Hello, @KrazedBemused and welcome! I recently joined myself. My name is Danielle, am 47, retired, and living in Seattle, WA. I have never been to Australia. I enjoy traveling and should really check it out sometime. Have you ever been to the US? @CaptainBoing -- I hear you! I didn't really get active until I was in my 30s…

@2020pinktogo -- Wow! With all those chores, you're sure to stay out of trouble!! XD You will feel ssssoooo good once everything is done and your garage is organized.

Hello! Didn't do much exercise today, although my app said I did 60 min of activity today, so I must have done something today. XD Went out to dinner with our out of town guests and I ordered the cioppino ( seafood stew), no bread. It was good, not great. After dinner I was so gassy. :-( Probably cooked it with butter. I…

@1skholloway -- That's a great thought. I should keep that in mind. Since it's TOM right now, I definitely feel that my tummy is in control. :-( @blitzbis -- Life isn't fair sometimes. At least you recognize the importance of supporting your hubby, even when it's frustrating for you. At least you keep at it! Never give up,…

OMG- you all have to make this! It is called Zucchini Pasta With Avocado Cream Sauce and is so good! This is my first time growing zucchini, so I was looking for a recipe for a side dish (I don't want to make zucchini bread or fried zucchini). This was so good! My husband really liked it, and I love that it is no cook!…

Wolverine is a comic book character. He's always been a bit rebellious and a loner, although he has been part of a group of mutant heroes known as The X-Men. Then, a movie came out and the actor who played Wolverine is pretty good-looking. https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/G/02/uk-dvd/fox/Wolverine4.jpg HTH

Glad you made it home safely. Way to go getting a jump start!

Howdy gang! Even though I'm retired, I am still so busy! What with housekeeping, cooking, exercising, socialising, etc. the days just fly by! Went to our local Stitch and Pitch event at Safeco field. Basically, there's a section of cheap seats where all us knitters, crocheters, tatters, etc can sit, knit (or whatever) and…

Good morning, all! It's cloudy here in the PNW. It even drizzled a little. I am still going on a walk today. I will aim for 4 mi and walk along the beachfront. I prefer to walk there when it's gray because I love being near the water, even on cloudy days. Otherwise, I'd talk myself out of exercise! My squashes seem to have…

Well, it's going to be a beautiful day today. I think I'll spend a couple of hours in the garden today for my exercise. Since I haven't been able to work on it for a couple of weeks, it really needs the TLC. Yesterday, I spent an hour in the veggie patch alone! I have a lot of other chores to get done today. I feel like I…

ahhhhh.... so good to be home. Still a bit tired, but I'll recover in a few days. Went on a good, long walk this morning. Did about 5+ miles! I know I'll feel sore tomorrow, but I really needed it. Going to have dinner with a friend and watch the Metropolitan Opera's La Boeheme at the movie theater. I already looked at the…

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! A bit more about me: 6 years ago I discovered that I had food sensitivities, so I avoid gluten, dairy, and sugar. Gluten makes me feel the worst, so it's the one I am the most vigilant avoiding. But, after a terrible GI incident in May, I decided it was time to get serious and kick…

Hello! I am another newbie drafted by @2020pinktogo . :-) Thanks for the invite! Looking forward to getting to know all of you, some of you a bit better (ie: @blitzbis ). My name is Danielle. I've always liked it, and never thought it was difficult until I was grown up and encountered many people who would call me Donelle,…

Hello, @kcthatsme ! I'd love to join this challenge! Please invite me. :-)

I'm 46 and am working on losing 24lbs. 10 lbs down, but it was a long, hard road.

If I want a sandwich, I use romaine lettuce leaves instead of bread. Saves a lot of calories! I make several mini-sandwiches with them, so for ham sandwiches, I'd use the same amount but slice it up to make 3 or more lettuce wraps. Especially great with tuna salad. I also use lettuce leaves for hot dogs and hamburgers. It…

Yes! I would love to join you! Will send you a friend request. My name is Danielle. I am 46 yrs old, 5'4". Like a lot of folks, I have been battling my weight forever! I was at 145-150lbs and a size 8-10 for about 4 years, but then I slowly crept up to 184 lbs! I weigh 179.8 lbs as of this morning, and if I could lose 20…

These look like good guidelines. Good luck this month! I hope you are successful! I like that you broke down your weightloss into ounces a day. That makes it so much more reasonable. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

This thread is great! For me, it's that grocery shopping takes so long, because I'm reading every ingredient list. Also, there are some things in the store I just don't know where they are, because I mainly shop the perimeter. Someone asked me if I knew where X was, and I had no idea. They thought I was weird!

While I have been really good logging everything, it's been a challenge sometimes to stay within my calorie goals. Now that I am experiencing major hormonal changes (due to The Change), I've had days where I just want to eat everything, do nothing, and feel depressed. All I can do is get back on track right away and keep…

LOL- thanks for the positive energy!

@Nikion901 : I am a middle-aged, pre-menopausal, retired woman who has been chubby all her life (except during my 30s when I lost 65 lbs thanks to Weight Watchers). Diabetes runs in my family, and has been a big specter in my life; a lot of my choices were made so that I can avoid the "family curse". On top of that, mental…

F@#k is right. Oh, man, I am also sorry to hear that.

I agree with @amlc1230 -- you should do some activity to help alleviate your depression. Also, make sure you are eating healthy, low processed foods and watch your sugar intake. Recent studies show that sugar can increase feelings of depression and anxiety. I know, because I suffer from sugar-induced depression. Too much…

I try to do something every day (as recommended by my dr.) By something, I mean walk, swim, or bike. I also try to strength train 2-3 times a week and practice yoga 2-4 times a week. My strength training routine focuses on my hamstrings and glutes without doing lunges or squats. I have a knee injury and the physical…

A loss is a loss, so congratulations!!

ooOOoo... I'm in! If I lose 10%, that'll be 17 lbs. Not sure if I can do that, but it is worth trying! At least I'll weigh less than I do now, and that's what's important. 12 weeks from now is Dec 6. My current weight is 175.8 lbs. I will try to check in with you all regularly. @LinziT123 : Congratulations! If you don't…

Glad you found a way to incorporate more exercise into your very busy schedule! I wanted to add my two cents. XD First of all, even 15 or 20 min of exercise is good. A lot of us (me, included) think that if we don't have an hour to workout, then why do it? It's something we (I) need to contend with. Also, the exercise we…

That was funny. I'll have to pin it! XD

I have one, and I wish I had two! I got mine at a Goodwill, but they aren't that expensive to begin with. I use them to help me get into the lunges, and to support my bad knee in cobbler's pose and hold it between my legs for bridge pose. I also used it to help me get into tree pose before I was able to balance for a long…
