I consider my morning shake pretty healthy, Vega Protein and Greens, powdered PB, cocoa powder, 50 g frozen banana, and a little ice.

I am 5'6", 150 lbs, age 34, there are also a couple of wicked hills on my walk but only a 200 ft elevation gain (I also use a garmin hr/tracking device). I do trust my garmin device for things like walking, hiking, running etc but not so much for group indoor fitness and weight training (obviously) but still use it anyway…

My fast-ish walks (15 min miles) I average a burn of 100 cals per mile. In an hour long boot camp class I have burned close to 900 calories. I use a heart rate monitor for all of my activities. I think we can't compare our burns to anothers since there are so many things that could make a difference from one individual to…

I don't suggest taking a binging break, that would be a bad idea and could put someone on a bad track. I just know for me taking a "number obsession" break really helped me. I still ate what I would while logging and was still "dieting" (I hate that word), and getting in my normal workouts.
-
I agree with others about taking a break. I was staying at the same weight, while a healthy weight, for a few months. I was obsessing about every bite and every calorie during this time and probably stressing myself out. I took a logging break but still ate what I would if I was logging and what do you know I dropped a…

Lose hopefully 5 lbs by my Florida trip at the end of April, get a little faster by July for a 10K (annual Peachtree Road Race), and goal of 15lb, maybe 20, by the end of August for my birthday trip to Mexico.

Went to the office gym at lunch, not my favorite gym. Mostly because jerks can't put stuff away! I usually have the free weight room to myself at least at the time I go. I did workout B today, I have to get fancy to do DL here, use some mats and whatnot to get the bar up to heights. Things also feel heavier at this gym…

I do usually 4-6 days a week. I use Vega One which is more like a nutritional powder vs just protein (won't list everything in it), I mix a scoop with powdered peanut butter, cocoa powder, half a banana, and ice.

Haven't updated in a few days. I will just start over instead of trying to go back. Yesterday I took a rest day, I normally would go to the park and walk but it was cold (for GA) and rainy, instead I put on some music when I got home and danced around the house while I cleaned (and no, I didn't log it as exercise ;) )

SL rest day for me. Went to the park where everything is starting to bloom and the temp was in the 70sF. Walked 2.95 mi in 43 mins.

So after joining the new (to me) gym today: 5 mins on the row machine Squats: 5x45lb (working on form now) OHP: 5x37lb (interesting that I was doing 45 at different gym, betting that PF was wrong) DL: 5x105

Definitely worth the cost for me. I know cost will vary, I paid $100 for an hour. I couldn't afford that to hire him once a week long term, but for one time and maybe every now and then it is worth it. Plus, it got me into the "scary" gym and more importantly, into the powerlifting only room of the gym (joined said gym…

Hi everyone, I am a bit late but want to join in. I started SL on Feb. 9th. I was getting to the point of feeling very awkward about my form, especially on my squat. I decided to hire an olympic lifting coach for just one session so we could go over form. Well I had been doing my squats quite wrong and my deadlifts a…

I agree. My hips keep me "bigger". When I was at 175 I was mostly in a US 14 but some 16s. Now at around 150 I am in a comfortable 10 and some 8s. I even still wear some of my 12s and 14s even though they are a bit big.

I completed my 6th SL5x5 workout: Squats 55lbs, Overhead Press 45lbs, and Deadlift 95lbs. I am afraid to do more on my squats until I know my form is right. I have an appointment with a trainer on Thursday to go over technique. Really excited about it!

Maybe because of the incline? On my outdoor walks at a good pace (usually 4 mph walking) I burn ~ 100 cals on average per miles, this includes going down big hills, flat land, and up hills. So maybe if I was only walking up hills for a mile I would probably burn more than 100 in that mile.
-
I just started SL5x5. I completed the second session yesterday. So far I like it.

I also think you should try eating more. And low carb is not necessary especially if it makes you feel bad. That being said, I was having almost constant dizzy spells with a few that felt like I was about to black out. I went to the doctor (as you should), and the dizzy spells were from a sinus infection with fluid in my…

I too like others get a high HR. About 7 yrs ago when I started going to the gym I was so freaked out by it (190-200 bpm fast walking/jogging) that I talked to my doc about it and they did a stress test. Everything was normal and they performed a blood test as well and that is when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's…

I go to my local planet fitness. It has everything that I currently need for a good workout. The only thing I wish it had is row machines but I can get past that. I have recently started the workouts in the New Rules of Lifting for Women book and so far I only use the dumbbells, which PF has an abundance of, the preloaded…

Thanks for the replies. The prednisone causing the hunger makes more sense for sure.

I like all the Vega products. They have different ones based on your needs and it is completely plant based protein. I currently use the Protein and Greens and the Vega One which is more a nutritional shake with a lot of added good stuff with the protein (pricey but not as pricey as some of the other brands) Edited to add:…

I just got a vivoactive HR this week, I will add you.

We posted the same thing at the same time! I but the big variety pack on Amazon to get all the flavors. FYI, if you drink adult beverages, these make great low cal mixers as well.

True Lemon Lemonade, plus the other flavors. It is like Crystal Light but made with real fruits and no artificial sweetener.

Part of this does include the scale but we have biometric screenings done at work every summer as part of the company's wellness program. Last summer I was overweight, highish blood pressure, low blood sugar, and high cholesterol. This week I had my yearly screening done, no longer overweight, normal blood pressure and…

I currently have one. She looks at my food log and tells me where to tweak it, she works me hard but is very nice and friendly about it. I honestly was only going to hire her for a month but now that month is over I am going to retain her for at least a couple more months. She said I could lose 10 lbs a month but I have…

I currently have this going in my crock-pot: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/73634/colleens-slow-cooker-jambalaya/ I also second the salsa verde chicken. I also have a great copycat Chipotle barbacoa recipe that I will post the link for once I hunt it down. Edit: Here's the beef recipe:…
