I would just do what you're doing now. I stopped smoking six months ago and I didn't notice much of a difference. Besides, you don't need the stress of cutting more calories while trying to quit. Try leaving it the same, and if you find yourself stuck and not losing cut by 100 calories a day until you start losing again.…

However many pounds you can handle and still do 8-12 reps to start. I mean bridge work as in yoga, where you lay on your back with your knees bent and raise your bum off the floor (whilst engaging said bum muscles). Look on youtube. I'm sure you can find a video of it.

Why choose? I do strength, a little cardio, yoga, and whatever else strikes my fancy. So long as you enjoy and get results, who cares?

Sqauts, lunges, leg press, step-ups, bridge work.

Eating clean, mild deficit, gym at least 4 days a week. Lot's of weight training, a little cardio, and yoga.

Here is your answer: http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=56507 "A study from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, in the October 2001 issue of the Journal of the American College of Nutrition, showed that three 10-minute bouts of exercise, and two 15-minute bouts, and one 30-minute bout were each just…

It depends what you mean by "healthiest". If by that you mean the longevity of the people who follow it, that would be a traditional Japanese diet. Lot's of rice, veggies, fish, and sea vegetables. Actually, Monaco has the best longevity, but that probably has something to do with being able to afford great health care.

It is true that you cannot lose weight and gain any large amount of muscle at the same time. So while its a good idea to weight train while losing so that you maintain more LBM, its either bulk or cut. Casein is not vegan by the way. It is a milk product. I eat a plant-based diet, get plenty of protein, and I lift pretty…

She's amazing! So inspirational. Thanks for showing us such a good role model who proves to us all that you can be fit and buff at any age.

I passed up birthday cake at work (that was garnished strawberries and Oreos!). Then at the gym I did my first solo set of assisted pull-ups.

This is what my PT has me doing. Three sessions of intervals per week plus my weight training. Beats the heck out of doing long cardio sessions 5 or 6 times a week.
-
Yes, this. I eat a mostly plant-based diet, but I don't like labels at all. I think if someone eats a mostly plant-based diet and a litte fish, or has the occasional cheese pizza it isn't the end of the world. There are all sorts of plant-based diets and anyone who makes the effort helps the animals and the environment. So…

About 15 minutes in traffic after work, but its a Lifetime Onyx gym and completely worth it to me. I go four times a week, and on the off days I do yoga or something light at home. On the weekend it takes me 5 minutes to get there from home.

If a man asks a woman out, he should pay. And if he expects something in return there should be no second date.

I work out after work. I usually don't finish my workout until 8:30-9:00 PM. I don't do early. Ever.

Awesome! You look great. You should be very proud of yourself!

Physique 100%. I'm way more concerned with body composition than I am with weight. When I was younger I was worried about weight, but the more I learn the more I realize it doesn't mean much.

When I actually look forward to going to the gym after work. I never thought that would happen!

Walking can help you lose weight which will make your legs slimmer, but we lose weight all over our bodies at the same time. Lunges, squats, step ups, and leg press will make them more shapely, as in muscles.

Feel free to add me if you wish. You seem like an interesting person and I think I've got this diet and exercise thing down pretty well. I'd be happy to help with support and motivation.

I'm vegan. I get my protein mostly from setain (make my own), tempeh, quinoa, lentils, and beans. I occasionally indulge in fake meats, but only the ones made by Tofurky as they use whole soy. Since I weight train, I also have one smoothie with protein powder per day. The protein powder I use is a mixture of hemp and pea…

This! I mean, the gym go to is huge and and has plenty of weight equipment, but there always seem to be a group of people standing around and just gabbing away on that one particular machine that I really need to use. That's about the only thing that annoys me. If you aren't going to use it, move on!

You look fantastic! Great work. Keep up the weight training!

So I can carrry more shopping bags at once! Oh, okay. Really, its because of health and that I like it. Exercise is (almost) the best stress relief in the world.

If you want to maintain and build muscle while you lose weight, don't do too much cardio. My personal trainer has my cardio goal set to three 30 minute interval sessions a week and lifting 4 days a week. Also, I keep my calories around a 20% below my goal weight TDEE. I have 25 pounds to lose and I'm losing about 1 pound a…
