As I said on your news feed (but maybe it will help someone else too), you can't talk with your mouth full! Talk and laugh and play games with your company. Don't sit there shoving food in your mouth. If you're focusing on making sure THEY have enough to eat/drink, noone will notice you're enjoying a low cal evening. Happy…

Welcome to MFP! It IS a very positive site! :flowerforyou: You're gonna love it!

All good advice. Burn some more calories and eat very light but nutritious. Think... egg white omelet loaded with veggies (no cheese) or wasa light rye crackers (all natural and only 30 calories a piece) with 1 Tbl natural peanut/almond butter or a good soup or salad!

Glad you're back with this! Love reading them!

Try some tummy tea with things like peppermint and ginger that are known to soothe upset tummies! :flowerforyou:

Thanks! Ended up going with a greek salad at the italian restaurant down the road. Fit in to my day pretty well. See my food diary for details.

Ps. Just checked a recipe calculator and if it made 16, they'd be 80 calories a piece.

I thought this was going to be fake sugar convenience food, but it actually looks really healthy! I'll use stevia and give these a try! Thanks for posting!

Deck da harrs with boughs of harry, Fa ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra

Yeah.. that might be an option. If not, you can add it as an exercise everyday. Add "Growing a Baby" as a cardio activity and say it burns 400 calories for 10 minutes or whatever, then put 10 minutes of growing a baby under exercise everyday. That should also help make you laugh everyday... it would me.

I understand that it's 300-500, and that would be over MAINTENANCE calories. So if your numbers on here are for LOSING a pound a week or whatever, you'll need to first change it to maintenance and then add another 300-500 calories. And remember you're growing a baby with those calories, so give the little one some vitamins…

Sounds like the old story about the grasshopper and the ants, but in America today everybody wants to take away what the ant worked for and give it to the poor lazy grasshopper since he didn't prepare for the winter and has nothing... but maybe I should put away my soapbox before I get carried away... :grumble:

I'm always way over in sugar too, but I don't track it because most of my sugars are from natural healthy sources rather than added sugars. There's a HUGE difference. PLUS, I think the MFP numbers are a little low... Here's an article on how much ADDED sugar you should have.…

Don't forget warm-ups and cool-downs. ALWAYS stretch after a workout - slow with no bouncing. Try some yoga tonight or something low impact... walking wouldn't hurt. (STRETCH afterwards!) Feel better! :flowerforyou:

I remember a post where someone had a message from Dave explaining that he wasn't banned or kicked off, he was just sick of the drama, of the same topics/questions coming up over and over and over and people complaining, so he deleted his account. I remember him just a bit, but I started right before he left.

lol It IS pretty. Looks like a giant chocolate & shortbread cookie! There's a good analogy, right?

Aw.. I was hoping for the reader's digest version!

So what's the answer to injury-free running?
-
Hmm... I'm not sure. Because lack of sleep makes your body run less efficiently, meaning your metabolism may slow/not utilize calories as well. I guess I would count a day as being from when you woke up to when you went to sleep? Or maybe log it as literal midnight to midnight, regardless of when you ate what meal... if…

The only thing spark people has over MFP is the recipe calculator. So I use sparkpeople for that feature, but then put all the info in over here. I  MFP. Welcome! And good luck training for that marathon! I'm a wannabe runner who would like to build up to 5k. My best is jogging for about 2.5 miles without…

You MAY be crazy, but you're obviously not alone in that insanity.
-
LOL Wow... I'm very glad I'm not one to sleep-walk or... eat my pillowcase... in my dreams:laugh: Have you heard the legal disclosures on the ambien (or one of the sleeping pill) commercials where "rare incidences of driving or eating while asleep have been reported"? That CRACKS ME UP!! I'm sure I would DEFINITELY be one…

Oh I forgot about hummus! That IS a good idea! I used to do that when I would make big batches of hummus... use some as dressing. Maybe I should soak some chickpeas tonight....
-
Try salsa! It's especially good in a salad topped with black beans and corn.

My sister and I have had food dreams too. Mine often involve pizza.

If I'm out shopping for 3 or 4 hours, I'll count 1 hour of walking at 2.0 mph because realistically I'm walking and stopping and standing, etc... not walking the whole time. If you count it, do so conservatively so you don't overestimate the calories you're burning and throw off your weight loss.
-
I've read that new moms set up their calorie goals for the recommended number to lose 1 pound a week and then add "breastfeeding" as an exercise every day and count it as 500 calories. And definitely make sure you're using those calories for nutrient-packed healthy foods to fuel you and the little one!

I have to agree that if you're not a fan of vegetables, you won't be able to do a low carb diet in a healthful way. Humans are not made to be carnivores. We're omnivores (or vegetarians depending on the human  ). I did Atkins and hated it and couldn't stick with it. I lost some weight eating meat and eggs and…

You're doing so great, sis! And now you know you CAN do it! Remember the conversation in my kitchen several months ago with you saying "if I could just lose 10 pounds...." and look at you now! You're going to be wearing size 8's before you know it which you have NEVER done, right? I'm super proud! :flowerforyou:…
