  • I'm sorry that you are going through such a rough time. Please keep in mind that EM2WL is a process and not really a quick way to lose weight. It actually takes a long time, especially if you've been eating low calorie for an extended period of time. I also found it to be more of a mental challenge than anything else! I…
  • Newtown Square, Delaware County here.
  • The information for the predicted amount you'll burn is available in the Activity Manager. If you hover over the graph it will give you an estimate, but I noticed it always estimates a bit high for me. I'd also aim for a smaller deficit. A 1000 calorie deficit really puts a lot of stress on your body.
  • I'd like an invitation as well! Thank you!
  • Thanks! I'll make these adjustments and see what happens (again!). The spreadsheet is definitely a huge help too. I just need to find my sweet spot to lose. OtiWanKenobi...I've heard others say that these devices might not be accurate at estimating your TDEE, but i think mine is ok. I do gain if I eat above 2100 because…
  • 1200 calories is so low! You guys should really check out the EM2WL group (Eat More 2 Weigh Less) and calculate your TDEE, BMR and take a 15% cut from there. Huge deficits can actually inhibit weight loss.
  • Thanks heybales! You definitely make sense. So ditch the HIIT cardio, then? Should I do steady state cardio? Lifing is just so much easier on me because of his issue with my pelvis. I definitely pay the price after doing HIIT on the treadmill. I get so achey in the hip area and am left feeling very stiff for the remainder…
  • Thanks guys! The last time I did a reset was exactly a year ago for 12 weeks. I haven't lost any of it yet, but managed to lose some inches back in the winter. So I did something right there for a while! I really do eat according to my daily numbers as opposed to my average TDEE, so some days I do eat more. I will take…
  • Thanks! I will stay at this level for a while and see what happens.
  • Well the scale has gone up about 2 pounds since January but I've lost in the way of inches. Not much, but still a small and gradual reduction (maybe a total of 3 inches from various spots...I can't remember off the top of my head). My arms and legs also look more defined and I have more muscle definition now than I did…
  • So I was at moderately active prior to starting work. Now I still stay at moderately active? That means my numbers don't change then. I still plan on doing my normal routine of 3 days of elliptical and 3 days of weights/kettle bells.
  • Just accepted your friend request! :) From my own experience it actually takes some effort to up your calories but after you get there you get used to eating more. Just be sure to pick the right activity level. Initially I chose "light activity" as opposed to "moderate" and I wasn't losing a thing...for months! Only when I…
  • Thanks Heybales! I'm pretty happy with the progress so far and hope to see more inches lost in the coming months. I've decided to take a week and eat at TDEE since it's been a while at 15%. After that...back to 1900.
  • Ok, so here I am a month later. I've been eating 1900 calories daily. I've gotten sick 3 times in the past month, but I tried to stay as consistent as possible. Today the scale showed me about a pound heavier (but who really cares about the scale, anyway)...but I have lost 2.5 inches total from various parts of my body…
  • I was just wondering about this the other day myself. This is good to know. Looks like I'll be eating at TDEE next week.
  • Thanks guys. I haven't reduced my calories at all, but I was just curious as I haven't seen much as far as results because of being sick so often, which makes sense in and of itself anyway. I'll try to get those calories in today but it will be tough because I haven't had much of an appetite and I'm already so behind for…
  • jikchampton, I feel the same way! I also feel like I'm just stuffing myself with chicken, fish, and egg whites lol. This will definitely take some getting used to. I definitely love carbs!
  • Fresh Start...having already cooked chicken is a great idea!
  • Jason, you need to look at the past month of my diary to get a better idea of my diet. The past week has been off because of a double birthday (mine and my daughters) over the weekend and the festivities. I can assure you that I am making a VERY good effort to get the protein in everyday, contrary to what you noticed. I…
  • Thanks heybales! 1900 calories it is! I will keep you posted.
  • As ridiculous as this sounds (or maybe not!) i'm terrified of eating 1900 calories. That's what I ate when I did my reset (at a light activity level at the time) and gained the weight. I suppose now that I'm at a higher activity level I shouldn't gain eating this high, correct?
  • But it seems I almost never net my BMR and have to eat calories back. Does this make sense? I just log in "elliptical trainer" into myfitnesspal and I go by that number as my calories burned. I'm not exactly sure of how accurate that number is. I've considered getting a FitBit to get a more accurate number. I haven't had…
  • You and I must be twins or something! Our stats are almost identical. I did a 12 week reset and then did the 15% cut with absolutely no luck. Then I decided to take a break because the holidays were around the corner and I was so frustrated. Now I'm back and hoping that this will work for me. Maybe you should add me as a…
  • Thanks so much for all this info and the link to the spreadsheet! I really appreciate it!
  • Thanks for your responses! I think I will try eating at 1615 for a while and see what happens. I definitely am not looking for quick fixes. Heybale - What calculation did you use to get my new BMR and TDEE? I always seem to get conflicting answers from various calculators online. Also, my bodyfat is 30.1%. When I started…
  • Yes, it's definitely exciting to feel and even see the muscles now! I just can't wait to get rid of the fat, but you are right...we must be patient. I'm in this for a long haul.
  • Hi everyone, I just completed workout 5A and I feel great! I am doing it from home. I can't lift nearly as much weight as you guys can with the squats and deadlifts, but I've come a long way. I got diagnosed with symphysis pubis dysfuction/pelvic girdle pain during my second pregancy and now, 21 months after delivery I am…
  • You sound just like me with your progress and your diet (except I'm eating TDEE minus 15% which is around 1700 calories for me). I'm only half way through Stage 1 and have not seen any measurable difference. I lost 2 pounds but all of my measurements are the same. However, I do feel firmer in my arms and legs. Maybe our…
  • I'm so glad you asked this question! I am up about 5 pounds and in week 7 of the reset. I got on the scale yesterday and did NOT like the number. However, reading other peoples responses doesn't make me feel so bad. I also sort of wish I waited until after the summer to start, but I did not want to delay the process.
