I'm just about to go get on the treadmill. My fitbit one is very accurate in general but especially on a treadmill so I'll test it out over 10,000 steps or so. I also have other the walk tracker apps which are normally good at distance but not so much at steps.

Fitbit is more accurate than jawbone and it would at least count your ladder trips as flights of stairs and give you credit for them. No way to really account for the weight you're hauling except to estimate the minutes you spent doing it and adding them under strength training/weight lifting in the cardio section of mfp.

I start each day with 10k and I love it. I've found it's really made a difference in my mood and energy levels, plus I end up with 15k+ by the end of the day which I'm sure is great for my health. If all you care about is burning the calories though, there are much quicker ways.
