Hello! Congratulations on starting your health journey! Have you seen a dr about shrinking? Sounds like a big deal.

I found this to be good. It's a 30 day plank challenge, and I definitely saw a lot of improvement as I did it.…

Hello!! Congratulations on making a very tough decision: to improve your health. I'll tell you, it's not easy. It's a rollercoaster ride, full of thrills, chills, and spills. However, the results are worth it. I don't know about you, but I have a Pinterest board dedicated to motivational quotes. They help me firm up my…

My hubby is trim and can eat anything and not gain weight. However, I'm lucky in that he supports me and my nutrition goals. :) What I do is make us the same dinner, but then... 1) Serve myself a smaller portion, which I log. 2) I steam myself extra veggies so that I can feel like I'm eating. And, I'm not just sitting…

I agree. While I try to limit my sweets, either real sugar or artificial, I find that a diet soda is very satisfying and will keep me from making food choices I'll regret later, especially at a social event.

I was losing a lot of hair, but after I stopped eating gluten, slowly (6 mos), my hair loss has stopped and is now more normal. Yes, let us know how you are doing. What did the dr say?

I usually order an americano with room and add 2-3 tbsp of half and half and maybe a sugar packet. A grande americano has only 15 calories, and a tablespoon of half and half has 20 cal and a teaspoon of sugar has about 16 cal. So, my drink has a total of 75-95 cal! :) You can add a pump of their sugar-free syrup, which has…

"If you skip a workout, you skip an opportunity to improve yourself." I love this phrase! It really gets me to my workout sometimes. I like how it makes me see exercise, not as something I have to do, but as something that is going to help me become a better, stronger, healthier me.

Add me, too, please! I recommitted about 2 weeks ago and could use as much motivation and support as I can get. :) I know we can do this!!

That was my recent motivation for getting back on track! 16 yrs ago I lost 60# and kept them off for 10 yrs. About 30 lbs have crept back over the past 6 years, and that picture just motivated me to wake up, accept this weight gain, and start taking care of myself again!!!!

Have you tried eating healthy fats, like avocado or coconut butter? That's one way to up your calorie intake with a small amount of food.

Hi! Just wanted to encourage you on this journey. I am 46 yo, 5'4", and I currently weigh 181#. My goal is to get back down to 150#. My calorie goal is 1600 Cal and I burn 300-500 Cal 5-7 times a week. It helps that I'm retired, so I can afford to spend 1-2 hrs working out throughout the day. (Yes, I eat back some of those…

JFTuesday- 1) Walk 3 mi 2) Stay within calorie goal Same as yesterday, but I did it then, so will do it again today!

I totally can relate. I don't know what your status is, but after 7 months I am finally at a point where I feel I can begin to work my hamstrings and glutes (my quads are too strong and pull my patella out of joint). The hard part is trying not to gain weight, because I cannot do all the activity I usually do! While the…

This looks like a fun and supportive group! I re-committed to my weightloss goals (again!) and today is the third day of that journey. JFT- I will walk 3 mi and stay within my calorie goals.

Wow! I loved reading all your confessions! It does make me feel less of a weirdo when I do the following: 1) I take off 0.2lbs from the scale, because you never know. And, I weigh myself every day and record it every day. 2) When I'm feeling desperate, I will eat celery and salsa and not log it, even if it's a whole jar of…

I could definitely use some support and motivation in 2013. Sign me up!

I just do what my trainer tells me to do. While we use our upper and lower bodies the same day, he will use one more than the other. Like today, we did push-press (upper body/legs), rowing (legs/back), pull ups, and dumb bell cleans (legs).

I used to reach for ice cream, pizza, and beers to help me "get over" stuff. Now I go for sparkling mineral water, fresh fruit, seaweed snacks, a cup of coffee with a dollop of coconut milk (can't do dairy any more) or baked potato chips. I also know that going to the gym will make me feel better about myself and the day.

This was fun!
