  • I'm 49. When I was 30, I lost 60 lbs! 40 lbs have crept back on over the last 9 years, and no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to lose any weight, or I only lose 5lbs, then they rush right back on. This last year, I have been diagnosed with several food allergies: cow's milk/dairy, chicken eggs, cane sugar, yeast. (Have…
  • This sounds like fun! I've been dealing with what feels like a lot of health issues, and my activity levels have been all over the place. Hopefully, this will keep me active for at least the 8 weeks.
  • Well, back from Yellowstone. We weren't as active as I would have liked, since we had young nieces and nephews with us, but we managed to do some walks most days. I didn't gain, so that's a win! Leaving this Friday for Southern California. Spending Sat-Mon on Catalina Island for a reunion of mine. I definitely hope to do a…
  • @2020pinktogo -- Enjoy your life in the real world, and your journey to find your joy. Have you read the book Simple Abundance? I'm reading it now (one of those books where you read one page a day) and she has a lot of good tips on finding your Authentic Self, which is what I am searching for. @1skholloway -- I remember…
  • Man, just about melted last week! My nephew left on Sunday, so now I can return to my normal routine. Went swimming yesterday for the first time this Summer (why did I wait so long??). Today, my shoulders and hamstrings are a bit sore but I still went on a good walk. :-) Just finished deep cleaning the rat cage. I'm…
  • Start: 183.2 Week 1: 182.8 Week 2: 180.6 Week 3: 181.6 A little bit up, but I'll take it! Considering we ate out every day, I expected a gain. Now that our visitor is gone, I can go back to my routine. Yesterday I did some strength training and went swimming. Today I went on a good walk. :-)
  • Ugh! How can I have felt so great on Monday, but feel bad on Sunday? I am not looking forward to stepping on the scale tomorrow. We had a nephew stay with us this week, which threw off my exercise routine. All I can say is that I did my best this week with food and exercise.
  • Hang in there! I know that our bodies can be frustrating, but if you are doing everything right, you will see results. Unfortunately, the journey to better health isn't a straight line.
  • My 12yo nephew arrived today. Looking forward to his visit. While I may not be able to do my normal exercise, I know we'll be walking and doing some fun things, like stand up paddle boarding tomorrow. XD
  • Welcome back, @NewOR2015 ! Glad you enjoyed your time off.
  • This morning I walked about 3 mi. Then, after lunch, went for a mile walk with my husband. We try to go on a mile walk every day. I also did NOT clean my plate at dinner today, because I was too full! So proud of myself for listening to my body. Usually, I always eat everything on my plate.
  • I'm with ya'! This week, I've "moved my body" for about 100 min each day,Mon-Wed. I feel good about that. Usually, I do a little strength training, a nice walk, and 20-40 min of yoga. Thurs I volunteer at a local aquarium, so I treat it as a rest day. I feel really good about my food choices, too.
  • @2020pinktogo -- Sheesh! Is it every Friday? If so, at least you know ahead and can plan instead of it just happening. I think that would be worse? I know that I am lucky to have such a flexible schedule. Have you found a good pair of shoes yet? @1skholloway -- On Sat, my dh and I had a chance to try out an aerials silks…
  • Howdy! I did a little (15 min) of strength-training this morning, then out for a 3 mi powerwalk. Feeling really good right now! I live in Seattle and today is a beautiful summer's day. Last week: 183.2 This week: 182.8 Happy with my small loss!
