As everyone else has said, make sure you are accurately accounting for portion sizes with a scale and measuring spoons/cups. Something I did notice in your diary was a lack of condiments on things. One meal was a hamburger patty and potato salad with nothing else. Did you have a bun, mayo, cheese, etc? The condiments and…

I LOVE the idea of writing them down and refuting them. How powerful!

Yes, it will get easier. I was 245 lbs when I started doing C25K. I couldn't even make it all the way through day one. I am now on W6D2. It is the last day of intervals before straight running. I agree that you probably need to slow down your running pace. I am not kidding when I say that fast walkers could pass my jog…

I bought the entire set on ebay for about $30 about a month ago. There were a bunch available, so I would check that out.

Yes! I am doing the actual C25K program and was 245 lbs when I started. I'm only 5'3" so it's a lot to be carrying around. I am on week 6 day 1. My hips were very sore in the beginning, but I do walking lunges, some straight leg kicks, and some side lunges at the end of the jog and that has really helped with the soreness.…

Bumping for ideas. Great stuff!

I know you wanted exercise tips, but I have diet help. I have PCOS and my dietician says to keep my carbs at 40%. She said that the fat/protein ratios aren't as important, but it is lower carb than a diabetic diet. Consider lowering your carbs. She suggested no more than 30 carbs per meal. An appointment with a dietician…

One thing that my sister did with my niece and nephews when serving a fruit/veggie that they didn't like was to serve it for 3 nights in a row. Just put a small amount on their plate and see what they do with it. The first night, they probably won't touch it. The second night, they may take a small night. The third night,…

That sometimes happened to me. I just bought some Wright Socks. They are double layer socks so the two layers rub against each other, not your foot. They are very thin and breathable - made for running and sports. I've only used them a couple of times, but they really seemed to help. They were about $7/pair. I just googled…

To the OP, please have your doctor check your hormone levels. It was a great suggestion above to see a specialist for more precise testing on your thyroid levels. When I started my journey in April of last year, I was losing 8-10 lbs a month. I went off of birth control for other reasons and my weight loss stopped. I could…

Ruckus, I don't have Crohns, but I have celiac. It took several months, lots of tests, pain, and procedures to get diagnosed. I sincerely hope you get some relief with your new medication. It's incredibly scary to have any sort of risk of cancer added to your life. I'm sure you've done all of this, but it's a risk/benefit…

I'm glad to see that you went to the doctor and (s)he is going to run some tests. I personally stopped having periods about 4 or 5 years ago and my doctor told me that it was just because of the type of birth control that I was on. In May of this year, I went of the pill to get the Mirena and my period never came back.…

I had the Mirena put in this June. I haven't had any problems at all. I have had some minor cramping and have had some spotting, but that's it. I've still been able to lose weight and haven't gotten the dreaded acne. It's been a great choice for me, and I hope it is for you, too!

My boyfriend works 12 hour days with an hour drive each way. He lifts weights at lunch and does a run in the evening most nights. He is a maintenance manager, so he is on his feet most of the day, too. For him, it's about making the time for what's important. With that said, he is way more driven than most! I certainly…

Yay. I feel absolutely lost if I forget to put mine on before a run or a workout. I have the Polar FT4 that I bought from bodytronics.com. They had the best prices of any other website and free shipping. I've been using it regularly for three months and the only negative is that it doesn't have a backlight. I've gone…

One easy thing that I like to do is take chicken breast and diced potatoes, with salt and pepper, and cover them with sliced peppers, any color. I just put the whole pan in the oven and bake it all until it is done. I usually cut the potatoes into hashbrown sized pieces so everything will be done at the same time. All the…

C25K. There are at least two versions out there and I recommend the coolrunning version (www.coolrunning.com). I started on April 15 and I am only on Week 6 Day 3. You can take it as slowly as you need and repeat the days/weeks as often as you need. I was 245.5 lbs when I started. I weighed in today at 220. I can now run…

I would love to join! I've never done a group challenge before. Sound fun! :)

I work at a rural hospital and we have a program called Fresh Start. You can get measured twice a year on six criteria: blood sugar, cholesterol (ldl and hdl), weight, nicotine, and blood pressure. If you meed the standards on all six goals, you get a payout of $200. If you only meet five, you get $100. If you meet four or…

Try C25K. My sister and I started it on April 15th of this year. We were both completely out of shape and had never run before. I was 245 lbs and she was 265. We are both incredibly short, too. 5'3" and 4'11". We couldn't even run all of the intervals on week 1 when we started. We just kept repeating it over and over until…

I'm on W3D2 and I've been focusing on time. I've downloaded playlists from c25kplaylists.com. The music is kind of crappy, but it has voice prompts telling you when to walk and when to run. Most days, it tells you when you are halfway done and when you are on your last interval of jogging, which I REALLY need to hear…
