  • You're human, If you want it- I say go for it. Just add it into your calories. If I reeeeeeally want something, like a Whopper from BK (my weakness) I eat it earlier on in the day (670 calories), then I know I'll have a few calories left over for dinner. This way I'm full before I go to bed and I made myself happy AND…
  • I am not in the 200s now but was exactly a year ago. I was 252. Motivation? Life was passing me by. I'm young (I think) and am not having the same social life those my age were. I REFUSED to be the weight I weighed in at ever again. I could have pretended that I would be successful and happy at my weight, but yes... I was…
  • For me it's been a life long struggle. Mom never emphasized good eating habits and didn't do that much to stop me from ballooning. Got into teenage/adulthood with those habits and it was a wrap. It's hindered me so much, but that's DONE with now. Never. Ever. Again. ETA: Initially, I didn't read your whole post, but just…
  • I'm not going to tell you the amount of calories you should or shouldn't be eating, in the end you have to do what's best for you. I will say personally, I was on a 1200 calorie diet and it didn't work. Upped to 1500 and now I'm steady at at least 1-2 lbs a week, as long as I follow through with my goals.... but I want to…
  • "It's not worth it to me and what my goals are right now, but thank you, I'm sure it's delicious." This usually puts them in check. They know EXACTLY what it is... They want to try and throw you off. They minute you take that cake, their inner self smiles and says "Ha! I got this chick off her plan." I am the queen of…
  • *Smile* Oh really? I'm going for health more so than size... * You never hear this type of comment from smaller people, at least I don't. I always here this from bigger folks, who don't want to be left behind. I'll be honest I've been guilty of saying this. But it was jealousy.
  • Oh. Definitely didn't realize that asking a question was considered "freaking out"... Freaking out? Hm.. no, there are definitely more important things to be worried about than 3-4 calories. However, this is a fitness and nutrition site and for me, knowledge is power. Thanks treetop, that's definitely the most helpful…
  • Hey Moe, that's helpful! I can see them being more of sticklers about calorie content. I never truly thought that I was sticking to a 1500 calorie count, what with two of my measuring cups having different amounts for what's one cup... and I never really did trust the calories on the labels. In the end though I can't argue…
  • Let's all not pretend that this doesn't go on. I mean, are people really shocked by this??? Weight discrimination is so easy to do and happens all the time.
  • 13 lbs? You got this! Calorie reduction, it's as simple as that!
  • Body Pump, Body Combat and a HIIT workout at the gym, 5x a week 1 H for each class!
  • Spaghetti squash with turkey meatballs, marinara sauce topped with parmesian cheese. Can't wait!
  • It goes both ways.. (just playing devil's advocate, [obviously I'm a fan of EM2WL])
  • Yep, I know EXACTLY how you feel. I was there a few weeks ago. I put the scale away for a month and told myself, either you're getting better or you're getting worse. I knew that I was doing everything right: working out, eating right.... the only change I made during that month was upping my fiber and water, and upping my…
  • I do it weekly, so it's just a matter of following it. I make them usually on Fridays or Saturdays for the entire next week.

  • I would be thrilled to have 15 pounds left to lose! You can do it! Just use this site! I did Jenny Craig and paid at least 3 thousand dollars over the few months I was on it. It worked, but the principle behind it was calorie reduction. I was on a 1500 calorie plan and was dropping weight like crazy. Some weeks I'd gain,…
  • You could probably shave those 5 cents off the healthy meal by stealing salt and pepper packets from work.... just sayin
  • I notice that I'm so irritated when I'm on my period that I hardly drink water. (I also think [sorry for TMI] that I don't drink water b/c I don't want to use the bathroom cause I *HATE* seeing umm, stuff...) so that causes me to be bloated. Hmm.. Mine is coming up so I'm going to experiment and drink TONS of water!
  • It's called cholinergic urticaria. I have it too. I've tried benadryl topical and oral, doesn't work for me! So, the only thing that helps is not working out outside! I could literally itch myself to the point of bleeding! :(
  • GOALS:drinker: To lose 8.4 lbs this month Checking weight weekly Drinking at least 128 ounces of water daily Working out (realistically 4-5 x a week) Sticking to my 1500 calories a day
  • It can be dangerous. Listen to your body. I work out in a gym, so I have it pretty good. When it gets too warm in the class, we have the front desk turn up the air. If you feel lightheaded or dizzy (or that feeling where you can't hear for like 10 seconds?) stop! Go at a good pace, but don't hurt yourself. Good luck!
  • You will hear it passionately both ways, "Eat your exercise calories back.", "Don't eat your exercise calories back." In the end, do what works for you.
  • I was hoping exercise would help with my cramping, but it doesn't. I've been working out consistently for the past several months, close to a year and no change. I've upped my water and everything... so or some women, like myself, exercise doesn't help. When I have my period, I may not go to the gym as regularly as I like…
  • To answer your question, I take a break. I go to the gym M-Th then once again on Sat.., But I try to get some activity I consider exercise in everyday, whether it be taking stairs, parking further from the store in the parking lot so I can walk, walking my dogs, etc.
  • Increase calories? (more fats?) Eat more frequently? Maybe don't have "off-limit" foods? One thing that's helped me with binges is to just let myself have what I want, just try to incorporate it into my daily limit. So today, if I want a Whopper, I'll go ahead and have that Whopper and SAVOR it... better than eating a few…
  • I don't. I am an evening worker-outer. It just works for me! I work out at night and then eat dinner. It's a nice routine. Do what works for you, not just what everyone tells you the right thing to do is.
  • Hey I know this is an old post but it rings true with me. I can't even do weekly anymore b/c if one week I'm up, I get so discouraged and that whole next week is DONE SON! So I've given myself a personal challenge. For one month: 5/20 to 6/17, DO NOT, step on the scale. Just continue to do what I'm doing, remember my…
  • I know it's fake, but Nicki Minaj's! LOL She actually has a nice figure booty aside and she definitely inspires me towards achieving a goal.
  • I have a goal outfit... it's in my ticker, at least part of it is!
  • I was doing it weekly, but now I'm on a self challenge to do it monthly.
