  • Guess I'm the only one who didn't see the picture rather just loving the starwars memorabilia. Happy Star Wars day indeed!
  • Sounds like a perfect time for strength training and core training. Hand in there. Drink lots of water to curb cravings. Good luck!
  • I gave my treadmill the boot and went with an elliptical a year ago and do not regret it. Love it!
  • Not in Nashville but only 10 or so minutes away. Welcome to MFP.
  • I have been on this site since 2009 and have lost a significant amount of weight and never at any point in time did I eat my exercise calories. It is a matter of what works best for you.
  • I'd only recommend Zumba on the 360 if you are kinect enabled. For the Wii, I would recommend MyFitnessCoach (the original not the second one.).
  • This mentality is no fault of the posters nor any one else that has struggled with weight loss. (Not that it is an excuse either.) I honestly believe the poster had no intention of berating "skinny" folks at the gym rather simply voicing an opinion of that "mentality" that seems to haunt many people that are over weight.…
  • Pretty much anything from the "Roaring 20s".
  • Drinking water keeps the headaches away. I had chronic headaches often, 6-8 a day, sometimes more. Not anymore. As one of the many signs of dehydration, is acute-on-chronic headaches, especially if you never drink water.
  • Well I work a third shift, so I log calories all on one day here but are actually spread out via 2 days technically. I believe as long as you are logging calories per 24 hour cycle than you are doing it right.
  • If you have a gaming console, there are many "games" you can get for them. I would recommend Zumba for the 360 ( if you are Kinect enabled) and My Fitness Coach (the first one) for the Wii. And both consoles stream Netflix, so if you have that you can access their exercise stuff. Otherwise, walking, lifting 2 liter bottles…
  • I work 3rd shifts and I find that I eat small meals throughout the night. Actually, it works better for me as I think it keeps my metabolism constantly recharging. Plus it keeps me satiated. Planning ahead always helps as well, then again I work from home doing ER reports, so I don't have a vending machine down the hall.
  • I donated everything.
  • Usually my rewards tend to be more towards new equipment, gadgets and sometimes a new FPS.
  • I suppose I'll be the one to go against the grain and say I was one of those people. For a year I busted my butt, changed my entire lifestyle and had lost nearly 90 pounds. Then my 4 year old passed away and over the course of the last year I gained back 30 pounds. I stopped all exercise and gradually my diet became lax…
  • Welcome. And all your foods are there. If you are adding something to lunch and you don't see it listed just hit the recent foods tab and it will be there and will be added. :)
  • Well I had Chinese take out one weekend....enough said. ;) But I just chalk those days up to an indulgence. Like a wedding or any other event where healthy choices are few and far between. That is life, it happens. Just may have to work a little harder the following week. No big deal. :) Just try to make those days few and…
  • The Special K cracker chips hit that salty chip craving spot at only 110 calories for 27 of them.
  • Although, I agree with you in some respect. The way you come across is rather condescending and grossly negligent in the manner that you have presented your opinion. This is a site in which we want to support our fellow members with encouragement and positive reenforcement. Not by blatantly discouraging people. The people…
  • I work from home and it was a struggle at first as well. I started preparing meals ahead of time, so I could take a break and heat it up quickly and be back to work in no time and still have a healthy, filling meal. Goodluck!
  • Pretty close. Grew up in Mt. Juliet but now live in Gallatin.
  • Thanks for all the feed back!
  • I started a little heavier than you and believe me, you can do it, but my advice would be to consult your PCP before you tackle a strenuous workout regimen. You really need to find out if the extra weight has put any extra "damaging" stress on your heart before you begin. I went in for a physical, stress test and a CBC…
  • Well I definitely like change as I become bored with my routines, so I'll change them monthly. So this month it is 60 minutes of cardio w/ The My Fitness Coach, 3x a week and 60 min of Strength Training, 3x a week.
  • While motivation can help you along this journey, it is really your commitment to it that will see you to the end. I use a few different sites and I always browse the before and after picture threads. They are a tremendous boost for motivation purposes, not to mention.... that a lot of the times the ones posting those…
  • I am also a Gowearfit user and I HIGHLY recommend one, if you want a "bigger picture" grasp on your calorie expenditure. As the poster above me stated, it isn't 100% accurate, but this product has been pretty darn close for me. I've been wearing mine for seven months now and my calculations for deficits using the data from…
  • I have a gowearfit, though it's a body bugg model. At any rate, I swear by it. It has been that one variable that has significantly increased my weight loss. It's definitely worth the purchase, if you are serious about losing the weight and sticking with it. I can actually see my deficit and when I get a 3500 calorie…
  • I am 5 10 or 5 11 depending on the time of day. I usually eat 1200 calories a day throughout the week and 1400 on the weekends. I also sit at a desk for the majority of the day and I DON'T eat my exercise calories. In doing so, I have lost fifty pounds since May. I also wear a Gowearfit, so I know EXACTLY how many calories…
