Spartan Sprint, May 18th in Texas. Who's going too? and how are you training?

I'm 25 and over the past year have lost 45 pounds, went from 35% to 14% body fat, completed 3 obstacle course races including Alpha Warrior, the Spartan Beast and Warrior Dash and am always looking for fellow thrill seekers. Add me!

I love lifting heavy!! I can squat 155 and deadlift 115 and it feels so good showing up all the guys at the gym and it does NOT make you bulky. I actually went down in size.

The Spartan Beast is a half mile obstacle course race in December in Glen Rose, TX., about 3 hrs north of here. This is going to be my second year doing it and I can't wait!! With interval training, you're doing it one way but you can try to increase the length of your "all out" intervals and shorten your "rest" intervals…

When I started running, I found interval training to be my best friend. I would set up a goal to run a certain amount of time (usually an hour) and then I would just keep going and see how far I could run during that time. My longest run is 9 mi but that was a couple of months ago and I need to get back up there before I…

The first thing to go from me was my butt :(

I should specify the San Antonio, TX area.

I'm near the airport area (281/Nakoma). If anyone would want to go trail running, I go to Lady Bird Johnson park (Nacogdoches/Thousand Oaks area), Frederich Wilderness park (UTSA area), Ingram Park Trailhead (Ingram and 410) plus Hardberger park (Blanco/Wurzbach Pkwy). I'm always down for a good run!! I also do obstacle…

Definitely practice burpees, I did close to 200 during the race. :(

The beast is pretty hard. Definitely get your endurance up since 13+ miles is brutal as it is and then you throw obstacles in....be prepared for anything basically. I did the one in texas and there was a lot of water obstacles, walls, barbed wire and lots of climbing. It was a lot of fun! Can't wait to do it again this…

I'm doing it! Just gotta sign up. Spartan Race has a $15 discount with coupon code RESOLUTION. Aroo! I also signed up for Warrior Dash in March.

I'm always down for a challenge!!! Current weight: 184 Goal weight: 175 I need some friends for motivation. I just started using the message boards and it's so nice to be among people who have the same goals as me. Is anyone else out there training for a Spartan race?

SW: 219 CW: 184 GW: 180 Total weight lost: 35 so far! The creepist thing so far is people unable to recognize me after seeing me for a long time. Not only have I lost weight, I've also cut my hair really short and changed my whole wardrobe. :smooched:
