  • I'm in! I'm looking for all of the support and motivation I can get after a LONG stretch of being pretty unhealthy.
  • I rarely shave my legs buuuut, my recommendation would be to see a dermatologist. If that's out of the question for whatever reason, toss your multiblade and get a single blade.
  • I agree with the points you touch on, but it is a common misconception that hunter-gatherers had a shortened life expectancy. Mortality rates before the age of 15 were 38%, but after age 15 most, and many, hunter-gatherers lived into theirs 60's and beyond.
  • Ew to humidity! I think the key is to not like, completely overload yourself. It's hard with classes, friends, clubs (if you're in them) etc. Do what you have time for so you don't burn out, y'know?
  • There's a woman who owns a gym in the same town as my college and she volunteers her time a few nights a week to do like Full Body Boot Camp, Ab Blast, Circuit type classes for free and there is another woman who does yoga one night a week for free as well. It's definitely worth it to see if your campus has these kinds of…
  • I don't have too many friends on here because I've only recently began frequenting the forums. That being said, the friend requests I do accept/make go through a rigorous selection process. Just kidding. Really, it boils down to a few things. Do they starve themselves? Not accepting. Do they log every freaking step they…

  • Haha! I am awaiting the inevitable fall. Everyone keeps telling me it will happen, and when it does there's nothing you can do about it. I love the clipless pedals and shoes though, my times have improved and my muscles fell better, less front knee pain ( I think I had bad leg form before).
  • You have to watch out for us gingers and our ginger strength.
  • 8/1 - 7.5mi 8/2 - 5.97mi (quick out and back to test out my new clipless shoes/peddles!) 8/3 - 22mi 8/4 - 9.76mi 8/5 - 6mi
  • I am sure you look awesome in your bike shorts! Seriously, they're so much more comfortable to ride in anyway..it's what all of the cool cyclists are doing :p They make stuff to seal up flats called Stan's No Tubes Sealant, all you have to do is grab a small bottle of it and keep it in your jersey pocket or saddle bag…
  • I just started riding with my first pair of clipless peddles and I am soo happy to make the change!
  • I usually have a drink at hand when I am preparing meals..granted it's not always something calorie-free..usually around dinner time I'll have an iced coffee!
  • 8/1 - 7.5mi 8/2 - 5.97mi (quick out and back to test out my new clipless shoes/peddles!) 8/3 - 22mi 8/4 - 9.76 To date total of about 45 miles.
  • I'm in for the month! I don't have a goal..just as many miles as I can put in on the bike! Aug 1/ 7.5mi Aug 2/ 5.97mi (quick out and back to test out my new clipless shoes/peddles!) Aug 3/ 22mi If anyone uses Garmin Connect, let me know! (:
  • Just a mile? Please don't mistake me for judging, I'd like to know more about what made you feel like death though after a mile! It would be great if you got into cycling because it is much better on the joints than any other form of cardio.
  • Like many of you have said, it's definitely possible...depends on what type of activity you're engaging in. Taking an evening stroll even if you're out for 1.5 hours isn't going to do it, but a 20+ mile bike ride at a steady pace will. Today, for example, I burned a little over 1000 calories on a 22 mile ride, moderate…
  • Awesome! I quit cold turkey, too. This was back in March of 2011 and I haven't picked up a cigarette since. It gets easier, I think the third day after quitting is the worst. I even quit drinking coffee (recently started drinking iced coffee again because early mornings and college haha). I just think that it helps, just…
  • I'm with most of you on the salty snacks and I've found that, for me, putting what I *plan* to eat in a bowl and then rolling the chip bag up, clipping it shut, and putting it back up into the cabinet keeps me from coming back for seconds.
  • Feel free to add me if you want! (: I update daily, complete my diary (even though sometimes I go to bed before remembering to hit 'complete') and comment in forums every so often. Bonus: also a college kid :p
  • There's also TONS of websites and videos that go over body weight exercises, or circuits. Even if you don't have weights around the house, grab a bag and fill it with soup cans or a jug filled with water. If you're on a budget and want to work out at home, google is your best friend (:
  • Female 5'8" CW 145 GW 135-140 I workout 3-5 times a week, mainly cycling (outdoors, road bike) and belly dance. Averaging anywhere from 1300-1500 calories a day depending on what kind of activity I've done.
  • Your best bet is to forget about the 'number' size on the tag and just find what fits you best...Or, shop a brand that labels their sizing as w x l. I tend to get my jeans at Hollister (because I have no butt and they seem to be made for that) and the tags are labeled with waist and length, so I know to just grab a pair…
  • My breakfast pales in comparison to some of you guys! I work early so I try and get in as much sleep as possible which for me means cold cereal... Post Great Grains Cinnamon Hazlenut with 1/2 cup of fat free milk. Equals out to about 280 calories.
  • I probably don't monitor what I eat as well as I should..there's a handful of foods that I love but send my stomach into a fit...still eating them. I don't find that the IBS gives me many problems when it comes to actually /losing/ weight but I get bloated so easily and sometimes it's really bad that any weight loss…
  • http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/anne-burrell/lemon-and-herb-marinated-grilled-chicken-thighs-recipe/index.html This is a pretty good recipe for lemon chicken that I enjoy! (:
  • Mapmyride.com is awesome! I (guiltily) use it to map out routes that are relatively flat if I'm having a lazy day :p
  • Woohoo! Doesn't it feel awesome to conquer a climb you've avoided for a few weeks? I've had a few of those myself, lately (:
