To hit the magic 1,000 mile mark in a year it averages out around 85 miles a month... but it's your challenge to do however suits you best :)

It's your goal & what works for you, so go ahead :)
-
Well done on completing the challenge, aww I'd love some snow, send it my way ;)

To help me remember my walks I've started to blog them - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/HatherM I'm only going to be blogging weekly about purposeful (usually circular) walks I do with my OH, typically on a Saturday, rather than a daily blog. In them I do link to the walk info for others use, should they wish to explore…

I'm doing Pen Y Fan in a couple of weeks, when we come down to South Wales for my OH's birthday... Meeting up with a school friend too & of course paying a visit to Penderyn, to sample some of Wales' finest whisky/vodka & gin :)

I've added 2 lines to the spreadsheet - I want to do the 1,000 miles intentional exercise miles but Runkeeper doesn't always track for me, so I'm going to log my Fitbit miles too

I know, I know I've been MIA off this group for quite some time... Going to try to be more active on here. OK so I signed up to a 1000 mile walking challenge in 2016 - so my January miles I'm aiming for are 83miles (which with 2 rest days a week works out at around 4 miles a day - 5 days a week) :)

So far my month is up and down and it's only day 7!!! Been suffering with a sore throat and lack of energy, so I've been and got some echinacea to dose myself up, hopefully this will help

There's some great goals there. I'm going for 140 miles walked in September, Walks: Loggerheads to Moel Famau, Snowdon, Devil's Kitchen, Walk 10k steps a day, Drinking 4 litres of water a day,
-
Wow that's plenty of walking. While I was there I just wanted to walk up ever hill/mountain/etc. I saw
-
Right I'm back again, it kept me focussed and motivated in August so I'm hoping it does the same in September - Set my goal at 140. I should hit this!
-
I am basing my goal on something I feel is realistic to achieve and maintain and rather than be focused on a weight goal I have a dress/clothes size goal ultimately which is a UK 10/12. I chose this goal because that is when I felt the most comfortable and I think it suits my height & shape (5'3" - Pear shape). I have a…

I visited the highlands this year & fell in love with Scotland. We plan on going back next year & doing lots of hiking too.
-
I've updated my miles goal from 140 -170 miles as I believe that will keep me more motivated to move everyday

Hi I'm Heather. I live in North Wales, UK. After my nephew having an accident which left him paralyzed from the waist down & us travelling 5 hour round trips to visit him every weekend I piled on the pounds... A combination of stress & bad eating from all the travelling didn't help. I then joined MFP & lost about a stone…
