  • 2164 today. Still logging, since I find I do better with it than without.
  • That is just super! I see a much happier person, you look terrific!
  • Sharing your success is one of the best things on MFP! You help more people than you will ever know, and it doesn't hurt you either. Thank you and congrats!
  • If you cook most things from scratch, just substitute GF ingredients for wheat flour. Tons of sites on the interwebz can help. Like Shauna Ahern, the gluten free girl http://glutenfreegirl.com/ Jeanne Sauvage http://www.artofglutenfreebaking.com/gluten-free-recipes/ Karen Robertson http://cookingglutenfree.com/ Meredith’s…
  • I think the link has "ree" at the end and it should stop after the "html", so it should be https://simplygluten-free.com/blog/2010/08/shirley-temple-cupcakes.html maybe....
  • There is definitely some variability in WHEN you might feel better. I have heard some folks feel quite a bit better in days to a week, others may take a month. In my particular case, I JUST was battling arthritis and quit gluten, felt MUCH better after a week, continued to improve for maybe 3 or 4 weeks until I felt quite…
  • Tomorrow's a new day, you start from there with a clean slate and you do your best. That's it. Don't beat yourself up. You can do it.
  • I have used a treadmill for years, I typically slog along at 4 1/2 mph for an hour, 5 times a week. This is about as fast as I can walk, any faster would need to be a jog. It would be boring but I love old movies, I just put one on and put on my headphones and tramp away for an hour, the next night I just pick up where I…
  • 913 days today for me, it was not a goal - I just really, really feel I benefit from logging my food and exercise each day and I don't get sick much so I keep coming back. Not everyone works that way and that's fine. I have friends who are making great progress but don't have daily log ins. As long as it works for you, do…
  • Spectacular! Go, you!
  • What helps me the most is to exercise instead of snacking. I have a treadmill and if I am slogging along, I'm not snacking. If I can't exercise than drinking a big glass of water, chewing gum or a diet soda may do the trick. If you do want to eat, you might try carrots, celery or some other low calorie high fiber veggies.…
  • This looks good! Thanks for sharing!
  • Back from vacation! July 23 & 24 were days 9 & 10 for me. And I was able to do my daily exercise again. I really missed that! Hop you all are well.
  • Day 8, July 22. Right at my calorie limit, but no snacking. Looking forward to getting back to work!
  • @jafray4- good luck at the fair! I'm on vacation and going over my calories. But no snacking after dinner! Today, July 21 is day 7 (I think). I do much better when I have a routine.
  • July 20th, day 6 successful. Went over my target, but no late night snacking. I will just focus on the night snacks and not worry about the daily totals at this point. JH, if you can make 21 days or 12 days you can do anything. Just worry about one day at a time, just tonight- and I know you CAN! I have watched you day…
  • Day 5, July 19th- somewhere in Montana. Busy but no snacking after dinner!
  • Tonight July 18th, is day 4 for me. I'll be in bed shortly so l will declare victory now. We are going on vacation for the next week. I expect to keep up with the no snacking after dinner challenge. But you never know what to expect. @jafray4- that's pretty strategic of you- focusing on the next week. I just try to focus…
  • Thank you, JH- this certainly has helped me. Last night was number 3 on my way to 21. The kids got some ice cream out around 8 pm and I almost had a spoonful. But then I remembered that I am not doing the mindless snacking thing. Dodged a bullet. And you all helped!
  • Last night, July 16, was day 2 for me. Thanks! --Gregory
  • Hi, all-- I think I need to go around again! Day 1 was last night. --Gregory
  • 21 days. This has been SO worth it. I plateaued for about a year! And this group has helped me get the scale moving down again. How cool is that? Thank you Bo, and everybody for helping me be accountable. I couldn't have done it without you! We can all do this. Just never give up, and you will get to your goals, whatever…
  • Day 20 for me is done. No snacking after dinner - nothing till breakfast. This group has been great for me, I am now just a couple of pounds away from my original goal - set over two years ago. I have fought the last ten pounds forever! But identifying where I have been failing and doing something effective about it took…
  • Rlstepp29 - good for you! You can do this, it does get easier and if you do slip a little just dust yourself off and start fresh again. We can all do this!
  • Jafray4- good for you! If you can do 16 days, you can do a month or two. And what I think you are trying to actually control is mindlessly shoveling in cookies or whatever. If you planned to have a cookie Wednesday night at 8:30 - then that is purposeful and positive. You are in charge of your self.
  • Day 19! The 4th of July, and I will make it to 21. I think that I can continue to NOT snack in the evening. But it will take a mindful approach - I will have to pay attention. It is worth doing, though, so I plan to make that the new habit. I think I can replace my old bad habit with a better one. I heard this from an Og…
  • Day 18, not too bad tonight. Keeping busy helps, tomorrow is the 4th of July but should be fine. Not really too tempted anymore. Day 21 is coming up fast!
  • Day 17 completed, I think it is getting easier. This night time eating out of boredom was really a bigger problem than I realized. Once I get to 21 days I should just continue to skip the snacks. Otherwise it is likely I'll just fall back into a place I don't want to be. I already know where that goes. I hadn't really…
  • Day 16 completed, I felt like snacking tonight - even though I know I am not really hungry. But I am very aware I don't want to cave. After 16 days I don't think I will backslide as long as I pay attention. I hope you are all successful!
  • I am done with Day 15, a little difficult because I came home to do a minor project that turned into a big pain. But at least it left me no time to snack. I ate dinner at about 9:30, after it got too dark to work and I had to come in. Went over my daily calories and didn't have time to do my daily workout. But I didn't eat…