  • @1skholloway -- Congratulations on the maintenance victory! Our bodies are very complex, and part of our journey is to understand our own special bodies. What works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another. Also, what used to work may not work anymore. That's why I'm trying the time-restricted eating. I eat…
  • @1skholloway -- Gee, I hope your better today and still get out of going somewhere! Well, yesterday I had a pretty good day, tracked almost all of my food (like 90%) and drank all my water. Today is a friend's birthday party, which lasts all day and includes a catered yacht cruise on the water. o_O So, I know I have to…
  • Hello, my name is Danielle and I'm 48 years young (!). I got back from a 3-month long vacation to South America and am having difficulty getting back on track. Today my weight is 183.2lbs. Some goals: I want to exercise 5-7 days a week, 30-60+ min a day. I want to track what I eat. I want to lose 10 lbs! I hope being part…
  • I'm joining! Just so difficult getting back into the swing of things. My goal is to lose 10lbs in 6 weeks! (I have a family function in 4 weeks, so hoping this group can help me stay motivated during that time.)
  • @1skholloway -- I hope you are a bit less stressed right now! With my niece here, I totally understand why some folks eat at night. It is so relaxing and comforting to eat once she's down (and DH is also in bed); it's how I want to spend quality time with myself! I tried to set limits, but I know I've gained this week. She…
  • My 8yr-old niece arrived today. She's very sweet and good-natured. She's staying for a week and my husband and I are both glad to have time with her. But, I know it's going to throw a wrench in my exercise schedule, to say the least. Now I get to deal with the challenges that full-time parents face all the time! XD…
  • Well, so far this week I am very proud of myself. Haven't watched TV and I've logged everything I've eaten. It's amazing how much cheese and chocolate I HAVE NOT eaten because I'm tracking! XD How has your week been?
  • Just wanted to congratulate you on hitting the gym again! Definitely take it easy on your knee. Don't do anything that hurts. I have a bad left knee (minor arthritis, torn meniscus, quads pull patella out of place) and find that I have to kinda hold back on some things, like walking and squats. Just can't do hills like I…
  • @2020pinktogo -- I hope everything works out for you. I'm glad you set your boundaries and then live by them. Great job! @1skholloway -- Thanks for the encouragement. I'm the same; I do eat right but I also eat too much. This week, I am giving up TV. I have NEVER given up watching TV my entire life!! Have I been without…
  • Hello, 2020pinktogo and 1skholloway! Sorry for being absent, but I wasn't "ready" to get back on the wagon. After the scale showed me that I've regained 5lbs since returning home, I'm ready now!! XD Exercise is not a problem for me. What I'm going to focus on is making good food choices and tracking my food. If I don't…
  • @2020pinktogo -- I've been playing catch up with my garden, too. I hear ya' about the sore rear. My hamstrings are also sore. But, that means they're getting used, right? @1skholloway -- I have Amazon Prime Video. Maybe I should check out some of their exercise videos?
  • Hello, Ladies! I was in South America for 3 months, so I didn't do any logging or checking in with you folks. Then, I was home for about a week before I caught a cold. :-( Feeling better now and have started to log my exercise. I don't want to log my food yet, and I don't know why not. Anyway, progress is progress. I did…
  • Hello, everyone! Yeah, we've been quiet but I've still been plugging away. I weighed myself the morning after we got back from Phoenix and I was up 1.4lbs. I wasn't angry or depressed; I had made the best choices I could and was determined to get back on plan. Since then (5 days) I've LOST 3.4 lbs!!! Yay, me! You don't…
  • Hello, Ladies! Checking in with you all today. How is it going? How are you doing? Any new foods or recipes? Any NSVs? We're getting ready to go home. Home! It'll be nice to get back to my routine. Overall, I think I made decent choices. I'm very proud of myself for having done yoga every day. I drank a bit more wine than…
  • @1skholloway -- Thanks! I'm still at my in-laws. I've been making pretty good food choices, considering. I've managed to walk every day and do yoga every day. As much as I enjoy my husband's family, it'll be nice to go home and try to have a normal routine! @NewOR2015 == Yup! Back to routine! I can't wait to finally have…
  • Happy New Year, Everyone! You all seem to be on the right track! I did join WeightWatchers last week. Tomorrow is my first weigh-in. I'll be happy if I didn't gain. I did really well on their new points system, and I did exercise more. That's what I love about the New Year- brand-new start and so motivated to eat well and…
