Bumping this because I can always use ideas  The Nike training app has some really great strength circuits. I use that and JM video. I will be getting into more weights using free weights and some machines we just bought...just have to get it all set up this weekend.

Feel free to add me if you'd like. I decided a few weeks before my 40th birthday that I was going to make my 40's the best years and make it all about me. I wanted to get my health on track and look awesome in my 40's and not look like I settled or gave up on myself.

That is really beautiful!

I'm just getting into the weight lifting but have been doing strength training for awhile. I do JM videos, and Nike training app. We just bought some used free weights and bench and some other equipment as well. We just need to rearrange our basement a bit so we can set it all up.

I use my HRM unless it is something that I can't wear it, like swimming. Then i use MFP but don't trust it.

I didn't even start my wight loss until about 8 months after the before pic was taken. Even thought I hated the way I looked, I didn't do anything about it for another 8 months. It wasn't until a visit home to see my parents that I saw for the first time how close I was to looking like my grossly obese mother and all her…

Um, not sure what tips I can give, I'm still a work in progress, lol. I just eat at a calorie deficit and I exercise 3 -5 days/week doing either strength training circuits or running on my treadmill. I eat healthier foods and make better choices with what I eat and drink lots of water. That's it. I don't starve myself, I…

Thanks! I'm pretty shocked at the difference. It's been 10 months so far to get to the new me and I'm still not use to it, lol.

I set mine for about 1616 but I like to make sure I net my BMR so if I have a good workout day, I generally will consume about 1750ish. On non exercise days I stay around the 1616 mark.

I'm a stay at home mom and run a daycare out of my home. My kids are 7 and 12. I have done this life style change completely on my own...and with the help of this site. It does take a lot of self dedication to do this on your own. It can be an every day stuggle but a stuggle that is worth fighting for!

Yes, the buying the new clothes thing, ugh! I have had to buy a completely new set of clothes twice now AND I have no summer clothes that fit me so I have to buy all new summer clothes too. It gets expensive! I wasn't prepared to go down a whole cup size with the girls either...that was a little depressing  I find the…

I have never stepped foot in a gym. I did buy a treadmill though and some other used exquipment but the majority of my exercise and weight loss comes from my food (portion coltrol) and eating at a deficit, workout videos and my treadmill. But you could walk o run outside instead of buying a treadmill.
-
It will also depend on the speed of your walk. If you're just casually walking you're not going to burn as many calories as you would going at a fast pace. If your heart rate wasn't elevated very much, you're not going to burn as many calories.

Turning 41 in May...I work about 10 hours a day but get a nice long 2 - 3 hour break in the middle which is when I do my workouts. 2 kids...1 that is 7 and the other 12. I have busy days that start at 6 am and don't end until about 9:30-10pm. Feel free to add me if you'd like

Wait...what? If you're eating your TDEE - 20 or 25% I thought you weren't suppose to eat your exercise calories because they are included in your TDEE. Is the scooby calculator different?

I love 40's (turning 41 in May) and have embrased them full swing. They are all about me! I have transformed my life and body into something that makes me happy! My life may be almost half over but I'm living and loving every second of it. Life is to short to give up on it half way through! There is so much more to look…

Hhhmmm, I don't find this that hard at all. I eat, I enjoy my food that I've worked hard for and I eat it in the proper proportions, I love how I feel when I exercise and more importantly I love how I am looking! It's only as hard as you make it. I also think if it's something you really really want, it makes it easier to…

Here are my side by sides...I lost a few more lbs since this was taken.

I'm 5' 2.9" and my goal is 135. I'll reassess once I reach it to decide if I want to loose more or not.

I am by no means a "runner" and would never classify myself as 1. I do enjoy running...doing a "version" of interval training that has my heart rate way up but i also do oher strength training/circuit training too...unless doing videos like nike trainer or JM aren't considered strength training because i'm not in a gym…
-
That's what I'm doing...isn't it? From what i was told and have read, it is interval training. My heart rate gets way up there during my running intervals. Is the uncomfortable part what makes it hard? I just don't get what is hard about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm exhausted and sweating like a pig when I'm done so it is a…
