Thanks for the warning. And thanks for confirming that pharmacists actually know (or should know) more about medicine vs nutrition than most doctors. (At least my present doctor has not tried to tell me that eating a balanced diet should negate the need for vitamin/mineral supplement.)

Interesting to note that having your friends notice "tends to make me want to stop for some bizarre reason." I have the same reaction. A shrink once told me that I use my weight to hide from people. Maybe that's the answer. I know I have an over-blown need for privacy. Probably from growing up in a "shame on you"…

Just a note to say I'm losing again. Just stick with it--add a little fat, and some salt--it helps. Sounds counter-intuitive, but it's working. I have a little more energy. Still adjusting the "diet" to try to fit macros. That really helps, too.

Glad you're back! Maybe we can help each other stick with it this time. :)

Tu to all. So glad I found this thread. I had no idea that not getting enough salt could make me feel weak. Been wondering what was wrong.

Great video! Have you put the recipes on MFP? Or do I have to get them from YouTube?

Hi there. I'm fairly ;new also. Welcome. Good folks here, by and large. You'll enjoy your participation.

Diabetes is a bummer! Mine is type 2, but I'm getting over it (using Atkins, low calorie/high fat WOE). My gluc readings are within 75-125 range now without meds. I don't know anything about type 1. So I can't help you with that. I assume you are already under the care of an endocrinologist. If not, get there. What I can…

Maybe we (our current society) have a warped idea of overweight. Most of us have jobs, families, etc. Just maintaining our weight really shouldn't take up so much time and effort. I know I am lazy, but I want time to develop my mind also. Right now I am trying to learn to write (book), and I find research, etc., takes time…

I am the odd wad that loves the Atkins induction menu. No, that's not the blessing you might think. I can EASILY eat 3000 calories a day on this menu. CICO does count. I am still losing the same 5 lbs over and over. That being said this WOE is definitely good for me. I am diabetic, and my glucose readings are in the normal…

Me, too!

I call my bingeing "grazing" because it happens at night, and it is just steady eating of anything that doesn't bite me first. Revise that. Am now on Atkins program, and I haven't eaten anything that isn't an allowable food lately. But 3000 cal/da is still 3000 cal/da! Not every day, mind you, but enough to stop my weight…

Do something right? Happy! :) Do something wrong? Sad! :s Do nothing? Worst of all ! :'(

Daily, record on another site, just to help me focus. Weekly, record here. Measure on 1st of month.

It's a phase until it's not. Depression is a downward spiral. Just reaching out here is a beginning to pull out of it. Keep going. DO three things each day. Any 3 things that you can see. Productivity is encouraging. Get some sun. Just sit there, or walk, or whatever IN THE SUNLIGHT. Try for 10 min/da. Meditate.…

For myself, I'm having trouble with exercising. I know that I have to do it, but there's a disconnect between "have to" and "do it." Oh well, just a personal problem--so suck it up! What's your problem?

When did you see your doctor? Seems VERY odd that you could be in Keto for 6 months without losing weight--unless you are eating too many proteins? or fats? Maybe a medical review is in order?
-
Thanks, Dragonwolf. Just finished nutritional checks on all of these products. Carbs too high for now (still on induction), but will keep the info for later. Along with anything more that someone may post?

Thanks, guys. I was almost afraid to ask--breading in a LC group? But you came through. I just find I miss a little crunch. Seems liquid takes the crunch out of pork rinds and leaves the fat, so maybe not use them for frying, but hopefully will work on "oven fried." Are almond, coconut flour, etc. available in regular…

Thank you.

Thank you. I have looked at some. Almond flour is mentioned, and pork rinds. Also coconut flour. There must be soy flour somewhere? There's soy everything else. Looking for more choices.

I just throw a couple of tablespoons of ground flax seed into some part of my day--eggs at breakfast? salad? cooked veg? You can hide them almost anywhere. You also get omega 3 with them.

I love this recipe. I also sometimes mix my ground beef with Italian sausage, then make burgers. Nom, nom.

Higher protein is for building muscle. More fat/less carbs for losing weight. Use a chart to find out how much protein you need to maintain muscle, because lazy body will use energy from muscle tissue (protein) to make glucose before using fat. Don't really understand all the chemistry involved, but seems to be easier to…

So happy for you! I too hate to exercise. Mostly because I don't want anybody to see me.

Yes. I check twice daily, and the reading is higher in the morning. This is standard for diabetics :( It's called "dawn phenomenon" and just means that your liver releases some carbs just to get your day started. Keto brings the readings down! (Hoping to get off the meds altogether within 6 months or so.) Just don't get…

If you're feeling well, I wouldn't take it. BUT--you should see your doctor and have him check your A!C, etc. Apparently you didn't take the metformin very long, so you shouldn't have much of a reaction to going off it. Congratulations! Do let your doctor monitor your progress, and I hope you have an enlightened doctor. If…

Thank you for the info. Still researching. I am a fan of Atkins, and have had some success with that. Then I discovered I had Diabetes 2, and let the doctors scare me off Atkins. Wow! I have learned that this D2 thing is a real trip! Any medication that actually effects blood glucose reduction automatically makes you…

Everything seems harder as you get older. LOL But the earlier you start, the easier it is to keep going. It's a case of "use it or lose it."

Hey, even Jillian says she hates to exercise! Best advice I have gotten is, "eat the frog first." It means do your exercise first thing and get it over with. Willpower comes from seeing results, so we have to earn it.
