Just a note about the weight loss. You are probably adding muscle, which is more compact than fat. Take regular measurements. Your scale will lie. Your measurements won't.

My first line of defense is to postpone the "cheat." I tell myself I can have it next week or next month. By the time "next ___" rolls around I don't crave the treat any more.
-
The "fog" is what they call "keto flu" and will be temporary. The heart stuff you need to watch closely and talk to your doctor if it doesn't clear up like, tomorrow.
-
How about "appetizing adipose?" o:)

You have amazing self control.

@Kitnthecat Thanks.

@Jane, I missed your question about the Swiss chard. I plant the rainbow kind so it is very beautiful with orange, magenta and Ok, I'd better get going, lots to do. After the gardening, I'll make 2 dozen bacon and egg muffins to take with me. Have a great weekend ![/quote] Couple of questions: Where do you get the seeds…

This!!

I'm happy for you. And encouraged for me. WTG!!!

@Knit--They have a seaweed felted sort of thing that is used to wrap sushi. You might try wrapping your egg roll mixture in that. Don't know what it costs, but it sounds interesting.

Not only *kitten*. I have a birthday coming up and plan to eat: fried fish from Captain D's, 1 slice of carrot cake, and a double dip of chocolate chip mint ice cream from Baskin Robbins. This is the only time, birthdays. I'll think of something for Christmas, but by then I hope to have some great recipes (like fatbombs).…

Can you give me the recipe you used, please. I love b&b pickles but had given them up because of the sugar. After I try your recipe, I'll attempt to substitute stevia. (Raising my own. It'll be ready by then.) Also, starting a new routine with kettlebells. (Can't keep up with those workouts y'all do.) I have one…

What kind of pickles do y'all eat? My bread and butter pickles have sugar in the pickle juice. And I don't like dill pickles. So?
-
Love this recipe. It's wholesome, simple and can easily be changed or added to in so many ways. I hope to use it for my new pizza base. My DD misses pizza. Me, I miss beans and cornbread.

I'll try this "DE." Reading these threads can almost make me wary of LC sometimes because of all the different supplements we talk about. Dr had me on so many pills some while back that I shudder to think. So I look for the supps that seem to address more deficiencies or problems. I'll buy one package and try it out. Also…

TY KETOGENIC. I'm still pretty new at this, but it seems to be working well. Will try cutting back water, since it's a nuisance, and I don't even like the water here (Charleston) even after it's filtered. I put a couple slices of lemon or lime in the pitcher.
-
That.

Ty for this information. I started Atkins in March. Still in the "learning" stage as far as staying in or out of ketosis. Actually, my glucose readings dropped dramatically after about a week. And I was trying hard to get at least a gallon of water every day (plus coffee, plus diet soda or tea), so I spent so much time in…

Along those lines, My next Social Security check is due on Wednesday--and we are buying a small chest freezer. (not only can't afford anything bigger, there are only 2 of us and we cook most of the time, and we don't have room in our apartment for anything bigger anyway). I am SO looking forward to being able to freeze…

Kitn...Sometimes being ignored is the ultimate signal that you are doing your job well. So well that nobody else has to think about it--until you don't do it, or make a mistake. Take comfort. This too shall pass.

HF is high fat. LCHF...sometimes seems more emphasis on the low carb part. Hand in glove----
-
My 2 cents: don't minimize the HF part of this WOE. That's what keeps me away from the chocolate and chips!

You can also order them online (from Amazon or Lowry's and all the other usual places). Lowry's offers envelopes to microwave--like popcorn. Freshly "popped" they taste even better, but like popcorn not all pieces "pop".

I don't like the water we have here. But I slice up a lemon or lime or drop a strawberry or 3 into the pitcher, and that helps. As for exercise, wait a while. I hated exercise, but after losing 20 pounds--it's not too bad. Actually joined a gym and go 3-5 times/wk. Who'da g thunk!! Unfortunately, patience is key. We're…

Consider getting a good filter from Amazon or some such. There's one called Zero Water that does most contaminants, not just lead. Good luck with that. Honestly, none of us who use city water can be sure of what we're getting unless we test it ourselves and/or use a good filter.

There are 2 foods that I have never been able to put in my mouth. One is pig's feet (a southern delicacy?). The other is sardines. I have tried. I put the little fish on a cracker or toast; I get it about 3 inches from my mouth; and I just can't do it. I'll try kippers. Maybe if they don't look so oily?

At the age of 73 I finally just got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I took over my own health (still see doc but I do what I think is right). I'm doing much better, thank me (and God--not necessarily in that order).
-
Best of all! I'm still working toward that--and other improvements in health. Will be going to doc on Monday, and I'm using the weight on his scale since I think my old scale has seen its better days. Will post weight on Monday. Congrats! I'll be joining you in abandoning diabetes meds soon.
