  • Sitting at home one night by myself. I just realized that my life was passing me by, and if I didn't change something, this was going to be the rest of my life: sitting at home alone watching tv. I didn't want that, so the very next day, I finally got the strength to stop using food to numb my feelings. Best decision I…
  • I apologize if this is inappropriate, but you are so *kitten* sexy. I know exactly the walk of shame you speak of... not wanting to get out of your car because people will LOOK at you. I used to weigh 262, as of today I weigh 144. It really is a whole new life. I wish you much happiness and success :)
  • what you eat makes a big difference. For me, a breakfast of meat/eggs/veggies and a fiber one bar, and then a dinner of meat and veggies with a Skinny Cow ice cream cone for dessert usually comes to 1200, sometimes 1300 if I have a little snack. I dont feel starved, and I'm losing weight. But the key (for me anyway) is…
  • Somehow... I now have a thigh gap. I did NOT try for one, I am not thigh-gap obsessed, but I have one. I think it's because my main exercise these past two and a half years has been walking - my legs are super toned and nice for the most part. And while I try very hard not to buy into the "super skinny" thing - I think…
  • For me it just took time... I love take out too, and what worked for me was having one "free day" a week where I eat what I want (within reason, I don't binge). After doing that the shame went away mostly, I think because I felt like after eating well and exercising all week, I DESERVED that big plate of Thai food. Today I…
  • congrats, you're doing great :) I agree with what another poster said- lose the weight yourself (I have no doubt you can do it), and save the $$ for skin surgery :) I've lost close to half my body size (115 lbs) through diet and exercise. I promise the longer you do it the easier it gets - it turns into a routine. Good…
  • I need to lose 12 lbs to hit my first goal of 135. Weight loss has gotten harder now that I'm smaller, and I have to fight for every ounce lost... but I want to lose this 12 lbs by New Years. After I post this I'm going to go work out. I'd like to be down at least a pound by next weds, if not 2.
  • You've done amazing :)
  • I'd like to hear what other people eat with their 1200. I have mine pretty much down to a science, but I"m still open to new ideas. Lately for me: breakfast: jimmy dean delights turkey sausage croissant & a cup of broccoli - 330, fiber one streusel bar - 150 (I like to eat two larger meals per day instead of 3 smaller…
  • Its been different at various stages of my weightloss. Right now it's "anything but food". Obviously this excludes my regularly scheduled food - I'm not saying I don't eat! What it means is when I'm stressed/sad/bored/whatever trigger, I can do anything but turn to food. I can go for a walk, go shopping, call a friend,…
  • I have a waist even when I'm sitting :)
  • Also, I think you need to look up the definition of "sad". Death is sad. Suffering is sad. Folks talking about a holiday as a target date for weight loss? Not so much.
  • I... what? We're not talking about putting up decorations this month, we're using Christmas as a goal to reach 20 lbs lost. You wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?
  • Does someone want to make a group here for it? If not I can, if you all are in and will post :)
  • I'm in - I have 15 I'd like to lose by xmas. Should we start a group here or something? I'm pretty serious about this, Ive lost a lot of weight and am so close to goal, but these last few pounds have been hard - iffy motivation, ect. It'd be cool if there was an active group we could all post on from now til xmas to keep…
  • I can't eat fruit - well for one I don't like most fruit, but when I do eat it (except for bananas), it just makes me ravenous. I can be fine, just a little hungry, eat an apple, and 20 minutes later I'll be hungry for a big dinner. I don't mind liking/wanting sweet stuff, I don't see it as a problem, I just need to figure…
  • RibStabsHeart - I might be able to do a hard boiled egg if I was eating something sweet alongside it.... that's a good idea, I love hard boiled eggs but I never think to eat them for some reason. I'll boil some up today for breakfast tomorrow. Anyone know how long a hard boiled egg keeps in the fridge? I'm thinking 2-3…
  • Nouurann that sounds delicious actually. I wonder if I could chop up some fresh kale or spinach and add it in - I really like to get in some veggies with my breakfast. I might try that tomorrow, I've got bananas that need eating anyway. Cinnamon counts as sweet, and I'm fine with fake sweeteners. threnjen - I wish I could…
  • I was overweight for a long time. I tried many times to lose weight, but one thing all those times had in common was, whatever way I tried, be it Weight Watchers, Atkins, Slim Fast or anything else (and I'm not knocking those programs), I went SUPER STRICT. Told myself I wasn't going to have anything sweet or junk foody…
  • Thank you :) Today was a gorgeous warm day here in SF, and I spent the whole day in a tank top - it felt great :)
  • I'm almost done (only 18 lbs to go), but I've lost 114, which is pretty much a whole person. Just popping in to say you CAN do it, and feel free to add me for support :)
  • Went to buy a new skirt for a date, and tried on some other stuff for the heck of it - and every single item I brought in the fitting room was a small. Its still kind of surreal to me - I used to be 262 lbs, size 24 pants, 42DD bra, XXL or sometimes XXXL shirt. Now I'm in a small? I mean not everything small fits, you know…
  • I have the opposite actually - my heart likes to speed up for no reason, and just like you, when I eat a meal high in sodium or just a big meal in general, my heart rate goes up.. although in my case it goes from 70 to 100 or so. I find it helps if I drink a lot of water with big meals... anyway I know that doesn't help…
  • Oh, and after I eat meat and veggies and fats all day? I have an ice cream sandwich smeared with cookie butter for dessert. I save 200 calories for it each night. The dieting life is hard, yo. :)
  • In June 2012 I weighed 262 lbs. I started a new regimen - eat healthy six days a week (lots of veggies protein and good fat, minimal carbs), walk one hour a day six days a week, and sunday? Sunday is "Free day". I don't call it "cheat" day because I'm not cheating on anything. It is not cheating to allow yourself to…
  • This is only my opinion (Yeah, that's just like, your opinion maaan), but when you binge you're doing it to fill feelings of emptiness, sadness, some kind of bad feeling. The food covers those feelings up. WHen we start trying to eat healthy, it's almost like a drug addict getting sober. Everything they used to avoid is…
  • I don't judge. It's an addiction like any other - like heroin, or cigarettes or gambling or sex. it's possible to become psychologically addicted to anything that makes you feel good. I read about a couple in China who were so addicted to videogames they neglected their toddler til he died. And just like any addiction,…
  • Started in June 2012 when I was 40 at 262 lbs. Currently at 148. 1200 calories a day six days a week, on sunday I eat what I want, but don't consciously binge - just, if I want pizza I get pizza. I've been taking a break from exercise but through most of my weight loss I walked one hour a day six days a week. Did not eat…
  • congrats, you look great! I remember hitting Onederland, I was so happy :)
