I did 120 which was short of my goal of 200, but weather got in the way. Please do another challenge in Sept.

Awesome-thanks for sharing!!

I take the GNC women's Be Whole. I space them out too because I heard your body can't absorb it all and therefore it just gets flushed out.

110 of 200 completed-90 to go!

Thanks I needed all this advice since I've been at the same weight most of the summer after losing every week since February. Definitely not giving up because I feel so healthy.

Beef Jerkey is loaded with sodium, as is most processed or fast food which may be the culprit. Keep an eye on your sodium intake in your diet and drink lots and lots of water. As mentioned the scale isn't always a true indicator of success which is hard to accept when all you want to see is that darn scale moving downward.…

Thanks for the post. What I've learned (or trying to get into my thick head-lol) is that this is a journey. It's not a 6 month race to the finish and then it's over and I can go back to what I was doing before. I want and need to live a healthy long life, it's a forever thing.

62 to date, 138 to go. We usually do bigger rides on the weekend but the last few weekends have been spent away with no bike. The weather has not been cooperating either since it decides to rain with thunder and lightening in the early evening when I ride......what's up with that mother nature!

I did a google search recently on treadmill vs elliptical. One site said the treadmill actually burned more calories because of the running/incline options compared to the elliptical. Plus it said because of the low impact once you actually get the elliptical moving it requires less of your own force to keep it going…

This could be my post! I have/had a very old scale and bought a new one a few weeks ago. There was a 4 lb difference from my old scale, and of course not in the right direction. I tried for 2 weeks to keep plugging along hoping I would lose enough to get down to what my stats said. It was disouraging though not "really"…

I think this is a great idea. Thanks for sharing. I recently tried Wheatberries, it's a grain. I cooked them then added fruit( madarin oranges, apricots, dried cranberries, pineapple) and a little of the mandarin orange juice for a sweet hearty side.

I use runkeeper on my android phone. It takes into consideration your weight, height, sex, distance, grade, speed and gives you the calories burned. It may not be as accurate as a HRM but I like that I can go back and see improvements I've made on my rides.

How about looking in your area to see if they offer any healthy cooking classes. This would be a fun thing to do together and he may be more apt to try different things in that setting. This may be an encouraging way to get him on the road to healthy eating.

Another one you may want to look into is The Carb Lovers Diet. It's endorsed by Health Magazine and they have recipes and success stories in their monthly mag. I've read it and have followed it with success. It is basic healthy eating but combining certain foods together to keep you full longer. there's a lot of…

I'm in! Put me down for 200. I bought a new bike this summer (Specialized VIta Comp), went clipless and have a trip in September to do a 40 miler in Maine.

It's so hard being a working mom. I'm not sure how old you're kids are but sometimes you have to adjust what you really want to do (going to the gym) for something that fits your current lifestyle. There are great DVDs that you can do before or after work. Some cable channels even offer them for free ON Demand or check out…

I use to do the same thing with the low fat cheese until I actually looked at the the sodium one day. Tons of sodium. Good switch and thanks for the info!

So many good discussions here. Julia, not going through that, yet, but love the more natural way to deal with things other that HRT. Thanks for posting.
