  • I would think most of us here at MFP have found how pizza can be a pretty healthy entree when made well, and potatoes are a whole food with fiber and vitamins and minerals. What's so bad about pizza with a whole grain crust, natural tomato paste, real part-skim mozarella cheese and something yummy like olives, green…
  • If you seriously do wear your heartrate monitor, I'd love to know what it said. I know it'd be different for me at a different weight and all but I'd be really curious.
  • That's my plan for it! One day. The weekend will be logged. How many calories do you burn Black Friday shopping.....?
  • Woot woot! I remember when I first left the land of obesity! Gained a lot in the past 5 years... more than half of what I lost... and am teetering on the edge of obesity again. But I will prevail. Congrats on the accomplishment! :flowerforyou:
  • Eat some hard-boiled eggs with salt! :)
  • I lost 85 pounds 5 years ago with WW, started gaining a few pounds here and there over 3 years, joined MFP at 185 and got back down in the 160s, quit logging and 5 years after hitting 149lbs, I'm back over 200lbs. It's quite tragic. For me it's not the healthy food choices that are a struggle, it's just the logging…
  • Definitely DO! There are different brands like truvia, purevia, suncrystals (which is a mixture with sugar), sweetleaf, etc. Keep trying brands til you find one that suits you. Just go easy on sprinkling it on... too much tastes AWFUL... you gotta find the right balance.
  • My favorite is the flowery dress... SOOO pretty! I had wondered if you would log forever since your eating habits are in check at this point and your exercise gives you plenty of calories to eat. Looks like from the blog, that's your plan?
  • I would clean your plate by getting a to-go box and setting it AWAY from you.... maybe CLOSED under that bread basket you're so good at avoiding. And refocus on the reason you go out to eat. Is it because this is your only chance to get any nurishment and you better eat as much you can so you don't starve later? Or…
  • OOoo... this sounds good! I'm kinda particular about my sweetners though... do you think I could swap cocoa powder and stevia for the hot cocoa mix?
  • That's exactly what I was about to say. Enter total quantities that go into the pan in recipe calculator and say you ate 1/4 of the pan or 1/2 the pan or whatever. Happy tracking! :flowerforyou:
  • You wouldn't want to lower your protein. It's set at a very low limit as is. Just try to make sure you're getting enough protein... it's fine to go over. Your calculations will be more accurate if you break the food up into specific things, unless it's a standard packaged meal or from a restaurant. For example, if you got…
  • I would have a picture of your jean size (or goal jean size) on your phone so that next brownie picture message with "don't you wish you were eating this?" you get, you can send the pic of your jean size and say "don't you wish you were wearing this?" Okay so a little passive-aggressive... maybe that's not the best route.…
  • I experience the same thing. Moving helps. Let yourself shiver like crazy, do 20 jumping jacks, dance like a mad woman. I also agree with watching your nutrition and turning up the heat in your house. Good luck! :flowerforyou:
  • You look like you're about 15 now and absolutely adorable!! It's like you turned back the clock 20 years! Congratulations on creating a healthier you!
  • This is really good Susan! Wish I could have been there to hear you give the lesson, but so glad you put it on here! AWESOME work!
  • I would just guesstimate... get as close as you can in logging and get a very small serving until you've had a chance to get some sort of idea of how many calories you've taken in... or you can always ask for her recipe for what she's made. That's a sneaky way to discreetly get the ingredients so you can log.
  • From what I understand, it has to do with your browsing history. My ads are "File your taxes for free" (been doing taxes lately) and "Brain Training Games".... not sure why that's there? So have you secretly been waking up in the middle of the night to search cupcake images on google????
  • What a condescending presumptious statement.... How do you know what would make her "look so much better"? And have you ever taken care of an infant? They're pretty time-consuming.... I know young mothers who struggle to find time to go to the bathroom.... much less shampoo, condition, comb, and dry their hair every day.…
  • Fage is the most amazing thing you'll ever put in your mouth. But for a cheaper alternative I like yoplus. 110 calories, fiber, and sweetened with natural sugar.
  • Do you have enough fat in your diet? Somebody already mentioned water, but fat is the other thing that keeps our skin and lips hydrated and supple, and hair and nails strong and soft.
  • The thing is you burn calories (varied by age, gender, weight, etc) just by virtue of breathing, and your heart beating, getting out of bed, sitting down, and typing at the computer. Existing burns calories. For a 31 year old woman who's 5'8" and 225 (just as an example), simply existing would burn around 1800 calories.…
  • Woah! You're burning 1200-1500 calories in exercise 6 days a week? Are you eating those exercise calories?
  • Good! Keeping my fingers crossed for you! :flowerforyou:
  • I concur! While protein is important and I changed my MFP settings to have 20% of my calories come from protein, a healthy diet includes tons of natural real food like fruits and vegetables and whole grains! Try new foods and find out what your favorite produce is! Happy eating!
  • The HORROR! :noway: lol jk  I love eating 1800 calories. When I can have 2000... it's a happy day.
  • Ps. If you're burning almost 500 calories exercising, your net calorie intake right now is actually only 700.... Look for the thread "700 calories a day and not losing"
  • It's good to at least have a recovery snack after a workout. A smoothie would be ideal. With eating so few calories to begin with, I would definitely eat your exercise calories so you don't hit a starvation mode plateau. There's a great thread on this on the message boards.…
  • I've not experienced this but I've heard of it... and for the person I knew who suffered from it found it was stress-related. Sometimes we carry stress in our bodies that we don't/can't even acknowledge/recognize mentally or emotionally.... and it comes out in weird ways. How active are you?
