Don't listen to all of the hateful things I'll say to you when I'm a teenager. I know you did the best you could.

One of my very best friends is in a similar situation and I can't wait to share your story with her. You've made your life work for you and your illness and that is amazing!

He's having oral surgery tomorrow, so he'll be heavily medicated and swollen-faced on Friday. I got him a TMNT box of chocolates, a Creepshow t-shirt (Where's my cake?!?), and a Raphael TMNT bobblehead. Probably should've just gotten him some ice packs.

1 - No 2 - No 3 - No, creepers gotta creep.

Nighttime is when I lose control, but drinking hot tea has helped me wait-it-out a few times.

I'm 30 and I love it. I know myself better now than I ever have, and despite the rumors neither I nor any of my 30 year old pals shriveled up and died. Embrace the maturity!

I'm in a LTR with Diet Dr. Pepper, but not because it's zero calorie (although that may be why I haven't tried to give it up for good). I love the taste of Diet DP! I realize it can't possibly do anything good for me so I've worked myself down to 1 per day. I might one day try to give it up. Today is not that day.

I struggle with this too (especially on weekends and find myself going above 3k) and find that it's usually a result of my own lack of planning. Try to plan a full day of food ahead of time and see if it's easier to stay at goal. I'll try to take my own advice and put it into practice too.

Welcome! Make this place work for you and you can get quite a bit from it. This place has all types. (Bumping your thread to give it some additional exposure) :smooched:

YES. I started in about the same spot as you and it was great. Be patient with yourself and repeat weeks, if needed. I'm now hoping to run a 10K this spring.

Well jeepers, I've been a member of this group for a long time and haven't introduced myself. I've been on MFP for a couple of years. I used to be bigger, lost it with diet and exercise properly - tracking with pen and paper (HA), joined here to keep a handle on it and see if I fancy putting some effort into challenging my…

*gasp* You can't eat a WHOLE banana every day. I'm eating that damn banana....every.single.damn.day.

I'm glad you're going to try at a different time. The people in my gym location vary greatly depending on the time I go. Down with creepers! They distract, add an element of worry, and ruin the focus of an otherwise decent workout.

On the bright side, carrying around a gym bag isn't too much of a pain in the *kitten*.

I yo-yo'd pretty much my whole life, but my biggest bounce was when I lost about 40lbs in 2003 and gained all but 5 back by 2007. I kept it until 2009-2010 when I lost 50lbs and kept it off until 2012. In two years I've gained 20lbs back with quitting smoking, being in a LTR, and not keeping my eating in line. However,…

The benefit of TDEE -20% for me is having a steady calorie goal every day whether I work out or not because the calories are figured on a weekly average of your activity. Just have to be careful if you skip workouts in a week (and eat all the food .... holidays). Otherwise, I agree that either TDEE -20% or the MFP method…
