Keto can be a great way to keep BG under control, but it's imperative that your meds are adjusted until everything settles into place. Otherwise, you'd quickly end up over-medicated, and hypoglycemic again. If your husband is on keto, you almost certainly don't need how-to's, but medical guidance will be extremely…

My 85 year old grandmother-in-law has lost 35 pounds in approximately the last year. She's unable to exercise with COPD, and needing (and refusing) a hip replacement.

I'm thinking she thought she should cover it in case none of her scorned ex-lovers have found him yet.

Having been hurt is no excuse for hurting people. People hurt people because they are WEAK, and unhappy. People who are strong rise above what has been done to them. You might mean that statement to be helpful, but it will some people angry. As for your second paragraph, it has nothing to do with this thread.

In a case such as this, they would fit all of these parameters: -Haven't done their reading, or listened very well, as that isn't a teaching of the church. http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/cti_documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20070419_un-baptised-infants_en.html -Pay lip service to what they claim to…

Lavender, including topically applied, can mimic estrogen. If hormones are part of your problem, you are slightly supplementing, and potentially partially compensating. https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/lavender-tea-tree-oils-may-cause-breast-growth-boys

Your protein is awfully high for keto. That burn estimate might be a bit high too, unless you're quite heavy, or very active. What tracker do you use? What's your actual activity level? If you're comfortable sharing your stats, that could be helpful. ETA: Those macros actually come out to 2532 calories.

If you can't see anything good about yourself, it goes much deeper than food, and it would help to address that. There are people who punish themselves by keeping themselves overweight (not saying that's you, but it might be something to think about). There are also people who keep themselves overweight to keep other…

When you say denser foods, I assume you mean things that are more filling (greater volume), but low calorie, like maybe lots of vegetables? Yes, eating that low calorie is harmful. I'm not sure what you mean by carb-sensitive (maybe insulin resistant?), but lower carb is fine, as long as your caloric and nutritional needs…

You've misunderstood, and made a faulty assumption. I've said nothing anti-keto, if that's what you're thinking. ETA: http://www.notablebiographies.com/newsmakers2/2004-A-Di/Atkins-Robert-C.html

^^This. Keto is supposed to be higher in fat, with moderate protein. If you want to eat keto, you need to make sure to fuel your body. Keto suppresses appetite, so it can take effort to get your calories in, but adding fat can help. Also, exercise will let you eat a little higher carb, especially shortly before the…

Medical studies of the ketogenic diet treating epilepsy began in the 1920's. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19049574 Dr Atkins himself was *born* in 1930.

If the benefits outweigh the cost, then carry on. Give it time, see if the meds give you the effects you were looking for, and if the gaining levels off. Log your food. Most meds cause weight gain by increasing the appetite. Are you hungrier than normal? Did you start both at the same time? Unless the need is…

To diagnose or rule out Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, you need a TPO and an anti-thyroglobulin antibody test, but no, free t3 and free t4 aren't secondary at all. They are actual thyroid hormones, whereas TSH is produced by the pituitary gland, and actually not that closely related to thyroid levels. My TSH was .1 in my last…

What levels were tested? Did you get free t3 & free t4, or just TSH? What were your results? If the Hashi's and Graves' tests weren't very recent, you should have them again. Are you having the rapid heart rate symptom? And fyi, being cold is a hypo symptom, not hyper.

The constipation by itself isn't necessarily that concerning, but check this page, and watch for these other symptoms: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/intestinal-obstruction/symptoms-causes/syc-20351460 It's not at all uncommon for IBS-C sufferers to go longer than you have, including myself.
