Went to Target today to check out the new DVF collaboration.

Kayaking in the Keys with my middle son.

Selfie taken at work this afternoon. It was a very slow day since most of the shops at the mall had shut down due to hurricane Idalia. Not us though. Just in case anyone had an urgent need for new chinos, we were open. Who knew I was an essential worker?

Picked up Siggi’s Skyr the other day because they were BOGO at the supermarket. Had one for breakfast this morning and found it taster than my usual Greek yogurt (with a similar nutritional profile).

Wondering if I will have to go to work, at Banana Republic, tomorrow. We are in the path of Hurricane Idalia. I can’t imagine anyone will be that desperate for a new pair of chinos in the middle of a storm. My kids’ schools will be closed, but I haven’t heard anything about the mall.

Beach day with the family. If the sky looks dark, it’s because it started raining three minutes after this photo was taken.

Waiting in my car to pick up my son who just took the SAT. Listening to Sal Khan (of Khan Academy on “How I Built This.”

Played about two hours of tennis (doubles) this morning. Will do something with weights this evening. Probably a FitOn video or two…abs and upper body.

Thank you. It is interesting, considering the amount of shelf space being taken up by various protein supplements, that the average person probably does not require more protein than they are already getting. So who makes up the market for all these supplements? I would venture that most people I come across strolling the…

Way less than one gram per pound. Looking at past food logs, I seem to range from 50-70 grams per day. I weigh around 105 (I am short.)

False. I have milked a goat though. TNP hasn’t been swimming all summer.

I feel like the bods posted by the dads in this thread don’t quite fit the definition. Not that I am complaining. Gentlemen, please keep posting.

The great privilege of being a mom is the opportunity to embarrass your children. You don’t even have to try. When they are teenagers, your mere existence is embarrassing enough. My kids would be absolutely mortified if I appeared with them in public dressed like this, even if it is the de facto uniform for girls from…

True TNP has traveled in an RV

The Old Man Down The Road - John Fogerty (because long song titles give lots of options)

Ironically, it’s a bit more dry than I expected it to be. But reading about the cultural and historical impacts of beer, wine, spirits, coffee, tea, and Coca-Cola through the ages was pretty enlightening. I am on the final segment now.

The blue top that is supposed to be part of our tennis team uniform this season. I hated the polka dot skirt our captains selected, but decided the top wasn’t awful, so I ordered one today because the website said there were only two left in stock. Still not getting the skirt. It was ugly and expensive. I have plenty of…

True…in Boston. TNP has never been to a Disney theme park.

Because the picture is b&w, and has a classic beauty, it makes me think of a vintage yearbook photo.

I love this question because I love dishes. If I had unlimited funds and storage space, I would have a massive collection. As it is, I rotate between these. The top left pattern we bought at Costco about 20 years ago when we first moved to Florida. The lower left dishes came from IKEA a few years ago. The top right plates…

Literally every ad in my social media feed this evening is for some kind of shapewear. Apparently I need to be “snatched.” It’s invasion of the body snatchers.

Filtered and not

Getting ready to volunteer at the concession stand. Friday Night Lights kick off tonight.

Yes. Shark fin soup at a Chinese wedding banquet my husband and I will forever refer to as “the Fear Factor dinner.” HYE knocked on the door of your childhood home to meet the current residents?

Lil’ sous vide egg bites Has a nice ring to it.

True. Just once. TNP has season tickets for a local sports team.

Just dropped my son at school for a pep rally before tonight’s first football game of the season. Now I am getting ready to go for a bike ride before it gets too hot.

Tried this top and leggings on in Target yesterday. Loved the color and style, but the material was so warm, I was practically sweating just standing in the fitting room. I suppose it would be good for an outdoor workout in a cold climate, but in August in Florida, it’s not going to work. Although I guess it could make any…
