45 and not there yet but I'm now in the 180's for the first time since I was 20. Running 30+ miles per week so I'll at least be a fast Grandfather even if I never make it to "hot."

If you're dealing with shin splints, try shortening your stride a little. When you take really long strides you tend to bring all your weight down on your heel. This sends all of the force straight to your lower legs (shins). By shortening your stride, you will land more to the middle of your foot. This will allow the…

I've never considered myself a Broncos fan, but I'm a big fan of Tim Tebow (gotta love the underdog) and Peyton Manning so I've been cheering for them more than ever before in my life.

Target features Champion's C9 line of athletic clothing. Great prices and all the sizes. I've been buying them for the last 30+ pounds. I figure as long as my size keeps going down, there's no need to get the expensive stuff unless I find great sale prices.

All these poo stories makes glad that the majority of my running is done in a city park. There's a nice 2 mile loop around a little lake and there are four sets of restrooms around the track. I guess my worst case scenario would be having to use the porta-potty version instead of one of the three modern toilets.

One more plug for endomondo: They have an excellent online community including regular challenges of various kinds. There have been times when I've reconsidered taking a day off because I wanted to improve my ranking in a challenge. Anything that provides motivation to exercise more is good in my book.

You've left out my favorite. Endomondo is the one I use every day. I've only had two workouts that seemed to be in error due to GPS signal being lost (I was running just before a thunderstorm cut loose) but I was able to edit those. I have tried mapmyrun and runkeeper but endomondo was the only one I was willing to pay for…

Just keep slowly stretching out your distance. Three months ago I couldn't run a 1/4 mile. Tonight I did four miles nonstop, only quitting because I was out of time. I got here by continually stretching my distance while walking as needed. Your strength and stamina will increase. Losing more weight will certainly help and…

If I'm sick, I still exercise. If I'm injured, I take some time off or change the workout to eliminate unnecessary stress to the hurting muscle or joint.

I was a runner in HS so I knew I had the ability. However, I was able to run until I had lost quite a bit of weight. I just kept trying every five lbs. or so until I could do it without pain issues. Losing weight will take considerable stress off your joints. However, if there is a structural problem you'll certainly want…

Shortening your stride can also help prevent shin splints, achy knees, and sore heels. The idea is to stride so that you land more to the middle of your foot rather than heel first. The mid-foot strike takes a lot of the pressure off of the leg joints and allows your foot to move and flex more naturally. Extra protein…

I think the point here is that if you don't receive the creepy ones, you must be sending them.

One of the downsides of carbonated beverages is the sodium content. An occasional soda isn't going to hurt you, but an excess can certainly derail weight loss due to too much sodium. I actually quit drinking all forms of carbonated beverage this spring, even before I actively tried to lose weight. Today I had a Rockstar…

I think what he meant to say is that all guys like big boobs, medium boobs, small boobs, and even those from the itty bitty tittie committee.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 2 1/2 years ago. I absolutely hated the CPAP and mask thing so I eventually just quit using it. Also, due to our different work and sleep schedules my wife and I weren't in the same bed more than twice per week which helped to sleep better without my snoring. About two months ago she…
