I personally just think my friend is lazy and doesn't want to do the work it takes to lose the weight in a healthy way. It's sad really that she has been brainwashed by all of that crap.

Anyone?

I eat between 1600-1750/day depending on how much exercise I do that day. I'm turning 41 next month and i'm 5'2.9 SW- 192 CW-141.4 GW- 135 I exercise 3-5 days/week...usually 4-5 for anywhere between 30 - 60 minutes depending on what i'm doing that day. I do SL 5 x5 3 days/week and cardio (intervals on the treadmill) 2…

It's an interesting point of view/opinion and I always like reading opinions. I "think" my HRM is decently accurate. I've never had any crazy readings from it or a calorie burn that I didn't feel was close to accurate. I guess some could be low...like for lifting...but even that I think is not completely out the window. It…

I looked at the flex but it doesn't track stairs.
-
Lol, well that only a little apparent, lol. So do you feel they are off on the low end of calorie burn or high end...the HRM gives you to many calories burned or not enough?
-
Why do you say that?
-
I don't ever really play the " let's try to guesstimate the calories for this exercise" game because I always wear my HRM when I'm doing actual exercise. I'm wanting it more for telling me what I burn through out the day doing my job and living.

Well, I ordered 1. It should be here next week sometime so hopefully I'll be happy with it. I'm really curious what it will put me at for calories burnt though the day as opposed to the online calculators. Did you find it to be lose to the same or a fair difference?

15 minutes north of Calgary here :drinker:

Alright, you've convinced me, lol. I really am curious as to what exactly I burn through the day as apposed to a "guess" on the TDEE calculators. The Fitbit is still an estimate I'm sure but it's got to be a lot closer.
-
So everyone thinks they are worth the $100?

I don't use Bodymedia. I get my numbers from either Scooby or Fat2fitradio and go from there. I adjusted the MFP calories to what I wanted them to be and don't eat back my exercise calories because they are already figured in to the TDEE. I just always make sure I NET my BMR.
-
@ azure - swimming technique and form? lol.

Sorry to intrude on the OP thread but for those of you that use both, do you take the fit bit off while you exercise (basically replacing your HRM with the fitbit)? I have a polar HRM (and love it by he way) but hb also been thinking of getting a fitbit to see/ monitor how many calories I burn in a day aside from exercise.…

I'm just shy of 5'3 and tuning 41 next month and I eat between 1600-1750/day depending on how much exercise I did that day and i never NET below my BMR. My TDEE is roughly 2100 and my BMR is roughly 1469. I'm eating at a -20% and am losing a steady 3.5-4 lbs/month.

Just bumping this for future reference when I need more snack ideas.

I have a ferret, a bearded dragon, and an ornate tree lizard from Arizona that my mother-inlaw accidentally brought back. My daughter found it and asked if she could keep it. Being the animal freak I am, I of course said yes. I also have 6 fire belly toads, 3 chorus frogs and 2 dogs. My cat passed away just before…

Aw, thanks! You make me feel so young :) I'm a few years younger than you Jason.

Holy crap Jason, I never would of guessed 46 (aside from your username). You look WAY younger!

Couple provinces over...AB here! :drinker:

I just added strong lifts into my workout routine this week. I love the thrill of lifting weights! I can't wait to start seeing results from it. I do cardio on my off days.
-
I weigh for a lot of things and eyeball for others. I try to be fairly accurate.

This! Interval training is a great cardio workout for burning fat along with strength turning. You can do HIIT on any machine or any cardio exercise really.
