Congrats, Sue. Have been blessed to join you and this journey to better health. Your story has been nothing less than inspirational! Best wishes and many many heartfelt prayers go out to you for a successful surgery and post op recovery. You are such a trooper!

Absolutely wonderful news! Prayers for a speedy recovery with no complications.

Love the post. It was almost like you were peeking through the key hole and describing me, just on a somewhat smaller scale (in my youth I was referred to as 'small boned"). One thing your eyes failed to notice is the crepe paper skin covering everything but the soles of my feet. What's up with that? I've only noticed it…

I'm confused. I didn't respond to this post because I have inadequate knowledge of this topic. Now, reading the comments of other responders I would like to know what is meant by "reset". Does TDEE suggest one consumes calorie goals plus exercise calories? I follow someone who consistently eats under her calorie…

Thanks for the information. I didn't know any of this as I am fairly new to the site.

I am 5'3" (at least I used to be) and my goal weight is 120 pounds. I am currently 138.4. Approximately 2 years ago I was 112 which was not a healthy weight for me. When my gym membership was cancelled I steadily climbed to the 150 mark with muscle turning to flab and fat. I am now trying to work my way back using a…

Hello everyone! I'm fairly new to the computer, joined MFP in April 2012 and am just learning about this thing called "posting". I think it's a great idea to set goals and be accountable to others. These are my goals for June: : drink water (lots of it) : walk 20,000 steps a day (thus far, my only form of exercise) : log…

Very informative. I needed to hear this but not as much as my daughter who continues to believe that if she starves herself she will lose the weight.

Hello there. I certainly can't call myself "fabulously fit" but it's a great goal to strive for. I fiddled around with MFP since April '12 but now seem to be on track as far as recording intake and exercise minutes (primarily walking). I'm new to the computer. I'm equally unfamiliar with asking like minded individuals for…

What exactly is the Insanity Workout?

Feel free to add me as a friend. We all need the support of others in our journey.

I love cheesecake and don't feel I have to justify anything I eat to anyone besides myself. It's an occasional treat NOT a full course meal! Enjoy yourself and just keep dumping the nay sayers.

Excellent post. Thanks for directing me back to the path!

I use a pedometer daily with a goal of 10,000 steps. I simply put it on in the morning and record what I've achieved the following morning on the calendar. I usually don't have much trouble reaching that with just my everyday activities unless it's the weekend and I'm sleeping in, doing a lot of reading or other stationary…
