I eat about 1000 calories on protein-only days and about 1500 calories on complex carb and protein days. The program is made of shakes, protein snacks, energy drinks, and complex carb meals.

I actually learned this while studying at the Culinary Institute of America, as my focus was on Nutrition. We all experimented with pre and post-workout meals for one month and we found that eating after a (strength and cardio) workout gave us up to a 1lb. higher deficit than eating a big meal before. Also, you can check…

I hear you, sister! I actually lived in a suite of 4 girls (myself included) who ate awfully! I luckily got to move into a townhouse with 7 of my good friends who for the most part shared the same healthy habits as myself. We had a juicer, a cabinet full of vitamins and supplements, another with complex carbs, and of…

I agree with the comment before me. Make sure your transition is gradual, so try eating what you've been eating but with the addition of say, a clementine or mango with the fruits you're already having. Or mix both lean and some fattier proteins for a meal. It's kind of how you'd ease a baby into eating different food:…

I am doing this thing called yoli better body system, essentially a low carb high protein diet. however, there are days during the week that I have to introduce complex carbs back in my diet so that my body doesn't go into starvation mode and start burning my muscle as energy vs burning fat. when you deplete yourself of…

it's not just you! I had the same mentality when I first started MFP and still lost weight. 40 pounds under 4 months to be exact! it is proven that if you eat right after your workout, your body will burn the calories at a much faster rate than any other time you eat. so whether you eat 1/2 of those calories back, all of…

I hope you've gotten passed your plateau. To all those users saying "don't follow this" or that my first responses was "to extreme"... that diet made me lose 40 pounds in 4 months, losing 7 pounds the first week of each month. I went from size 12/14 to a now 4/6 and love it. So to all of you skeptics... HA.

Congratulations! We are almost identical. When I started my weight loss, I was about 186. and I stand at 5'3". I lost the first 7 pounds doing a strict diet and finally got back down to the 70's range. I tried everything - diet and exercise combo, no carbs, protein drinks, you name it. Then I was introduced to a system…

You've hit a plateau, which happens to the best of us. Eat protein-only, low carb food for two days; 5-6 small meals or snacks every two hours to keep you full and your body functioning. This will force your body to burn your fat as fuel since there are no carbs to use. Then on the third day, introduce ONLY complex carbs…
