Yes you will hit a plateau doing any exercise. You need to change and adapt so your muscles / cardio vascular system has different challenges otherwise you will not progress and fat burning will be reduced. If running is your thing try doing intermittent sprints or run some hills. Alternatively do a completely different…

Have a week off and grtz on the 30lbs! Here's my 2 penneth - I'm normally pretty good with my diet and the gym 4-5 times a week. I generally try and have a refeed day on a Sunday or Monday when I eat more carbs and more or less eat whatever takes my fancy within reason and have some alcohol. I have been like this since…

Fruit is expensive. Veggies are cheap. You don't really need fruit if you are getting plenty of veg. Try going to a market stall rather than the store. If you really need fruit, frozen such as berries etc work out much cheaper than fresh and have the benefit that there is no waste due to it going off. As for cheap protein…

Less than 100g a day is low carb. Less than 50g is very low. Atkins starter is <20g. Although I lost a lot of weight, I really struggled to get through the day on less than 75g, my workouts suffered and I rapidly lost muscle mass. Horses for courses I guess but low carb didn't work for me.

How do you get hungry mid afternoon if you're having a 700-1200 calorie lunch ??? Eat an apple ?

Eat less, move more

I never eat back and won't do so until I reach my goal

3lbs a week, every week? - impossible

Charlotte I don't now why you are wanting to cut fat as you look pretty trim already, unless you're one of these anorexic girls who wants a thigh gap. Your diary looks pretty good, all nice healthy food, carbs and protein good too. I would just say up the cals to say 1400 and eat more fat (preferably mono) as what you are…

none its full of carb and fat eat porridge instead

yes you can build on a deficit if your nutrition is right, but you need to be at an excess to get really big

KBs are great

I love these transformation threads - congrats everyone!

if you're trying to lose weight you should mix the protein with water not milk otherwise its going to be a high calorie drink and at least then you can make it in the gym! Also have a banana to create an insulin spike

I had some good success with fat loss at 40p/40f/20c but the low carb got me down after a couple of week I was so tired and had no energy, even fell asleep when I sat in my car a couple of times, so very low carb isn't for me and I've changed to 40f/30p/30c, but the fat loss has slowed considerably
-
that's probably why you're fat
-
lift heavy weights - stronglifts 5x5 at 80% of your one rep max (google stronglifts 5x5) and plenty of protein
-
I don't eat back, you should only eat back if you are at the correct weight!

I actually enjoy my food much more now eating healthily, the only thing I do miss is the big pile of chicken wings and nachos with cheese I used to eat, but that is why I was fat....

one foot in front of the other ?

I lost LOTS of muscle doing cardio - I stick to 20 mins HIITS now

TBH I'm not surprised you're not losing weight your diet is terrible. What has being in law school got to do with your diet? (20 years qualified lawyer here running a business and I can guarantee I have more stress than you!) Simply too many carbs, not enough (good) fat, not enough protein and you are eating 1600 cals of…

look on the recipes board ....

not eating enough and your body is hanging onto fat. You're a tall girl so need to eat more

reflex instant whey is the best - 80% protein, low carb and low fat. Its also cheaper than most powders on the market. It can be bought online, in holland and barrett or GNC http://www.reflex-nutrition.com/instant-whey.html/

really you need to be lifting heavy or there will be little or no effect. if you can do 35 reps the weight are too light, you need to be struggling on the 8-12th rep Weights are very cheap to buy if you're on a low income as you can buy the plates as you progress

tbh elliptical isn't very good for fat burning despite what the calorie meter says as the machine works mostly on momentum, that's why its so easy. Stick to the treadmill
