Sounds like, with your "naturally active" lifestyle, you're in a great place to be really healthy. I also think you're right on with your assumption that you need to get fueled. I am somewhat of a newbie, but right off, you should get a little more precise about your activity level, and your intake. Have you checked out…

Now that's a good feeling! Congrats on your hard work, and reward!

I love how in the first pic, you're just sitting back - kinda taking it all in, and in the second pic, you're straight up proud. You should be!! Thanks for the inspiration.

I posted the OP, but have to keep drinking MORE coffee to understand it! lol Here's a breakdown: MAIN TAKEAWAY: - After only only 3 weeks of a VLCD, one's BMR is lowered by 12% on average. - After 3 months of a 25% reduction diet, BMR is 91 KCalories less than control group ON THE OTHER HAND: - "Overeating" for 20 days…

That looks like a killer hill! OMG! how long was it at that kind of incline? (Looks fun, too.)

Thanks for posting! My stats are in the same neighborhood as yours... gives me hope! :)

Sorry to hear that. Back injuries suck! Hope you're feeling better soon and back at it again!
-
Welcome! Have fun learning all the good stuff that's provided in the forum. :)

Please feel free to add me as a friend! I'd love to support you and have you along for the ride, as well. I"m 42, and currently I am working toward being consistant at exercise. I'd love to collaborate on the eating side of things, though - I love cooking and eating healthy foods (of course, with the occasional yummy…

Not everything at Trader Joe's is healthy, but they rock for having decent convenience food options. You might want to check that out if there's one near you. :)

Before you give up, I'd just try to get a bit more creative. Whether you go lower cal or not, eating more nutritious food is going to do you a TON of favors today, and in the long run. Why don't you check out a fun vegetarian or good foodie restaurant with some friends... Seeing what's out there, that tastes good, can be…

Thanks guys! Yeah - I get totally confused (I have to do math!! Wah!) when the exercise calories are added in. I understand why you do the 1 cal thing. For now, I'm just putting a post it on my computer with my BMR to make sure I never go below. :) Old School.

Yuck... sounds like a rough mental day. And NO need to apologize for sharing how you're feeling. I also feel like it helps to 'get it out there", and it certainly helps with accountability. I'll tell you what - I have gained about 2 pounds since starting EMtWL, and it seems to want to hang around. I am frustrated by that,…

Glad to hear things are going well for you! :) I find it challenging to get in enough protein as well. I have been using some protein powder, but I'm not sure if I love that idea. I kind of want to look for more natural ways to include protein. (I may be making a false distinction, but that's just how I'm thinking). I LOVE…

So cool! Thanks for sharing. I love how in this group, each person's victory feels like a boost to all the rest of us. :)

Yay! I'm happy dancing with you. Patience is SUCH a virtue, but being able to happy dance when the scale moves is FUN! I like what you said about finding out what "works for you". The combination of patience and a bit of tweaking is interesting, and probably a lot like other things in life. :)

Are you talking about your weight gain, or about something else?
-
So sorry to hear that... Sounds like a tough time. From my experience, it's easy to get overwhelmed when you're depressed. Why don't you.... - make sure you are talking to people who care about you - plan to do ONE thing today that moves you toward your goal (take a walk, put together a healthy meal) Depression and weight…

I think that reassurance is really found in the facts, not in our "sense" of how things work. I'd ask her if she's willing to just read through some of the stickes on this site, and the success story thread as well. She may also just need to watch you for a while - I bet that will be the greatest persuasion! :)
-
There is definitely a difference! Your persistance is totally paying off. I'm wondering what "experimenting' you were doing? It will be interesting to see how the next month goes compares to the last one you recorded...
