I suggest getting heavier weights. Using weights at that minimal a weight aren't beneficial- let's put it this way, my 3 year old son can do 5lbs curls. I suggest getting heavy weights and doing lower reps (so 5 sets of 5). A lot of women are afraid of heavy weights- but it's the most beneficial and you will not "bulk up".…

You should be nothing but confident and proud of yourself! You pushed yourself to lose a lot of weight and you look FANTASTIC! You pushed yourself and taught yourself to be healthy- I meet so many women who want to lose over 100lbs, but don't have the motivation to do it on their own so they opt for surgery- but you had…

1500 calories is not that much. I understand it sounds like a scary number but you have to be able to give your body the fuel that it needs to function or, like you've experienced, you get lethargic, can't think as clearly, etc. Eating 1500 calories would be a scary thing if you were expected to do so in one sitting- but…

I only make it there once I year now for the Rock and Roll Half Marathon. I used to live in VA Beach and in Portsmouth... but now live in NC. I'll still be a motivational friend on here though.

your flexibility will come back if it is something that you work on continuously. The more your stretch, the more it will return.

I took the viactive for a while, and the calcium supplement ended up giving me horrible kidney issues because my body couldn't break it down- just be aware, not all calcium supplements are created equal.

I take Women's one-a-day active mind and body and then I also take a vitamin D supplement to keep levels up at a normal rate. I also supplement my diet with muscle milk protein shakes mixed with almond milk.

Try working your hamstrings more- the sumo squat (as previously mentioned) is good for that. As well as doing a one leg ball bridge. Lay on the floor with your hips at a 90 degree angle, and your knees at a 90 degree angle resting on a stability ball. Lift one leg off the ball, raise hips, pointing toes toward ceiling-…

Thanks for this post.

I definitely agree with you the 4 year olds grasp a lot on their own! I have a 3 year old son who is the same way. He's not being raised vegetarian, but he makes healthy choices on his own as well. My husband and I lead very active lifestyles (I'm a personal trainer and he's a paratrooper) and our son sees us working out…

I listen to pretty much anything when I workout.... from Bullet for my Valentine to Daft Punk to Metric and even Lady Gaga. If it's music, it's probably on my iPod.

I take a multivitamin daily and 50,000 IUs of Vitamin D weekly. Once I started taking the multivitamin I did notice my appetite decreased as did the random food cravings.

Aly- I absolutely LOVE the dress you ordered. I'm sure it's going to look so great on you! Hope everyone is doing well today. I am lacking energy again today... did more yoga though and I'm getting rest (at least I'm accomplishing two goals I set for myself)! I followed up with the doctor today, I can't go on heart…

@Leela- I will most likely be on beta-blockers starting Monday and may have to have an ablation (where they burn the extra electrical current that is making my heart spazz). It's something I've been dealing with for 15 years and it's progressively gotten worse as I get older- it took them so long to diagnose because they…

NSV- in spite of the fact that I am taking a break from exercising due to heart conditions... it's giving me the perfect reason to get back into yoga (which was one of my May goals). So tonight, after I cleaned the house (finally had energy to walk around), I relaxed and loosened up with some yoga. Baby steps.

Hey ladies, just checking in really quick. You all are doing AWESOME! I've been MIA but I have spent today resting because of doctors orders. On Thursday I ended up having a minor heart attack while I was at the mall with my three year old- I honestly didn't think anything of it until the crazy palpitations, headache,…

I have been a runner for a few years now and just got Vibrams a couple months ago. I had to completely change my stride and I'm still not up to running long distances in the Vibrams because I've had to change my stride. I do up to 3 miles in the Vibrams now and I also do majority of my workouts in them (I workout usually…

I feel like I haven't been on MFP lately... and I really haven't because I've been so BUSY with wedding planning, "work", and running errands all over town so now that I have a few minutes of down time I'll stop by and check in. Using the weekends as rest days, and since it's been rainy the last couple weekends. I haven't…

I recently got a Monroe... and I love it.

your dad is right... I think it's something that we constantly need to be reminded of! Personal victory for me- I actually took a rest day yesterday. It was tough and I got grumpy... but I'm back at it today with 2 gym sessions then a visit to the track to run and do stairs. Keep on kicking *kitten*!
-
@Carro- happy early birthday... I'm right behind you and will be 26 in July. Hope everyone has a good night and gets lots of rest so they can kick *kitten* tomorrow.

I know a couple others commented on this as well- and I don't want you to take any of it as a personal attack... but I've been where you are, and it's not a healthy habit to have. My husband saw what I was doing (weight multiple times and restricting food to control weight) and got rid of the scale. Since then I've…

adding myself Leela30: comment more on this month's challenge; eat at least 80g of protein a day Believeinmagic: To lose 13 pounds; eat more vegetables and do more strength training Meggonkgonk: To reach 133lbs; to run my 10k course at least 1x, Run my 4m run at 9:30 Allie7383:get out of the 150's finally, continue with…

I want to join... I didn't have any particular April goals except for "maintain" but this month I'm definitely in to set specifics. It's been swimsuit season here in NC for over a month and I've got an August wedding rapidly approaching so it's definitely time for me to kick it into high gear and push myself harder! And…

I have gained 10lbs in the 2 months since I started taking the pill. I'm not going to blame the pill for all of the weight gain because I also started lifting and putting on more muscle. I did add a cup size to my chest (which is wonderful for me since I was a AA before). I take orthotricyclene though... and everyone's…

Thanks for that link- a lot of the symptoms are similar and I'm curious if my doctor is trying to rule that out or not now by having me wear the event monitor for a week... I'm just ready to have a doctor finally diagnose something since I've been having episodes for 15 years now (being a military brat and bouncing from…

I am wearing an event monitor now (so for 5 days I wear it and record events where I don't feel normal), this has been on ongoing issue since I was 10. Water would normally be my first guess, but I only drink water and I drink water all day because of how much time I spend working out or in the heat... I usually polish off…

It depends on what you mean by "crazier"- from working out they should be less painful (if you normally get cramps) and also get a little lighter. I would definitely talk to you doctor if it's getting worse than normal.
