These forums are interesting. In one post, folks will blame the poor for being poor and fat. Then in an entirely different post get mad at someone who is saying "hey this can be done on a budget and here is how I am doing it, please offer additional tips and suggestions." This forum world cracks me up. Anyway, my two cents…

hmmmm ... I may need to go the gym then as motivation. I am not motivated when doing strength training at home. The few times I have done free weights (I don't really care for some of the machines), I have had this feeling of "bad-assness" mixed in with some sexy. Thanks for sharing.

I can't decide if this is the one of the rudest post I have seen on the message boards or one of the most helpful!

I'd be mad ... because he didn't take me with!!! Stripping is an art form and I could watch all day. Strip Clubs don't bother me because it's all about fantasy. I'd be more concerned if he was lying about it/trying to hide it.

I'm just lazy like that

You have to address why you are feeling discouraged or these motivators will not work for you!!! What is going on for you right now is the bigger question you need to ask yourself? My biggest struggle on my journey has been feeling overwhelmed by the (mis)-information out there. Someone dude says don't eat carbs, some…

Nice!!! Looking good. Might have to try this sometime.

I am a certified instructor and agree with everything posted here. Zumba is an effective form of cardio. I would definitely take it slow and modify moves if you need to so that you do not injure yourself. You may feel frustrated during your first class because it is a very different experience. But I always tell my newbies…

Great post. I love revelations like these. I think moments like these can be very freeing and sometimes painful as well. It is hard for us to stop and take care of ourselves sometimes so I can relate to that. I think realizing what is going on is the first step in making a change. This is great. Glad to see you making…

I actually look forward to eating the movie popcorn. So often times I will plan for it in my calories. If you are trying to avoid the temptation I would recommend eating a full meal before you go to the movies. For me this stops the desire for popcorn/candy etc. because I am already full. Oh, and the flask is alwways a…

Nice job!!!

Oh I've been down this road before. What has helped me is just simply starting over and starting with something small. I would tell myself that today is a new day to start over. And also pin-pointing why you are overindulging. For me it was often related to a lack of planning, I found that if I did not start my week off…

About half of that is from zumba. The rest is just from running around work all day (fitbit). Today was a very high activity day for sure.

Well Damn!! This is good information (or confirmation of what I already knew). I will definitely have to re-think my heavy cardio days and try to spread more throughout the day so I am not at such a large deficit late at night. And thank you for the quick responses!!!

I think moderation is key. I think a cup of white rice is about 200-230 calories. So keep that in mind. I don't think the calories change much with brown rice either. I enjoy brown rice but definitely prefer white, especially Jasmine. Try cooking the brown rice with chicken stock, or throwing in a cinnamon stick to add…

I have the fitbit one. and it is very easy to hide .... and like someone else mentioned to loose as well. I am on my second fitbit and I feel that is well worth the money. I contemplated getting the flex but I like being able to see my stats on the display and that it sends me little flirty messages. Could not get that…

And you have lost 56lbs? Dude ... eff that phucker.

What a prick!!! I've never had anyone call me out like that but like some of the others on here, I agree that this person must be pretty unhappy with themselves. And I bet they saw you all smiling and ish because you are feeling good about yourself, and they just could not stand to see another person so damn happy! Just…

LOL!! Control yourself woman. Fight that urge to touch. Fight it.

I always get crap from folks about "being white". First, I grew up in a predominantly white city ( I think the population of blacks in the entire state is 50,000) so of course I talk "white" duh. I've always been considered "uppity" and what not. Glad to see that you share in this experience as well.

It was rough being the ONLY at times!!! That entire thread from buzzfed cracked me up. The touching of the hair thing has always been a big issue for me. And the assumptions of growing up in "da hood". And oh god, I came to loathe black history month only because that seemed to be inevitably the same time we would learn…

I guess that is your point and that is fine. I won't engage in a political discussion as that was not the MAIN point of my argument . It was a side note that clearly got your attention, lol. I just think this discussing warrants more in-depth conversation than for people to just stop having babies they can't afford.
-
Maybe my argument is not valid to you and your situation but that does not apply to everyone. I have two kids, both of them are birth control babies (two different forms of BC I might add). I almost had third (also while on birth control) but the damn thing implanted in my Fallopian tube and just about killed me. Finally,…

These issues we are discussing here a very complex, right? There is data that supports that most U.S. Citizens are just one healthcare crisis away from poverty. Meaning that in a two parent household, if one parent was to have a medical crisis and unable to perform work, the household would not be sustained by just one…
-
This is targeted towards single women of course. First, none of those methods are 100% guaranteed to not produce a baby. Let's not even get into the crazy side effects many of these birth control methods have on women. Second, I find it highly unlikely that married folks are going to be using protection (isn't that a…

I agree with you, culture is not limited by income. What I agree with in the post above is that things are set-up in ways that make eating healthy more difficult and eating unhealthy way too easy. Then when we wise up and begin to take stock we have to pay "extra" (ie organic anything is more expensive, most nutrition…
