I also clicked on this out of curiosity. LOL! Love it. Can we recommend this site more often?

I'd be happy in an 8, and ecstatic in a 6. I wore 6-8 all through high school and college. At my heaviest, I wore 12s, and now I'm wearing a Junior's 9. (BTW, does juniors 9 compare to a women's 8 or 10, anyone know?) Good luck to all!

my first thought as well :) haha

guilty :) (although, of all the things to be addicted to, MFP isn't bad!)

I'm in -- I've been trying to cut back on fast food and eating out in general, but I feel like this will be a challenge for me. The one thing I am going to keep, however, is Thursday night pizza with my roommate. It's a tradition and part of my self-care at the end of the week, but now we try to order a healthier, smaller…

I agree on the spinach and avocados! I'm also big on fish (nearly any kind), and I LOVE garlic.

I LOVE "eat this not that". Thanks for posting!

You can post all of your foods in your food diary and make your diary public so that anyone can view it. It's easier and more organized than a message board post :)

Wow, Friday is popular! I do Wednesday mornings (mostly so I remember: Wednesday Weigh Day), but also because Thursday night is Pizza & Beer night with my roommates and that's my main "cheat" day, so I want to weigh before that :)

I go to the gym at my university since it's free (I'm a graduate student), and it's always FULL of sorority girls on the cardio machines and fraternity guys lifting weights. They all wear their Greek letters... I've wondered if there's someone who keeps track of which house gets the most workouts in during a week, lol. I…

Who is losing more weight and becoming healthier?

I have mini-goals set up for every 5 pounds that I lose (trying to lose a total of 30 more). I do have mani/pedi as one reward, but others include new running shorts, running shoes, a new pair of jeans (not the whole wardrobe, but a good pair that fits well at that weight), a bathing suit for closer to summer (again, not…

As you said, everyone's different, so here's my two cents: -- I'm in a roughly similar spot (5'7", started at 180, working toward 135). Given that, I started seeing real results within the first two weeks or so. Not anything overly dramatic, but the 1 or 2 pounds I had specified that I would like to lose. -- How much time…

Thanks for posting this! I had a similar day yesterday -- went over on my calories by about 700 and WAY over my sodium and fats. Not only did the scale show a gain this morning, but I *feel* like crap too. Lesson learned, body. In future similar situations, I might indulge in an item or two, but try not to let sabotage the…

I agree -- I've found that some (but definitely not all) of the exercise calories are inflated. I know that for me, personally, in order to burn 100 calories in 10 minutes (and 300 in 30 mins, 600 in an hour, etc.), I need to really be huffing and puffing on a cardio machine or run... so I use that as a rough estimate.

Rather than jeans sizes, I would recommend using your BMI, body fat percentage, and opinions from your physician and/or nutritionist to gauge your progress and ultimate goal weight.
-
While I typically weigh myself every morning (just as a check-in, nothing to obsess over), I "officially" weigh and record once per week. That's just what works for me -- think about what works for you, keeps you honest, but isn't overly compulsive.
-
If it were me, I would get a good cardio workout in before the afternoon; then I don't feel guilty later!

spinach any fish, but especially salmon eggs garlic avocado (not the healthiest, but CAN'T live without!)

Thank you for posting this; I really needed it right now. :-)
