Keep going, the pace will soon come with the distance

I'm coming into the same boat, Tshirts are too baggy and jeans are on their way, would be interesting to hear what others think, was planning on putting them in a box and put them away in a cupboard or something?
-
Borrowing this off someone, not had chance to look yet, let me know how it goes, intriegued what others think.

not a professional runner and never run in a costume, your best bet would to be try it out before the occassion

Just a heads up, if you are planning to lose weight the deficit will work but 1200 is not enough, your body (from what I gather) will go into "starvation mode", check out the forums for more details, loads out there on this.

Yes, I am in the final week (last run tonight) and on my last run (Sunday) I felt so good I kept going, in the end actually managed 10k at a slower pace than I had previously completed 5k but still managed 10k!
-
You will be fine, c25k is really simple and will have you running 5k in a matter of 2 months so this gives you another 3 or so months before the event.

I would stick to the programme and complete the 3 a week, or do as I did and go every other day (so sometimes 4 a week). The idea is to give your body a "rest day" to make sure it recooperates properly especially being a first time runner. I too have the bug for running but have kept to the plan seeing as I am a beginner.

21lbs in six weeks is pretty good, just over 3lb a week. On average a weight loss of 1-2lb a week is good, any more is great.

I am in the process of trying to run for 5km, I am getting there but find I hit "the wall" probably about 3 times a run, I find by listening to music if I concerntrate on the song or my breathing I ignore these feelings and can continue to run. It is hard but it can be done.

Planning on skipping the chocolate if I can, anything I do get am likely to take to work and dish out, I don't need it and if the guys at work want it they can have it.

I dont touch diet cokes, never liked the taste, I solely drink water as have never liked tea or coffee either. Gets a bit boring at times but we keep a full fat coke in the fridge and I might have one glass a week if that.

ANy kind of takeaway or fast food, Pasta is a biggy but I am lowering my portions rather than cutting stuff out completely, just wana shove a spoon in a bowl of macarroni! defo my ultimate weakness!

am yet to have brought a fitness dvd as I prefer doing my excercise outside but if it doesn't have the usual standard warnings this would put me off slightly, but at the same time alot of it is common sense.

about 7.30-8pm, and if i have a snack after dinner (6pm) then it is usually fruit.

Work, the house being in a complete state, money and the stupid snow, rain I love, best for running!

I had a bad week, the trick is to have a bad week that isn't soo bad you completely undo all the work you have done. Last week was my bad week, I still made sure I excercised, at the end of the week I still put on 1.2lb. I find it easier to try and cut most things out but if you know you have a lot of excercise on one day…
-
Everyones right, you need to eat more, your body will be in starvation mode, doing so much excercise as well.

Homemade macaroni cheese! I love cheese! Have pretty much cut it out of my diet now and have macarroni as a treat and a smaller portion than I use to have by over half!
-
Amazing, great work, its posts like these that help keep the rest of us going :D Thankyou

I ran a test on Saturday to see how I would cope, I know one day isnt a massive test but I thought it would be interesting to see how I did. Turns out without putting my food into MFP I am completely unaware of how bad certain things are for me, I mean I knew some of the calories etc but am completely unaware of the fat…

between these 2: 36 pounds = a mid-size microwave 40 pounds = a 5-gallon bottle of water or an average human leg

Got me too! In the dark hours in the office my eyes lit up with joy... too good to be true lol
-
try swapping it, I have gone from white break to best of both now onto wholemeal, i know too much bread is bad but like with most things it is more down to how much of something you eat not just waht you eat.
-
Yea, started this about 8 weeks ago, not quite completed the programme itself but managed to complete my first 5km event at the weekend.
-
Well done, I am about 30lbs in the last 2 and 1/2 months, not looking as great as the change you have made but getting there. I am also now running and enjoying it, ran my first 5km event at the weekend, walked for about 3 little stints about 2 minutes each but managed to complete the 5km in 34minutes so pretty happy with…

If anyone is looking to start running and are scared of aching joints and having never run before, browse the web and you will find there are loads of programmes out there for beginners. Muscle increase motabilism, if you find yourself feeling slugish at work make the effort to get up from your desk and have a stretch and walk for a couple of minutes, I try and do this as often as possible, now have the running bug and thinking of popping out for a quick run at lunch say 10/15 minutes and then grabbing a…
