  • Mmmm. Movie popcorn with lots of butter. Good god I wish I was you right now. Enjoy it for those of us who can't.
  • HOw would the salmon be prepared?
  • Ah I see it now. I missed that line. I don't think I would recomend supplements for a cleanse...but I haven't tried that. Sounds fishy.
  • I don't think anything was said about "supplements", I'm not sure about a liver cleanse but I've done several cleanses and I am sure my liver was part of that. They can be very effective, just be warry of anything too extreme...you should still be consuming plenty of calories no matter what you do. I have done cleanses…
  • That's so awesome! congrats!
  • Cabbot cheese makes from 50% and 75% reduced fat cheddars that are out of this world. I am from Wisconsin, so I know my cheese too :-) If you miss really good cheese while dieting, seriously try that. If you put it on a fancy cheese plate, no one would suspect anything but high quality artisan goodness.
  • I like music that makes me feel sexy. Songs that tell me how hot I am and how great I am. Lol. I'm not that hot (at least yet) but it gives me a little extra pep in my step feeling like yeah, I'm gonna be that hot!
  • Maybe you do, but maybe he doesn't. People can be supportive and still say what they think. There's just no need for people to be rude. Your message, in my opinion was great. You weren't being mean but presented opposition. That's all I'm saying I'm in favor of (notice you and I gave basicly the same advice). We are all…
  • Try googling healthy versions of things you do like also. I just found a recipe today that I want to try that is a baked version of chicken fingers using cornflakes as the crust. http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/recipes/quick-recipes/lunch/lighten-up-healthy-chicken-fingers-recipe/ Can't say I've tried this recipe, but it's…
  • Don't be mean people. You should all be here to help, not judge and make people feel bad. What if your MFP friends did that to you? Anyway, while I do think you should try expanding your horizons (I used to be picky but eat basicly everything now...except peas...I still hate those), I think a good way to go about it is to…
  • I do not, but I have heard of this and was going to comment that this used to be quite common. The town I'm from had a "Blue Law" (one of those out of date laws that no one remembers so they don't enforce it but it's too much hassel to bother getting rid of) that stated that made it illegal to have Apple Pie without a…
  • Everytime someone eats a dougnut, a puppie dies. Probably in Sochi. Too soon? I'm actually really sad about this despite my flipant response. Don't let the dounut win and you can be so proud of yourself at the end of the day.
  • Usually I do change into yoga pants to walk the dog. If what I'm wearing is comfortable enough though (not a dress that I'll freeze my @$$ off in) I'll just change my shoes. But I usually change later into comfort clothes.
  • You don't mention much about your diet. It would be most helpful if you made it available for us to see to give feedback.
  • I heard that you should pick up a magazine or a book and try to read for a little while instead...usually you get sort of wrapped up in it and forget about food. If you are still hungry after trying to distract yourself (doesn't have to be reading) for 15 minutes or so, you are actually hungry, so have a small snack and…
  • Did you know your body actually signals your brain that you "aren't hungry" if it routinely isn't getting enough calories? This is part of your body's natural defenses against starvation. This may or may not be the case for you, I just wanted to point out that just because you don't feel hungry, doesn't absolutely mean you…
  • I just want to say I think you are pretty amazing (and your family too!). I wish everyone could do this that needed better access to healthier food. I believe there are great barriers to this for many people. I wish the government would spend there time and money fixing that issue as opposed to worrying about regulating…
  • Honestly, I'm not a huge sushi person, but the one I think seems to always please people that think they don't like it or are hesitant to try it is the California roll. It's vegetarian and tasty. It's gateway sushi. :-) I like spicy tuna rolls, yellow-tail and salmon rolls. I've tried a bunch of other kinds with my…
  • If you are skeptical about what people on here are telling you, please google search eating too few calories. There is plenty of scientific data to back up these claims as well as solid explanations for why your body is responding they way it is. It's not about eating as little as you physically can. I know that seems…
  • Yup, agree. You can't target weight loss to certain parts of your body. You can, however, target tone certain areas but this won't change the fat ratio in that area. Any exercise is good exercise to help get fitter. Eventually you'll loose the weight were you want to, but it might not be the first area to let go of fat…
  • I have seen some recipes that sub avacado for butter, etc. in baked goods...sounds a bit weird I know but as they don't have a ton of flavor but do have a rich creamy texture I think it works. If you are really trying to get them into your diet for some reason (I know they are a super food) this might be a way to do it for…
  • Aspartame (the artificial sweetner in diet coke and pretty much anything else lower cal) is a carcinogen (something that causes cancer or helps cancer to grow). Yeah that's pretty nasty. Honestly I don't worry about it too much...if I can make a choice between a natural low cal sweetner, like stevia, I do and I don't…
  • For some reason, I have a thing about not wearing tops that will show massive sweat spots when I work out...I just feel totally disgusting with sweat spots. I can imagine some people feel the exact opposite and are motivated by seeing this product of their hardwork. I stick mostly with black tops for this reason. Plus,…
  • I only cook 1 meal. He isn't picky so he will eat anything I make (I'm lucky there) but, where I plan to have 1 serving with steamed veggies, he can help himself to 2 or whatever. I try a lot of recipes to try to find things that are healthy but still very flavorful so we are both happy. Come to think of it, I don't cook…
  • I like snacks that take me a while to eat...light string cheese is one. Picking at it makes me slow down. I try to slow down everything I eat and this helps. I drink breakfast shakes, taking them to work and literally taking 1 or 2 sips every few minutes...sometimes it takes me an hour to finish a 10 oz shake. It is normal…
  • I have not heard of Whole 30 before, but I googled it. I have done something very similar, though not quite as restrictive called the Clean program or Clean Cleanse. It was 21 days with a list of no-nos that almost matches the Whole 30, though stevia, most legums and some grains were allowed. I had a lot of success with…
  • The good: I met my 10,000 steps goal twice this week and added a few more exercises into my routine The bad: I had a super bowl plan but didn't end up sticking with it, though I had light beer and lower calorie pizza so the impact wasn't as big as it could have been, thanks to the plan. The ugly: I ate 3 pieces of Lindts…
  • Visit some of the healthy blogger's sites. They have tons of stuff to suite any taste buds. That way, you can find the kind of stuff you like and start learning how to spot and cook healthier dishes. Skinnytaste.com is good as is Emilybites.com. theironyou.com is more focused on healthy eating, as opposed being more…
  • You look so good! You should be really proud. Congrats! :flowerforyou:
