  • I agree. Moderation is key. I think a few people on this post have said the same as you about being restricted as a child with food.
  • I agree!
  • Thanks! I read the article and the car analogy was good.
  • Protein for me. Cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese, eggs and meat. Protein powder leaves me hungry in an hour or so. If I eat an apple for a snack, my stomach is rumbling within an hour. I'm not sure why different foods affect people differently.
  • This is a good idea. I do this sometimes too and make chicken salad or shred the chicken and make buffalo chicken wraps.
  • I don't enjoy it either. I like to eat good food but I really don't enjoy cooking at all. My husband likes to cook but he isn't home in time to cook during the week.
  • I want your arms!! I just creeped on your profile and you give me hope that I don't have to be 110 pounds to have the body I would like to have. We have similar body types , I think. Right now I'm 5'0 and 146 lbs. I had in my mind that 125 would be my goal weight and after seeing your pictures I think I might be right!…
  • I'm not really a fan of squatting while I'm doing it. I keep being a chicken and deloading. I will get up to 120 pounds and then think it's too hard and deload to 95 lbs. I've done this 3 or 4 times since January. I have no advice but I can commiserate with you.
  • I guess it would almost seem like a waste to prepare a meal for one. I guess knowing I have to feed everyone makes me more motivated, lol. My husband works pretty long hours so I normally cook during the week.
  • I work overnights and then return to a daytime schedule when I'm off because I have kids. I utilize my crockpot a lot. I throw in some meat, add some onions and peppers and some spanish style tomato sauce. It tastes good on its own with sour cream or guacamole or over rice. I'm not trying to be offensive but I don't…
  • I'm totally going to go there and probably lock the thread. Did you breastfeed your children?
  • My son is 13 and eats a wide variety of foods. He plays football and is at a very healthy weight. He eats any vegetable, meat and pretty much all seafood. He will eat stuff that I wouldn't touch. He also likes junk food. He has a good handle on portion control and is very active so I don't worry at all about his weight or…
  • Most ten month olds won't overeat though. Many 10 months old still wake up in the middle of the night to eat too. It really isn't uncommon. I highly doubt he is obese or being overfed. Now by 2 or 3 when children should be active and are eating food it very easy for them to become overweight or obese if they consume too…
  • You look smaller to me in the strong picture than you do in the skinny picture. WTG! You look great!
  • The bench pulls out and I just do squats right in front of the machine. I actually opted to do my deadlifts at home today because our bar is smaller in diameter than most of the ones at the gym and it makes it much easier to do since I have small hands.
  • I agree and disagree. I am pretty sedentary at work. I'm 5'0 tall, 32 and 146 pounds. Since i've been lifting heavy weights (about 6 months), I do find I can eat more and maintain. Probably around 1900 calories or so. I only do cardio about twice a week. If I want to lose about a pound a week 1500-1600 calories is about…
  • My daugher loves Chick-fil-a so an 800 calorie meal for me would probably be a Chicken sandwhich with mayo and waffle fries.
  • I just went through all of the pics I have on this computer and have come to the conclusion that I don't allow myself to be photographed without makeup.
  • I wear makeup if I'm going to work or out and about. I don't wear it if I'm just hanging at home. I feel more comfortable with makeup on and I really like makeup. I don't know why but I have quite a little collection. I think blush is my favorite.
  • I feel bad for the OP and hope she got some good answers out of all the crap. You know the whole "I have to prove someone on the internet wrong" thing? It just happened to me on this post but I'm out!
  • No one suggested doing weighted squats everyday on this post. I really don't give a **** if the guys at your gym know about Stronglifts. It is a good program for beginners if followed properly. Many women on here are looking to preserve their muscle mass while trying to lose body fat and this type of free weight program is…
  • I think eating is good but I also think that using MFP the way it was designed is fine too. If I use TDEE-15% it works out to about the same as if I set my base at 1300 and eat my exercise calories. I'm all for eating as much as you can to lose around a pound a week but I'm tired of these posts. They come up almost daily.…
  • That is starvation, not the starvation mode everyone is trying to differentiate here. While dieting, you will lose muscle tissue and fat stores if you do nothing to prevent muscle loss. Your body doesn't just use fat for energy.
  • I am curious too. A nutritionist may understand that you need X amount of calories to create a deficit and to recommend a healthier diet but most are not going to have the underlying understanding of how the human body works to back up their recommendations. A dietitian will have this training and is regulated and…
  • I work 3 nights a week and return to a fairly normal schedule on my days off. I continue to count my calories from 12A-12A. For instance I was up all day today and ate normally and logged my calories on Tuesday. At around 12:30 am I had 2 boiled eggs and I logged that for Wednesday. It seems to work best for me this way…
  • A dietitian can call themselves a nutritionist but I have always heard them referred to as RD or registered dietitian. A dietitian will have excellent training in nutrition and how the human body works. It requires a Master's Degree. A clinical nutritionist still doesn't mean diddly. I am curious of the outcome too.
  • These are private non-profit groups that provide continuing education. They are not recognized by the Board of Health and not licensed. I still wouldn't trust their "qualifications".
