After an entirely too long hiatus, I am back to focusing on my health and fitness which means I am back to running. Gotta say I love the new do-it-yourself spreadsheet. I'm starting small this month and shooting for 50 miles.

Hat with the brim pulled low. I find it takes care of me in the rain. I still have to look through the drops but it is not that big of a problem. I find that misting is actually worse that real rain. The big drops will roll off but the mist just kinda sits there.

It was awesome and painful all at the same time. I didn't hit my goal time but I'm still proud of my results and I'm looking forward to beating my time next year. I ran track and cross country for a couple of years in High School. After a car wreck before my Junior year I didn't run again until last spring at the age of 45. I got serious about running around July and have now completed a 5K and two 5 mile races. My first 20K race is coming up on June 1. Throughout the fall I was…

Run for you, not for anybody else out there who may be watching. I see people running everyday. Some are fast, some are slow. Some have nearly perfect form while others look like they're inventing a new dance. It just doesn't matter! They are all getting the job done. In the end, we don't run for anyone but ourselves. We…

I've been AWOL since the end of February. I suffered a stress fracture on my last run in Feb. and managed only 10 miles in March. I'm back to healthy and totaled 41.5 in April (mostly in the last two weeks). Please put me down for 125 in May. I'll be gearing up my for next race which is a 20K on June 1st.

26:02 is my best training time. I don't yet have an official race PR since the only 5K I've run was a 1/4 mile short. I really want to get it under 25 this spring.

Endomondo can know your weight. It's up to you to plug that in on the settings page. Last summer I compared endomondo's numbers with my HRM and they were reasonably close. I now just go with the endomondo numbers but I have my weight set about 15 lbs. lower than my actual weight. Ultimately calorie burns while running are…

I run a variety of routes which helps change things up. I also have a huge playlist that I play on shuffle. These are helps, but for me the challenge of conquering the next mile, and improving my times and distances keep me pretty focused. I also run with the endomondo smartphone app that gives me frequent updates on my…
