well under your clothes?

I also did not get stretch marks until the very end. My daughter was born at 39 weeks and they all popped up in week 38... just when I thought I had evaded them!! They faded though and are low enough that I could easily wear a bikini and you wouldn't notice. I am hoping for the same good fortune this time. As a side note,…

This is me. I did not lose a pound breastfeeding until she was 18 months and started nursing less. Granted, I put very little effort in until then, so it could have been me eating massive amounts of deliciously bad food and totally not breastfeedings fault. I am hoping my ticker doesn't hit zero and am looking forward to…

I have wraps every day for lunch. Either with grilled chicken or egg salad and loaded with veggies. I almost always add an avacado. The sides are carrots and grape tomatoes. I also rather enjoy a peanut butter banana and honey wrap, grilled of course. :) I bake a lot, so I have tons of healthy cakes, cookies and granola…

I have a few herniations in my low back and remember vividly how difficult the third trimester was. What worked for me the best was prenatal yoga. I also alternated ice and heat in the evenings. Hulu plus has a few good prenatal yoga videos. I found one that is very effective for back pain and it is only 16 minutes. I have…

Pretty much this. I am also lifting (heavy) and running, just like I did before, only slightly slower on the running and I do the elliptical sometimes instead. I still go full stop on lifting, I just have not increased weights. I also do a lot of yoga, some of which is prenatal now as the bump is in the way. I am almost 17…

I agree with this. Ditch the guilt now, it will be good practice!

I would stand your ground and create boundaries now. The sooner the better because these things tend to get worse after the baby is here. I learned that the hard way last time and had blowups with a couple of family members after she was born, like my dad's wife who showed up unannounced with a Goodwill carseat to take my…

I am 15 weeks and up three pounds, which is about what they expect, so nothing has been said to me. I did not experience any real morning sickness, so I was easily able to eat my maintenence calories (2150) during the first trimester. I gained that 3 right away, too. I imagine it is bloat, but this is my second and the…

That's pretty solid advice. I also use Apple Cider Vinegar for tummy issues and find it helps with water retention a LOT. The body is pretty efficient at self cleansing and eating clean will speed up that process. Besides, eating clean is just a good idea in general. :) I hope you feel back to yourself soon!

What lovely nurseries!!!! It makes me nastalgic because doing the nursery was one of the best memories from my pregnancy with my daughter. Even though we never actually used the room, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I used to sit in there in the rocker and imagine holding her. Great memories. We co-sleep and…

You are more than welcome to FR me and check my diary. :) I usually have oatmeal with coconut, pineapple, flax and hemp seeds in the morning. A wrap (today was egg salad) for lunch with carrots and grape tomatoes. For a snack I eat almonds, apples and oranges typically. My dinner varies, but today is garlic shrimp pasta…

NuGo Organic bars. They also have a non organic cheaper variety, but they are still all natural and GMO free. I eat them here and there and they are delicious. Coated in REAL chocolate. Mmmmm...

Preggo that loves running here!! I was running a few miles 3-4 days per week prior to getting pregnant again. I was suprised by how much I really liked running. Sadly, I have multiple herniations in my low back that are causing issues when I run now that my I am getting further along. I ran a mile this morning and really…

I also plan on making lactation cookies and bringing an assortment of snacks. I will stock up at Whole Foods as close to delivery as I can for some of the healthier organic "convenience" foods. I also plan on sending my hubby out to a local vegan eatery for some of my meals. When I had my daughter I didn't eat any of the…

I do not eat them back because they are alreadfy factored into my calorie goal. I eat at TDEE + 200 calories for the second trimester. This puts me at 2200 per day no matter my workout schedule. If I had a burn well over 400 I would eat more because it would probably put me into a higher activity level. I have no problem…

Great idea!! I think I will do a healthy snack basket from Whole Foods and bring in a tin of cookies, too. Valid point about homemade goodies. We used to get them in the office I worked in, but I think we felt like we "knew" those people.

Luckily I keep bakes goods in the house on the regular since I have a sweet tooth, but prefer healthier options. I know better than to count on being able to bake in labor!!! I do think it would be a welcome distraction in that pesky early labor stage where it is a bit too early to head in!

I plan on laboring at home for as long as possible, so as soon as the fun starts I plan to bake some cookies as a way to distract myself from the events unfolding. I will bring some for me and a basket for the staff, too. Win, win!
