My UC is also mild and, as such, it is manageable if I respect it. Our symptoms are very much alike. Take your meds (mine took about 72 hours to kick in). Avoid trigger foods. Make regular appointments. Ask questions. I felt vulnerable in the beginning, but, my job requires periods away from a bathroom, so I absolutely…

I don't know why mine started or stopped, but I have noticed that refined sugar (and maybe now dairy) seems to be a trigger. Has anything else (e.g. allergies) kicked in?

Years ago I hurt my back and bulged a disc. MacKenzie exercises for the low back helped me tremendously; improvement in just a few days. I get back to them ASAP when other exercise or a bad move gives me a warning shot. Making assumptions based on what you wrote (so all caveats apply), the doctors who just gave a…

I hurt my back in my 20s and only eventually did I learn that my disc was bulging. If you have pain down the leg, numbness or tingling, or difficulty walking see a doctor. If your pain continues longer than you you like or interferes with your everyday living, see a doctor then, too. They may suggest rest, or give you…
