  • Old thread but the A300 now has an update that includes smart notifications! Mine is updating now, I was starting to think it wasn't going to happen for the A300.
  • Hi, I just joined the group. I have Hashimoto's. I definitely feel better when I am gluten free, I just need to stick to it. My trainer basically has me on a low glycemic diet eating high protein 5 times a day, I am finding this difficult without a real "plan". I have the AIP book and I am thinking about starting this.
  • I have had trouble with mine the past couple times, I couldn't get it connect at all to my A300 or to the Polar Beat app. Very frustrating! I gave it a good scrubbin last night, as I normally just rinse it, eww I know, so hopefully it will work today. OP, other than that, I have loved it. I don't like that if I connect it…
  • At the park I walk at I don't see anything too strange per se. I do see a few deer each time. The thing that baffles me is every day, no matter time of day there are these older women out in the woods/meadows crouched down picking something, I see them with tote bags of plants walking around too. And if they see something…
  • Exactly, for me if I see a gain, I know it isn't a fat gain and I like to see the trend, the app I use on my phone has a weigh-in reminder every morning when I wake up. Plus, my trainer prefers daily weigh-ins.
  • How does walking not fall under steady state cardio and lumped with weight lifting, etc?
  • Which makes me ANGRY! I wish they would add Android already. It almost makes me want to switch to a Fitbit product or Garmin product but I really love Polar despite their Apple loving developers.
  • hCG diet, it has hit my facebook friends hard. And it is hard for me to keep my mouth shut.
  • Geez, I didn't even know there was a cutesy name for it. I have just always worked out on an empty stomach in the morning because that is my personal preference and don't want to run the risk of a belly ache with food in there. As for the question, does it work? What is supposed to be working? Is there supposed to be some…
  • I am glad I am not the only one that has that conversation with myself as I fall asleep, and I usually finish it as soon as I wake up and before I get out of bed. It is rare that I am standing in the closet staring at my clothes, I usually have it all worked out before I get there. As for my schedule, it varies. Alarm goes…
  • If I am craving chips, my go-to is air popped popcorn with either a little olive oil and garlic salt, or regular salt and good quality regular butter. If I am craving sweets, I will either eat a handful of grapes or berries.
  • I used to make a breakfast sandwich a lot at work. It can be a bit time consuming at work though. I would scramble an egg or two and add some cheddar at the end (all in the microwave), then I would microwave a meat, either the pre-cooked sausage or bacon you get at the grocery, and put on either toast or an english muffin.…
  • The OP has said that she has a big back yard where the dogs go a lot each day and play and do their business. We personally do not take our two doggies on ANY walks. They are much more content to run free and play in the fenced back yard. Plus they are nervous nellies on walks and won't do their business anyway.
  • So, another update. My endo changed my dose to 100 mcg of Tirosint and I has still just not feeling well taking it, and felt better if I didn't take it for a week (was trying anything to feel better). I went and had my labs done after taking it again for a few weeks and my TSH is 12.14 (range 0.45-4.5), my T4 is 1.06…
  • I am not sure about the failing to connect thing, you might need to call Polar about that, I have heard their customer service is good, thankfully I haven't had to call them yet. The calories that are going to show on the watch and on the app once you get connected is going to be your total calorie burn for the day, just…
  • If I remember correctly the PIN shows on the screen of the watch when you are trying to pair. Try pairing again. If you have an android phone you will not be able to sync with MFP, the only thing I HATE about polar products! If you have an Iphone, you can do it but I don't know how, probably add it as a device in your MFP…
  • I love Polar products, I have the A300 and it is waterproof plus it holds it's charge for about a month. The only downfall (for me) with Polar is if you have an android phone/tablet then you can't sync with MFP, I keep waiting *patiently* for an update so that I can sync because I will always be an android user. I am…
  • Not sure where you live for restaurant suggestions. But here is what I usually have. If I am bringing from home I will bring a salad with some chicken, lunch meat and cheese roll-up with some fruit or popcorn, a corn tortilla taco with chicken, cheese and beans (not all of those suggestions at once). If I am going out I…
  • I tend to lose a couple pounds. This could be because I get terrible stomach cramps and belly issues during.
  • I am 5'6.5", currently 155 and wear a 12 comfortably. I can wear a 10 in some brands but still maybe a little tight. Earlier this year I was around 175 and wearing 14 with maybe even a couple of 16's in there for comfort and fit. I have broad hips and a smaller waist so I think stuff that sits higher up I can get away with…
  • Thank you! I am from Atlanta and it irritates me when people poke fun of our inability to drive in winter weather. I drive a Subaru and even I am not going to drive when we have black ice all over the roads (our main winter weather problem). You are so right, we do not have all the equipment etc that people up north have…
  • I like to combine the two so that I can eat a bit more, also I think that some form of resistance training is good, not necessarily for losing the pounds but to retain lean muscle and look better once the flab is gone! I am preaching to my own choir right now, I have been more focused on the diet aspect (even then not as…
  • I don't log my coffee creamer. I did a couple times but just don't anymore. Probably should. Edit: I just logged it for today, only 35 cals but still....
  • I feel sad too, and they are my "real life" friends, I try to get them to come back :'( One such friend also complains all the time about never being able to shed even a single pound, that she eats right and kills herself in the gym. She is saying this after eating at Zaxby's and while eating a pizza (all within ~ 3…
  • sweet kale salad with grilled chicken, eating chobani key lime yogurt now.
  • I'm still loving my A300, my only complaint, and this isn't with the watch itself, is I still can not sync to MFP using Android. Maybe someday in the future this will happen. Also, I read on the Polar updates site that they plan on pushing the smart watch type features to A300's and Android users in the next few months.…
  • I was always a cheese on my burger kinda gal but I have started to put guacamole instead and sometimes a dab of chipotle mayo, and I find I like it better! I air pop my popcorn and use a misto for a little olive oil on it instead of pouring the oil or using butter. Actually, I use the Misto a lot where normally I would…
  • strawberries with whipped cream, skinny cow ice cream sandwich, peaches and cream, normally sweet snacks over salty it seems.
  • These have been where my levels have been since I was diagnosed in 2011. High TSH, normal T4 and high T3, each and every time I have my panels done. My doc is the one that told me to not take it when I am hyper, (constantly sweating when everyone around me is cold, crying and anxious for no reason, racing heart at all…
  • I wear Birks almost daily to work, Orthoheel are also good (I think they are either the same as vionics or owned by same?), I wear Brooks with Superfeet insert for exercise. If wearing Birks make sure it is the original footbed and not the squishy one, at least that is what I go for.
