As the posters above me said, the key it to stop looking at this as a temporary thing that you stop doing once you reach your goal weight. Instead, look at it as the permanent way of life, one that will just happen to make you lose weight. Of course, once you reach your goal weight, your calorie allowance will go up.…

Don't feel guilty! We've all done things that aren't the best for us. Instead, try replacing rice with something else - or mixing it with something healthier, so you eat less rice. For instance, I sometimes like to mix rice and chopped spinach. You can add a small amount of rice to a lot of spinach, so you're getting a…

I noticed that you're not logging your foods consistently. It's important that you do so, to be aware of exactly what you're eating. For the days that you've logged, two things stand out for me: 1. You're consuming a lot fewer calories than your allotted amount, by many hundreds of calories per day. Try to eat closer to…

I love fish, and have found that the simplest preparations are my favorite. This is probably my go-to method for any kind of fish. Halibut is my favorite, but it tends to be a bit pricey. However, it pretty much works with any white fish. http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/halibut-meunire-10000001911370/ I also love rainbow…

If you get to 110 lbs. at your height, you will be UNattractive. Stop focusing on a stupid number, and focus on your health.

According to this site: http://www.healthstatus.com/cgi-bin/calc/calculator.cgi , your ideal healthy weight is 147 lbs. Your ideal range is between 131 and 164. You don't need to lose weight. Am I correct that according to your profile, you want to weigh 110 lbs.? That is a very unhealthy weight for someone your height.…

I'm not strict on carbs, but I do find I have better results when I don't snack on carbs. For snacks, I typically have nuts (pistachios are my favorite) and fruit - usually an apple.
-
I doubt that's a problem. I started out with a lot more calories in the beginning. MFP will adjust your macros as you lose weight.

I don't agree with everything said here. 1. I eat three meals a day, plus snacks. As long as I am withing my calorie budget, it's all good. 2. I agree with cutting back on sugar, but you don't have to give it up completely. I did give up soda entirely, and I don't drink fruit juice, because I'd rather eat my calories than…

I'm 50, and have been doing this for a year as of yesterday. It's much easier for me now than it was in my 30s, or any other time of my life, because I finally realized I don't have to do some whacky, insane, weird diet plan. All I have to do is eat foods that are good for me, measure my portions, and count calories.

Pan fried with salt & cumin. I serve it with a sauce of sour cream, salt, pepper, cumin, and lime juice.

I think it varies from person to person. Of course, nutritionally, it would be better to stick to natural, unprocessed foods as much as possible. However, deviating from that once in a while won't kill you, as long as it's done in moderation. Personally, I have better results if I snack on fruits or nuts rather than carbs…

PODIATRIST. Definitely a podiatrist.

I had it really bad for a while, too. Mine first appeared after cooking Thanksgiving dinner in our (then) new house, standing barefoot on hardwood floors for three hours. First lesson I learned - NEVER go barefoot again, and always wear shoes with support. I wear Crocs around the house (they're easy to slip on, and very…

I make sourdough bread weekly. I have a slice at breakfast for toast, and two slices at lunch in a sandwich. I've been doing this every day since April, and have been steadily losing weight. However, along with my toast in the morning, I have Egg Beaters for protein. I have the toasted bread with homemade jam only, no…

I make my own sourdough every week. It's easy, takes very little hands-on time, and tastes better than anything in the store. The only ingredients are flour, water, yeast, and a little salt and sugar. 60 calories per ounce. Recipe link: http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/rustic-sourdough-bread-recipe

I make an awesome buttermilk garlic dressing. Only 27 calories per tbsp. Not your typical ranch - it's got a kick! 2/3 cup sour cream 1 cup light mayonnaise (I used Hellmans) 1 cloves garlic 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoon hot Hungarian paprika (less if you don't like too spicy) 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1…

Make sure you get enough protein as well. MFP usually sets the protein goals way too low. I typically have between 75-100 grams of protein a day. The more water you drink, the better. You might want to track your sodium as well, as it will make you retain water. (You can change your diary settings to show sodium.) Hang in…

I just finished listening to The Help. It was amazing - great audiobook.

1, How long did you plan? Engaged for 1.25 years for logistical reasons, spent about a day actually planning the wedding. 2. How much did you spend? (sorry if that's personal) Was this more/less than you planned? Less than $500. Yes. 3. How many people were invited/ how many showed up? Sister and her family, three closest…

Same here - before I met my husband, I did not want to get married at all. I wasn't even interested in dating. My husband proposed after a few months. I already knew by then that I wanted to marry him.

So cute! How wonderful that you got a rescue. Where in NC did it come from?

There are many e-books you can lend to your friends if they have the same type of e-reader. My mom and I have shared books on our Nooks, and I think you can do the same with the Kindle.

Do you mean tzatziki? If so, not quite. The similarity I see between the two is the garlic. However, the buttermilk and mayo adds a different flavor than the other, which is usually yogurt (or sour cream) and cucumber. If that's not the sauce you're referring to, I'm not sure of the answer. :)

It was very easy to get used to reading on a screen. I have a Nook e-reader (not the color version), and it's just like reading on paper. You can also read it outside in bright light, unlike the ones with a backlit screen (such as an iPad or Nook Color). They now have a version with a glow-light, so you can read at night…

We have this Cuisinart model. It's $52, and has excellent ratings. There is a newer model that is slightly more expensive, and also has great ratings. They've both been highly recommended by Cook's Illustrated.…

44 years old and doing this? RUN. The faster, the better. Don't waste any more time on this guy. It will not get better.

I notice that you like to eat oatmeal in the morning, which will add a lot to your carb count. You could substitute two eggs for the oatmeal, and add 21 grams of protein to your count. It will also keep you feeling satisfied longer than carbs will.

I wouldn't put up with it. Honestly, his attitude really stinks. Telling you this will be an every night thing, and showing a complete disregard for your feelings? Why would you want to stay with someone who treats you so horribly? You deserve so much better than that.

Really? REALLY? You're criticizing her for communicating with him about the problem, rather than just walking out and dumping him? Seriously? It sounds like they both realize they've made mistakes, and are working to try to resolve them. This is how you maintain a good relationship - with communication. Why on EARTH would…
