Congrats! Time for new pants! The first time people started to notice - a coworker told me that I didn't have my pants hemmed properly as they were dragging on the ground. Another coworker pointed out that it was because they were falling down my hips.

Praeventia cookies?

Excellent! I agree with all these points. I'm still on my journey and plateaued but I'm keeping on.
-
Yes, I had someone ask if everything was o.k., healthwise. It was my signal to buy new pants. LOL!

Logging all food and exercise. (Eating my exercise calories since I'm close to 1200 cal). Portion control. Increase vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Decrease (but not eliminate) sugary treats, empty carbs (rice, potatoes and alcohol) and fried foods. Don't drink calories (no juice or soda, only non-fat milk and black…

The Quaker Crisp Minis are light in calories and now made with brown rice so they're whole grain. Good when I need a salt fix because of exercise.

So true. I can't control other people's behaviour, only my reaction to it. Oooommmmm!

20 years ago, I got a Ralph Lauren suit that I wore about twice before it didn't fit anymore. Last week I wore it to work and several people told me how great it looked. It may actually be too sexy for work. ;-D Not bad for a middle aged lady.

These people don't realize that this is not a 'diet'. It's about a lifestyle change, one that you have successfully made and will continue. Stay strong and proved those doubters wrong!

You can get a good seat at a bike shop and have them install it. But bike shops tend to recommend the kind of seat (or saddle) that they carry. I've been disappointed a couple of times. I've had a Serfas Rx I.C.S., dual density, women's seat for about 2 months now. I commute to work for 40 km round trip, 2 or 3 times a…

Mine is super, no pain, no numb bum. After 3 or 4 tries, it's the best I've ever had. But I have to check tonight and get back to you.

It's the middle of my healthy range for my height based on the MFP BMI.
-
I was acting as game show hostess at our little charity auction and someone told me after that I look fantastic!
-
That would be good to know... What I do right now is search on a restaurant name and it brings up all the entries.

I'm on a bit of a sweet binge myself lately. I'll have to break the cycle to stop the cravings. Water, green tea, fruit if I want something sweet.

Oh and my husband has started MFP because I did so well and he is being much more conscious of food choices and walking the dog for longer periods (lucky dog).
-
I got up and rode my bike to work, even though I wanted to stay in bed an extra 15 minutes.

Pay attention while you're eating. i.e. enjoy eating and don't do anything else at the same time (read, watch TV, walk, etc.)

At 15 pounds, a coworker said my trousers were dragging on the ground. Another pointed out that it was because they were falling down. Then I bought new trousers (size 10 from a size 14) and more people noticed.
-
Way to go! You are a mentor. I've talked several people into starting MFP but I'm happiest about my husband.
-
Good job! You've got to love those little moments that give you added motivation. Good luck on the next 15!
-
Good planning for a treat night! That's the way to work indulgences into your journey. Well done. Now have fun.

I'm pleased to say that my husband has seen my success so he's trying it too. He says that he didn't want to start with me in case he lost weight and I didn't. LOL! but I think it's really that he's seen that I can do it and stick with it and it's really worked. I can help him find the items that we eat all the time so he…

Portion control. Sometimes I just want to mindlessly eat in front of the TV. I keep some Quaker mini crisps so that if I do, it's not too many calories.
-
Good job! You are on the journey had have made a big improvement. You'll make the changes to a healthy lifestyle as you can.

1. I bought high heels for the first time in 10 years. 2. Trying on clothes and thinking, "I look cute in this." 3. Back to being 'the tall sister' instead of 'the chubby sister'. And best of all... 4. Knowing that, with MFP, IT"S NOT COMING BACK!
-
Well done! MFP has also helped me have a whole different relationship with food. It's not about good and bad, off limits and not. It's about eating a reasonable amount of the things that I want.

Thank you. I think a few more sticky posts with really descriptive titles would help in each section. "Should I eat my exercise calories?" "How do I adjust my protein/carb ratio?" "Plateaus and possible solutions" There are a lot of, as you say, naive posts on these kinds of subjects.

After 21 years, my husband and I have so many in-jokes, we must be unintelligible to other people. When we were first married, I would buy Hostess cupcakes. He would eat them, complaining the whole time that they were horrible and too sugary. "Well, then leave them for me," I thought. So I bought a box and hid them on top…

Fantastic motivator! You can do it. And best wishes for a very happy life with your beau.
